@@46joe Did he mean the verb, "Throw away" as in it is a "throw away society".? Or in the adjective form as in "its a throwaway" society? Either way there is a obvious difference between "through" and threw ....... or throw...! Why are you using capital letters in your reply, are you shouting at me? 🤣
Hey guys, in 1977 I worked with polish guys who were doing an extension to a front door, I couldn't understand why they dug four feet for the footings, and not speaking Polish I never really got it. You guys have after all these years have set me right. Bravo
Worked on a footing in Wraysbury 470mm out of level over about 20m we laid trench blocks on edge one end to get level, that was nearly 20 years ago and they are still standing, if you doubt it I recently saw the guy who worked on it with me and he confirmed that
That foundation guy must have foundthepub before starting work on that foundation. The right dynamic duo is going to step in and make it right. Cheers guys
When Steve was talking to camera in the van, he looks like Elvis, the headrest looks like he has got black hair, pity he can’t swing his hips anymore 😂😂😂😂👍👍👍👍
Another episode of Steve and Alex make chicken soup out of chicken shhhh, looking forward to next one!!! Just followed Alex on Twitch so now have double notifications on
Costs time and money we usually don't get back free work to correct it .soul destroying but you did a great job lads as you always do .don't make the mixers like they used to 👍🙌
Well remember many time having to cope with out or level / square / flat / vertical building work. Also concrete work and builders .... Reminds me that neither electricians nor plumbers should be let within miles of silicone work. They inevitably manage to get silicone EVERYWHERE! Thank God I'm retired. Well done team, love your work.

Nice work Lads and was wondering about the term " that was a right pig of a job!" came from bricklaying years ago because of bad levels? I'm not a brikie by trade but you would hear this sort of language all the time where I live.
Lets be honest most concrete footings are just poored then they leave it for the bricklayer to get it level good bricklayers can get over most problems, thats why there are not that many good one's about.
My mother had her hip replaced a few years back. Changed her life, can't keep her out of her massive garden carrying slabs and building patios at 80+!!
That foundation was ridiculous, the extra time should be charged to the guys who did it or take off their payment. Anyway you got round it guys as per.
Very shortsighted of the owners to put a strange dogleg in the extension merely because they didn’t want to disturb a 1970’s concrete garage that could have been moved….or rebuilt in brick.
could have been much easier on a level surface don't fix the mixer buy a new one its a through away society
I’m hoping this is a sarcastic comment 🫣
@@SteveAndAlexBuild Chaps,
What ever is a "through away society"? 🤔🙄
@@martin2466 I think he means THROWAWAY 🤣🤣

Considering the accuracy of the footings, I think you made a good start there. Cracking job as ever fellas.

6 ft level and steak it out 👌 works for me
Most people could do this just with a level and manage to get it within 10 mil

Yes
Wo ist denn die Sperrschicht gegen Feuchtigkeit zwischen dem Fundament und den Betonblöcken?
At Dpc level
All the weight on two strips of mortar under the block, why not a full bed ?
There is no weight in the cavity
Y el video de la excavación no lo pones? Saludos
No, we didn't do it 🧱👍🏽
The worst foundation we have worked on this year was 12 inches out of level 😂 on a 20 meter 9 inch hollow block wall spent the day cutting
Jeez ! 🫣🤦🏽🧱👍🏽
@ we don’t work for that groundwork company anymore 😂. Have a great week looks very wet

When it was 590 did u say gauge was 510 coz surely its 525/600 so was just a 10 mil grind in that corner

steve when are you getting your hip fixed
good question 🙁
Sorry but can you explain having a pig in the wall ??? Is it to do with the levels
It is 👌🏼🧱👍🏽
It's having one course running into a lower course
