Imagine those of us raised here, it was glorious to mid 90s and of course before! GLORIOUS. But it’s OVER, they gutted this city for wealth off-shore money. You don’t have the “cool” of L.A. or NYC for the even bigger cost. Stay positive - hope you will find a new found fire in the UK. You can make it from anywhere! The “colleges” here are NOT-reputable. Get your money & run man! I studied and lived in L.A. - Vancouver is a location but you’re making the right decision.
Thanks for the comment. I grew up in Canada prior but was located in Saskatchewan, lived there for over 10 years and it was a beautiful time for me. Wanting to locate in Vancouver had always been the dream, especially with acting. But what I see here and how expensive it is genuinely breaks me. It’s a sign that the times are changing. But I’ll always stay focused no matter what no matter where life takes me :)
I live in Vancouver. If my parents didn't own a house here, I'd have left a decade ago. There is no sustainable way to live long term here without the wealth that comes from owning real estate.
No hate, shouldn't you have looked into these things ahead of time? I feel like many of these things could have been figured out ahead of time rather than finding out when you arrived
Oh yeah, totally agree with you. I think what I’ve done is underestimated the expenses and amount of hours I can work, therefore, I will fall short and won’t be able to maintain security

I live in North Vancouver, I’ve grown up here my whole life. If I didn’t have family supporting me financially I couldn’t afford to live here.

It’s just unfortunate because I got my permits to do acting school but when managing my expenses, I fall short and won’t be able to support myself.
Also getting jobs here is shit. Keep going with the music!
