Andrew, your truck will tow a lot more then you think it can handle. Many years ago I had a 2009 6.0 2500 truck. I towed a 5th wheel that weight 13,800 pounds dry all over the country as I worked. It was the most truck I could afford at the time being young and cash strapped. There were many stressful moments on the highway but the truck handled the load just fine. Saved enough to buy a Duramax Dully. I miss my old truck, she did all and some more.
@@NinjaRN4731 oh lol I bought a 09 gasser but the previous owner worked the shit outta the truck with a gooseneck. He put in a new motor and rear end in it.
I have an 04 2500 and am pretty skeptical of how much I can tow. It says my towing capacity is 12k lbs. I have a 5k lbs trailer so I figured I could only tow around 7k lbs… just very shocking to hear you moved 8 tons with yours.. Got any advice or input that would help me?
Andrew Morris Outdoors here in Saudi Arabia chevy are popular trucks and then ford F150 the premium gas is around 0.56 cents a liter and regular is around 0.40 cents a liter how much is the gas prices in US ?
Great trucks hauled from El Paso TX to the RGV with a trailer and a dolly two suburbans on top of them zero problems , as well as an 10,000lbs 34 foot rv from North Dakota back to the RGV Tx great engines and great transmission
I got a 2012 2500hd 6.0 vortec I tow a 5,000lb trailer with a 10,000lb skidloader on it with 4 implements that weight between 500 and 1,500 lbs and she does just fine so far just got the truck so I hope it stays that way.
My neighbor loaded 5 on his bed... 2 wide 2 deep and one in the middle. I laughed thinking those are going to be fun to pick up on the side of the road.
I’ve got 2 of the same truck you have. One with the Duramax and one a 6.0. Both are good trucks but if I’m not pulling really heavy then the 6.0 is my choice. Damn thing is bulletproof and will pull better than you might think.
Andrew, will your tractor handle the bales? Can't remember size of tractor you drove. Hope you video loading and unloading next time. How did the 5th wheel trailer feel behind ya? I don't have one but friend said it's easy pulling and rides pretty smooth. Enjoyed a full-watch 👀. 👍
Bro i remember driving my bosses 06 2500hd hauling a top hat 40 foot with 2 tractors. The bed was all steel and fool of tool with a comoressor and welder well trust me I dogged the Shit out of it I tried to break it and it just kept going 😂
You can easily get by with an S10 or Ford ranger for 30 bale's a year. That being said I usually tow 6 bale's with my 2003 V6 f150 2wd. And 14 bale's with the 03 Chevy 2500 6.0. but we used to feed 1500 bale's a year (200 head). That truck will do a lot more than your using it for.
Diesel is better on fuel no doubt... but I'd do total cost of operation calculation. I had diesel and amount of towing I do a 6.0 gas was a better yearly calc for me. You throw in any diesel engine repairs and the calc rolls heavy in favor of gas unless you just need or want diesel.
@@tedtsikhlakis3095Yep. I had a 2004 Cummins diesel and whenever anything went wrong the repair bill was ridiculously expensive. Now I have a 2003 Silverado 6.0l and the parts are way cheaper.

You ever transverse the Rookies with that weight? I have a 11' 2500HD Silverado 6.0 gas 4x4. I've never hauled more than 10k with it. Just curious.
I use my 04 Silverado 2500 6.0 for my dumpster business most I’ve towed is 8 tons does great

Love the 6.0 engine has a great sound when driving and love the reliability it gives
It does sound good.
Not to good on gas mileage though.

XT Falcon 2-3$ per gallon depending on regular or premium but the 6.0 vortec usually gets 12-15 mpg. Really not that bad for what it is
Thomas Marchese mine gets 10
You need a camshaft to awake the beast inside that motor...
That and some 4.56’s 👌🏻

Any mods on you 6.0 or thing you would or want to help out ?
I have a 03 sierra with the 6.0 and love it, i also have the same tow mirrors you do
Awesome

Odd question but I don’t really know the difference but what is the difference between the 1500hd 6.0 and 2500 6.0?
@@Jackson-vd3npnot much between those two but there is between a 2500hd and 1500hd.
@@livewithnickwhat’s that difference?
I had a 2002 for a short while.
Now abiut to put a 05 4x4 together.
Thanks for sharing

Well my tractor only lifts them on the back hydraulics. It pulls good. A lot better then bumper pull.
that truck will do anything
I found one with hail and body damage, no accidents... 135k on the miles 6.0 4x4 for 2750$ deal or ?
Oscar San Miguel yes !
I think so
dude that's a steal
I hope you bought it
love em don’t love the MPGs but you can’t get everything right. still a great truck 👍🏼
Yeah for sure
I bet he’s still driving this thing
Nice truck we have a chevy 3500hd a chevy 2500hd and a gmc 1500
That's nothing for that truck I pulled the trailer with 10 round bales that were wrapped in plastic and they fill them with water to make hayledge

To me a s10 couldn’t even haul a small square bale! Lol
I gotta ask. What’s the switch in front of the Tach????
That’s just a bolt I put through the dash to keep it from rattling. Lol. I thinks that’s what your talking about right
I rewatched and yep that’s a bolt. Thought it was a switch. Nice repair tho.
Yo brother I’ve been in search for a adapter for the different pin trailer plug where did u get urs?
Tractor supply, I believe
Anyone know what mpg to expect woth a 2004 2500 6.0 LT rwd?
I get 10 mpg on the exact truck with a Superchip, exhaust and K&N intake. Pulls my 7000lb trailer strong.
Where did you get your gooseneck need one for my duramax 2004 2500
B&w flip over ball hitch. I paid like $650 total with installation at the trailer dealer in 2007.
What's up with that switch in front of the cluster
It’s a bolt to keep dash tight
How much did the trailer weigh?
Probably around 2500lb. I actually got 9 Bales on a another load. Now that was hard on it.
Yeah that is not impressive I have pulled 13 1600# bales with the same truck all day everyday
Haha cool. I got 9 on it. Wouldn’t put any more then that. Break your truck
I don't know why your not putting 5 down either side then Three on top , not trying to chirp just saying how I do it
I could. But seems to be a little much for my truck.
Could you tow a 30ft trailer if with it? I'm looking for a Chevy 2500 around the same year and is going to be towing a trailer. Their about 7800 lbs
I probably could. But it would be tough on it. For hailing that I would go with a diesel.
U can put 10-15000lb on that trailer
Cool.
Is the diesel better on fuel or is the 6.0
Diesel! By far

unless your actually going to use it, it would be a huge waste of money. you will never get your gas savings out of it
