I had a lady cut my curly hair dry. No one has ever done that before and when I asked her why she did that she said it was because my hair was different textures and thicknesses in different places and she wanted to make sure she could see that and cut accordingly. She gave me the most wonderful haircuts I have ever had, but sadly she moved away. That must've been four years ago and I haven't had My haircut since because there are no great hairdressers here in this little town. In San Francisco I could definitely get a great haircut but not around here. I'm very happy for you that you've been able to bless all these people and I'm very happy for them.

It looked like he had tears in his eyes at one point - people don't get physical touch when they reach that level of homelessness - no hugs, no handshakes or people saying I love you, etc. (unless from another homeless person) - so while it's not affection per se, to receive a haircut, it is very humanizing and engaging in a way that they probably have walled off - then they are reminded of what's missing in their lives - got to be overwhelming.
