Incredible performance. Reagers vocals sound awesome, Dave Chandler's guitar tone is CRUSHING and Adams and Acosta are kicking ass as a rhythm section 🤘
RIP original drummer Armando Acosta. I always liked Scott Reagers better as a singer than Scott "Wino". Here he channels his best Eric Bloom (BOC) vibrato and he recently rejoined the band.
Vocals have a distinct Bad Brains vibe! Love these old videos....someone needs to put them all in a museum and preserve them for ever....thank God for TH-cam or all this classic music would be lost!
This is Ontario , California actually. This Embassy Hotel is there and is outside the San Bernardino area. The same confusion years ago with Cal Jam 1974. Ontario Speedway. Besides, SST didn't promote a new band to go to another country as Saint Vitus's first album was released the same year in 1984.
Great listening to this really early stuff. I started on Vitus with Born Too Late and got into Reagers with the Die Healing album. Like both vocalists a lot. Regardless of the vocalist, it is Dave Chandler's band.
Thanks for uploading this! Love Saint Vitus!!!! Doom on!!!!!😀👍👍⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐One of the earliest doom metal bands to come out anywhere!!! & Still going strong even today!!! Excellent show overall!!!!!
wow what a find. My old band use to play at the old Embassy Hotel in London,Ontario,Canada. The Embassy is no longer & was torn down 😞, I seen so many great acts here such as Type O Negative,The Misfits,Obituary,As I Lay Dying,Quo Vadis,Deicide,Cannibal Corpse,Archers Of Loaf,Sister Machine Gun etc.
Does anyone know why Reagers didn't stay as their vocalist later on? Both Scotts are amazing but always wondered why he wasn't in Saint Vitus in later years
Cause they always have been fans of hardcore punk (also some Vitus songs have big and clear hardcore influences like White Stallions for example) and cause at that time they were signed with SST Récords, which is owned by Black Flag guitarrist Greg Ginn.
All the way at the end "Thank you for letting us play our godawful Heavy Metal" to the Punk crowd. What a champ

Very impressive live vocals. Not often you hear anyone nail it so solidly, live.
This is incredible. Dave's guitar tone is absolutely one of a kind great. It sounds like no other guitar.
Henry Rollins up front getting the boogie on.
fuck yeah.

Reagers all the way! Godly!
Definitely
He's a rad singer, his voice fits the riffs.
Damn Scott's vocals sound fucking amazing in this video

Agreed
If there is a better live video with this same lineup, I wanna know about it. My favorite era of SV. Armando and Reagers. Love it.

Hardcore punk + doom = sludge metal

TH-cam is a haven for live videos like this one and many others.
A crime that this only has 29 likes. Doesn't get much better for me
The Giants of Doom. Bound to be underrated. Only for the Few.
Best lineup

The worlds quietest bass solo at the 41:00 mark....LoL
Awesome
Thanks for this treasure
Wow
REAGERS!!!!!!!!! Oh, HELLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL yes!!
Une tuerie ! .. genialissime. Il est génialissime ce chanteur ....
that was Hank dancing at the front of stage the first few songs
I was just wondering about that, the tats, hair and gestures certainly seem to indicate so.
I'm wearing the black flag shirt , No! im wearing the black flag shirt
Audible chuckle
“And the band with the best natural hair goes to…”
Punk as fuck.
Saint vitus rules
This is so tuff.
The drums....

Does anyone know why Reagers didn't stay as their vocalist later on? Both Scotts are amazing but always wondered why he wasn't in Saint Vitus in later years
He's more of a family man and didn't care for the touring.
Are there coke's being sold over there?
Not for another two years!! 🤣
vrh!!!!
33:56 - 36:40
Chandler's a madman. I love it.

What the hell is a Doom metal band doing opening for a hard core band?
Cause they always have been fans of hardcore punk (also some Vitus songs have big and clear hardcore influences like White Stallions for example) and cause at that time they were signed with SST Récords, which is owned by Black Flag guitarrist Greg Ginn.
Even so it wrong way around! hard core first then doom last please. good grief
