Daniel Leu you are the man for posting these videos. I'm from St. Louis and while i wasn't a Rams fan due to my allegiance to the Dallas Cowboys, but it was the greatest feeling to hear from family and friends about the pride of the city because of these dudes. It was the best of times for my city and i wish they would've been able to get at least two titles while they were in the Lou. Thank you for giving my city something to remember. Should've made them leave everything related to the title years, just like they did for the Browns when they left Cleveland and when they were awarded the expansion version.
Bryant Anderson I'm from LA in 95 I was traveling cross country to work in DC I had planned to go see Marshall Faulk beat my Rams in St. Louis but I overslept at the state line and missed the game so I called the local sport radio station from a phone booth in Downtown St.Louis and told them that St.Louis had just inherited a great football team along with a great history of Hall of Famers Deacon Jones, Merlin Olsen, Jack Youngblood .... The list goes on and that they were my team and always will be because of the aforementioned players that I seen play ball and for St.Louis to please welcome them with open arms, thanks for doing that, now I have my RAMS back, something to be Happy about.... took my Son to Canton Ohio in 01 he got his RAM helmet signed by Jack Youngblood on the left horn and by Fred Dryer on the right, that was a good day.... blessings from California.
Martz play calling, savagery at its finest. STLs glory days of Kurt, Marshall, Torry and Bruce and Hakim. We had a fuckin perfected unit in '99. a time of the Rams putting in work.
This Rams team was something else, Faulk was sooo great, whenever he got the ball man he took off, same with Isaac and Torry. Faulk is definitely the best receiving back of all time and one of the most complete hb’s of all time. Bruce and Holt r undeniably the best receiver duo of all time, so explosive and both had great hands, can’t believe neither of them have been inducted. Warner was so great with leading his receivers to the ball and throwing complete dimes even with good coverage. To think that before this impeccable season he had, he was working at a grocery store blows my mind. Don’t let the score fool you we dominated this great Vikings team with ease! Such a completed team and I wish I was alive to witness it first hand. I feel my Rams today r drawing closer and closer to a team similar to this amazing unstoppable force. A chip is coming soon!
What is so funny is that the 99 Rams were pretty much that years version of the 98 Vikings. An unstoppable scoring machine. Just like the Vikings, they blew through the regular season, ran a divisional opponent out of their building, and went somewhat flat against a physical rival in the NFCCG. Unlike the 98 Vikings, the 99 Rams were able to pull off a narrow win after getting punched in the mouth, and cashed in their ticket to the Super Bowl with a win.
Been a Rams fan since i was a Kid in the late 70's, the 5 year run in St Louis from 99 up to the the playoff berth with Bulger were easily my favorite times
Max Smiley yea I remember as a pats fan being happy when you guys took out the Seahawks who were the 2nd best team in the NFC. The Seahawks had nearly beat the Pats at Gillette earlier that year, and if we got to the SB I wanted Philly over Seattle. Not that I wanted to see the Rams with Martz looming for revenge either, but I feared Seattle more than any other NFC team at the time
juice4080 He was also a great target for one of the best blitzing D - Fences I've ever seen in a half Century of watching NFL, and I grew up in LA watching and going to see the Fearsome foursome play and team Youngbloods too, quarter backs make great lunches for hungry D- fences.
I never understood why Minnesota didn't resigned him for a long term deal. He was perfect for that system and had a great relationship with Moss and Carter. All I know is Dennis Green told him to "shop around" after the season. He went to Washington and that was a bad system for him.
"10 cent brain". I think that is purely due to his complete lack of mobility. When you can't move and they're baring down on you there's a tendency to panic and throw it up for grabs. I think most the criticisms of him are simply side effects of his mobility issues. Rich Gannon had a complete rag arm but was super moble took over for him with the Raiders and had way more success. You have to have some degree of mobility, hard to get it done as a STATUE. You can't move and you get scared and panic.
Eduardo Huerta I think that’s due to them not seeing George as their ‘guy’ because hadn’t they just drafted Culpepper? George was already in his 30s by this point and they wanted the QB of the future.
As a life long cowboys fan living in St. Louis is was so glad to get the rams and have a home team again and we were pretty darn bad but then this happen and for a few yrs especially 99 was the most magical NFL yrs of my life! Came out of nowhere it seemed and all the sudden we were one of the best offensive teams of all time. Unbelievable! Wish it could of lasted longer
jeff george's arm was a 270 rifle. that guy was such a savior to that 99 vikings team that was dead in the water early in the year. too bad they couldn't have had 3 or 4 years with him.
My uncle Larry and I were at this game and the NFC championship so awesome and then he took me to Super Bowl 34 something I won’t ever forget The Greatest Show on Turf.
77 yards! Warner to Bruce Warner was so cool on that throw that he looked like he was hanging ten on a long board when his throwing arm came down! Eric Underwood class of 81
When the going got tough, those Minnesota teams tended to fold the tent. Got blown out in the playoffs in '92, '94, '96, '97 and here, and capped it off the next season with the almighty 41-donut game.
To be fair, those Denny era Vikings got beat by superior teams. Only the 94 team that lost at home to the same Bears team the Vikings swept that season, the 98 NFCCG loss to the Falcons, and the aforementioned 41-donut loss, to the Giants could be called upsets. Every other loss of that era was to a clearly better team.
8:55 I can't believe they didn't give that catch to CC. It's Cris Carter! He always makes those catches. Rewatching now, I can't believe the Vikings actually had the lead going into the second half. As a kid I thought they got blown out beginning to end.
Rams 'D' backs were holding Moss a lot at the line of scrimmage and wasn't getting called. Moss got frustrated, but this was only his 2nd year and Moss hasn't mastered the art of fighting off those holds and handchecks the way Cris Carter had.
@Councilman Les Wynan they played week 2 of 98 season. it was a high scoring game then too... and that's before Faulk and Warner/Green. That was good old Tony Banks at qb.
That Vikings defense was garbage. Feel sorry for Moss and Carter having to play on a team that couldn't stop a CFL team. And players giving up so many yards on special teams and other players on offense turning it over.
Barrett Harger strange considering they had Pro Bowler John Randle on the line giving the O line absolute hell. Guy was a beast on the Vikings Defense. However we are talking about The Greatest Show on Turf that they’re going up against here.
I've seen a lot of classic highlights videos, and this one is about twice as long as the average one. which is kind of funny cause that just goes to show you how thi game went.
Yeah that was my intention when making these videos. Usually the NFL will block full games almost immediately after they're uploaded. Plus, nobody really has the time to sit down and watch a 3-hour game. I thought if I could keep as many plays as I could while keeping these videos under 20 minutes than people will have the time to watch them and still get a feel for how each team played.
4:00 What a nice sack ... 20 years ago. What penalty would they call for that hit now? Probably "Leading with the helmet", even though he didn't. But also: Unnecessary roughness. Illegal roughness. Illegal tackle. High tackle. Disorderly conduct. Star battery. Rough play. Horse play. Who knows .... they have some penalty for that hit now, I'm sure.
Talk about a major turn. Rams run 2nd half kickoff back & then the Vikes get jobbed by the refs when Carter made his patented sideline catch & they say it was a bobble. That would've been a 1st down at about the 40 trailing by 4. Who knows? If they go down & even get 3 & make it 21-20, it could be a totally different game from that point on. But they had to punt & Warner & the boys blew them away. If the Vikes did win, they would've played at Bucs & probably somehow would've got shutout, but maybe not 41-0 like the next year at Giants.
I've tried re-uploading it, but the NFL blocks it as soon as the video is processed. I'm currently looking at other websites where I can upload the games that the league blocks. Sorry about the late response!
Pat wasn't the most excitable announcer ever, but damn was he a great one. Some people may not have liked it, but I could still feel the passion in his voice. If anything, I'd say Al Michaels is giving Pat Summerall a run for his money.

Without the kickoff TD and fumbled kickoff the Vikings would have had a chance. The Rams still put up a ton of points, and the Vikings last couple scores were against a prevent. So you might want to slow your roll a bit.
The Rams were playing prevent offense and prevent defense at that point with a substantial lead. To read so much into the Vikings late TD's and defensive stops is idiotic.
Madden when taking about the rams 9-0 game vs the bucs in 1980, “I guarantee you it won’t be that kind of game next Sunday.” 😂 He was right the rams won a shoot out 11-6. 😅

Haha well sort of. I realized most fans don't want to watch a complete 2 and a half hour game, so I took out plays that didn't gain much yardage on first, second, or third down and cut out unimportant things (like punts and touch-backs). The Greatest Show on Turf was somethin' serious, I Loved watching them Play. Them Boyz had Track Meet goin!
Offensive fire power! They were practically unstoppable.
I Loved Marshall Faulk & Issac Bruce. Torry Holt was an Awesome Receiver himself.
If you tuned in 15 mins late you missed half the scoring....they were just incredibly explosive!!
Relentless and unapologetic was Martz. The Rams dared defenses to stop them.
This era was just...so much better. So many Hall of Famers on the Field during this game.

This game was like a video game
That sack at 2 minutes in was a thing of Beauty. Absolutely perfectly planned and executed. Looked straight out of a Madden Game on Rookie.
my oh my Jeff George had the greatest arm talent i've ever seen in a QB
George had a million dollar arm and a 10 cent brain. Probably the best arm of any QB in NFL history, too bad he was a complete headcase.

that Horne return changed the whole game
Manu Ginobilis Bald Spot As true as that is, I still think the Vikes could have come back if they started a possession or so earlier.
No Doubt it did, Big Time! The RAMS poured it on in that 2nd Half!
Minnesota had no chance after that Horne kick-off touchdown return
And I’m sure that “bobble” play took a lot out of them as well.
As a Vikings fan, I was so psyched to take the lead into the half only to give it up 10 seconds into the 3rd.
