J-Collection is IXO's sub-brand and the models were sold as DeAgostini Famous Car Collection in Japan. The Centauria 1/64 Ferraris sold in Italy are also manufactured by IXO. IXO is Tarmac Works closest partner. They share resources like castings, factories, licensing and distribution. The manufacturer on the back of most of Tarmac Works boxes, Premium & Collectibles Trading Co, is IXO's parent company.
We want a Championdjk best of the year video! Obviously you are a major contributor to Lamley but there we get a people’s choice- (911 or GTR) or Johns choice (HW biased selections) plus no AW, M2 or Greenlight, and no unlicensed cars, which is your specialty lately, and to be honest some of those GFCC (or whatever they’re calling themselves this week) releases are really good. Would love to see your top vehicles of 2024 from all the random stuff you have shown this year and thank you for doing such a great job with it, unbiased and no unlicensed discrimination, lol!
The J collection models (and the Civic) are Deagostini castings for their 1:64 Japanese Famous Car Collection for the Japanese market. They have put out some 1:64 car debuts in that line as well.
As always great video & appreciate the shout out. You're only the 2nd person I know to open the J Collection so it's nice to see them up close. Going to try and send you some pics over the next few days.
All the cars are cool. But If I had to pick one, I would choose the orange Honda Civic. I remember these cars on the road growing up in the 70s. Thanks for showing us.👍👍❤️
Some decent models. My favorite is the Tanto 510. I have that model. It's very limited. I think they came out with a little over 2000 pieces made. Thank you for sharing.
Opel Cadet & the Silvia are both cool. Yes i dont think anyone else is making them the NSX & Toyota Sprinter Trueno they are also done by Tomica Premium 👍🏽 I have both i also have a white Toyota Sprinter Trueno Tomica Premium.
Very nice models, just very expensive. In the UK i pay for example £30 for two greenlight cars. I could probably double that for Tarmac Works. Since loosing my job any diecast is kinda expensive
tarmac works is a great brand to collect high quality and reasonably priced although a little more expensive than mini gt here in new zealand, very similar to inno 64 my pick is the datsun 510, i have a couple of them
You call it a Opel Kadett. I call it a Pontiac Lemans GSE.😆 I like the Silvia/240sx except for the reverse rake going on with it. 😆 That Honda actually looks pretty good. I've got that NSX and like you said it's not the best casting of it. Like these offbeat car reviews you're doing. 👍
Tarmac works was affordable when it was a new brand. Now the prices have been raised quite a bit. Even more so than Inno64 with which it directly competed with. With the higher-end models there are often QC issues present which makes the price increase not worth it. You're right with your observations, some of these toolings, are very similar to older Kyosho ones from 17-18 years ago. Especially with the pegged headlights and the painted on details. These are older construction methods.
Beat me to it! Greenlight, or similar needs to come out with a Caddy or Lincoln with an opening trunk, and body bag inside. Dark comedy for sure, but I bet it'd set like crazy!
I've collected a few Tarmac Works models and really like them. Definitely up there with Mini GT and Inno64 as some of the best Diecast cars around. For some reason, these models you're showing seem a bit wonky for Tarmac Works. The details and finish don't seem nearly as sharp. Are these budget models or older models? These don't seem like a good representation of the Tarmac Works product lines, which is strange. Maybe I just haven't looked at them in such ultra-close detail before.
I don't collect TarmacWorks as avidly as I used to. I have seriously limited my purchases of the Hobby64 line, as they have ballooned in price while falling short of my expectations in terms of quality. Global64 and J Collection is now my main focus, mostly because of the variety of models and similarities with MiniGT. But they too are way too expensive for what they offer. I like their Porsche toolings, but I think they did a very bad job on some of the F40 versions. So very Hit or Miss.
I have the first 3 j collection castings, not impressed at all. Every small piece fell off, all the wheels are pretty crappy rollers and the painted details are not great. The only saving grace was they were on sale and cheap, might end up as customs or sold on.

i don't know about that! I already have some DeAgostini in my collection like the Celsior, and it's cool
Cool, I have some DeAgostini too so I’ll have to compare.

Tanto is my favorite! Those Watanabe looking wheels, and trim in that bronze color look amazing. Subtle but really does make an impact.
I loved the Silvia, color is pretty and unique so I had to have it.
The more recent Road64 release of the Datsun 510 (in light green color) does roll. One of my top purchases of the year.

Very cool castings championdjk

That driver side rear tire is low on that first car.😂
I love the J Collection. I’ve decided I’ll get every casting they release in that line. We’ll see how long that lasts!
_"You maybe could use it as an eraser"_ referring to the non rolling wheels. Lol 😅😆
Hahahaha thank you

good luck with your job search. I am confident you will get back to work soon.

Not sure what's in the Silvia's trunk. But, I wouldn't drill out the rivets to find out, lol.

Indeed the Opel Kadett isnt a casting from Tarmac Works, it 1st appeared in a spanish press release

Awesome review! Which series do you like more-Road 64, Global 64, or J Collection?
I just realized I didn't send you the J Collection car it was actually the white 510. Just checked the list. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Dead body in the trunk!

Lol they're cheap for a reason
Awesome show case and I like tarmac works and my favorites was the AE86 Corolla and the Nismo Nissan Silvia 😎
Tarmac Works' QC is very hit or miss. There are better alternatives at that price point (Mini GT, Pop Race, Inno64...)
Si no rueda , no sirve para nada
