  • Fully Restored 1902 Oldsmobile "Curved Dash" by Reinholds Restorations Inc. This car came to our shop from another shop where they already had disassembled alot of the car. So we had a hard time putting it back together. But its all back together. Everything was done in house.

You all did a really great job on that old Olds. The curved dash was the trademark of Oldsmobile’s back in that early era.

The owner gets what he wants. He wants it drivable so things were changed discreetly as possible to make it more reliable.

@The5150Clown yea theres always has to be some compromise. without adapting another carb you would never be able to drive it on the field. But its just this way till the owner is able to find a correct carb to put on.

I think the Budapest Rail road car engine had a period carb that is Apropriate for your engine as well. As long as you get the brass modle carb.

    Outstanding CDO!
Are the wheels the original 28 inch size? Do you know somewhere you can buy those wheels or have them made?

I don't mean any insult, but those early cars seem really shoddy compared to today's standard car. Though I think your car is probably more robust than a Yugo.

In it's day it was considered among the most reliable. It won the first and second places in the 1903 English Reliability Runs, an eight day endurance contest. They also won multiple American endurance contests and races starting in 1901. It was the first car to be mass produced and have interchangeable parts, which would have greatly facilitated field repairs. 19000 were built, which makes it one of the most popular pre-Model T cars.
Modern car engineers would sell their right arm and their firstborn to be able to design a car weighing only 650 pounds.

Hi can you help me identify a vintage car?

    Call a replica a replica,
    the engine is a 1902 -1906
Grays marine engine would have the correct carb.
cooling problem is solved with reer valves,
And the copper radiator made from spiral fined coper boiler tube,
that is fitted in front, uses, spring loaded brass spring tentioned reeds valves in an oak block to port and control coolant flow (much like a radiator thermistat.)
    spring loaded

Unfortunately you are totally incorrect . Model R CDO's 1901 - 1903 are completely different to other year CDO's , model 6C and model B and share very few common parts . Furthermore you obviously have no idea regarding a Curved Dash Oldsmobile cooling system because your statement is completely false in every aspect and is just rubbish .

The engine is clearly 1902 and is NOT a replica ! As for the incorrect Carburetor statement , if you don't know what you are talking about , then don't say anything . CDO's had their own carburetor and started using the very early Holley in the later half of 1903

The top speed is maybe 10 miles per hour. You might be able to ride a bike faster.
