Had to chuckle when you laid down in the road. In 2016, I road from SW Indiana to Alaska. The trip lasted about three weeks. At one point I was so tired I felt like I was going to fall asleep so I pulled off near a beautiful stream. Got out my pocket rocket stove heated water for coffee. Enjoyed the coffee. Put my helmet back on when ready to leave, laid down for a second and woke up about two hours later..... Beautiful place, would love to do it again even at age 70.
Yes sir, I got so tire. I had to pull over and took a power naps for 20-30minutes along the road. I was concerned a bear would come out of the woods and eat me, lol. That was like 6pm. Hell, Alaska barely gets dark. That napped was worth it. I made it to Fairbanks around 10pm.
I spent 3 weeks riding around Alaska 3 years ago on a BMW R1200rt. Best place I have ridden in. I made it to Cold foot on the Dalton Highway. To much snow on the passes after that. Thanks for sharing your ride
This is awesome. Riding to Alaska/Yukon/NWT is on my retirement bucket list. I have almost a million km's under my belt since I started riding at 16 - all over North America. Keep the shiny side up.
Very well done fellow visitor…. I’ve been here nearly all my life, Epic in Every way. As a Motorcoach Tour Bus Driver I see you enjoyed many of the locations that I’ve brought guests to for there Great Alaska Adventures. I have planned my own Solo Alaska Road Adventure and Two weeks Ago I purchased a New Gold-wing Trike and I’m So very excited for what is to come……. Thanks for your visit to Our Great State, and a Great perspective for me as to what’s to come. SdDriver/Rider Looking forward to your next Alaska Adventure Thanks Again.
Well done. Did Alaska on a GS in 2017. From Anchorage to Fairbanks, Valdes and the Mc Carthy, and back to Anchorage. Your video made me remember that trip. Thanks!
Great video! What do you think if the 360 camera? Did it meet the expectations? At quazyrides we only use two action cams, but would like to grtcsome different angles as well.
360 is the way to go. You don’t have to deal with turning the camera and try to to capture different angles while you riding. It’s very smooth too. Check out on TH-cam reviews of 360 go pro.
Very nice what time of the year was that Bucket list Alaska…I just did a Cali to key west trip crossing lower states and mid states… and all ready planing my next one… camping along the way as much as I can..
@@Yololife813 I ran across your u tube looking into the Alaska ride on a Harley, I have a few places on my bucket list on a Harley, before I take it to the next step add a adventure bike to the family…of harleys … Alaska, Maine, Route 66, and Cabo Baja trip…
hi I did not have any issues during my journey. However, I did carry tire plugs, fire starter, first aid kit, air pump, emergency blanket eat.. just in case. I did not have gas issues since the Harley has a big tank. im returning this June and rented an adventure bike instead. Stay tune for my next Alaska Adventure.
I went in August of last year. Border was closed. I flew in to Anchorage and rented a Harley which is a big big mistake. An adventure bike will work much better especially if you’re goin to theARTIC
Yep we were supposed to go in July 2020 and boarder was closed so we planning July 2021 but it doesn’t look to promising, I will be riding my Yamaha Super Tenere 1200.
@@jeffbrunelle919 Yeah it does not look good this year either. Actually, this is a good time to fly in like I did and rent a Moto. There was no one there. Most of the time I had the roads for myself. im goin back this June and already booked 3 BMW GS adventure for us.
I lived in Ak 4 years. Drove a car to and from. Its on my bucket list to ride my bike up there one summer. That was a moose not an elk. Elk aren't native to Ak there are some in southern Ak. They recently started a bison herd in Northern Ak.
there are always road work. there are time I ran into gravels and dirt roads for miles and miles. I had to cancel cabin rentals due to dirt and gravel roads. if you plan on stay on hotels for airbnb you should be fine. But be prepared for the road construction. I went back this year and rented an adventure bike instead and I was able to explore more of Alaska
That was during the pandemic. They wouldn’t let me into Alaska unless I have negative Covid test within 24 hrs. The airport was dead and had this erie feeling. I was alone on a tramp in Seattle airport. It was like apocalypse. As soon I got to Alaska, they have people checking your temp and want to see your Covid result. Crazy!! Hope we will never go thru this again
Thank you very much for sharing your epic journey.
Happy trails
Thanks for watching

That was Great!
Man I love my Road Glide. Did you have any issues with road conditions up there?

I rode a BMW R1200rt 3 years ago and did fine. Lots of construction but a street bike does fine
Any future plans to go back?
i love it so much. I went back July 2021 . Maybe 2025 I go back to Alaska . I have other places I want to go.
@3:25 . . . actually those were moose, not elk.
2 cow moose. They don't got em in Florida.
Did you ever run out gas and how many miles per gollon did you get on that bike thanksss
Awesome 👏
Awesome! What month did you ride to Alaska?
End of July
What time of year did you make this trip? Cool video
august 2020
Hopefully one day i ll do the same trip !!
Thanx for sharing .. so was it a round trip ? Or u dropped off the rental in Anchorage ?
I rented a bike at anchorage and did a loop (round trip)over 1000 miles and return the bike back at anchorage .
What was the temperature like riding there?
55-65 during the day. This was in August.
Early morning 40-50
How did you get your bike to Alaska?
since the border was closed, I flew into Anchorage and rent it.
In the future stick to a limited number of camera angles. It is really hard to watch
As soon as I see a mask, I am outta there.
