    I have a permanent dock on a river with large freighter traffic. The distance from the water to the dock changes seasonally based on rain and snow fall in Lake Superior and Lake Huron, can be as high as 1 inch below the dock or as much as 4 feet. So a ladder would be needed.. The dock remains in place through the winter but the ice will chew this up. Questions:
    1. Using a sloped swim ladder to make climbing easier for the... "wise people"... how should this be mounted to accommodate the ladder?
    2. Is there some kind of quick disconnect or easy attach/detach device or bracket so I only drill the screws once and connect to a permanently affixed bracket or something?
    Thanks.

      Jon,
      You have a couple of options. In the case where you are looking for stability only and thus only require one KayaArm you can attach the KayaArm to the side of your ladder. This option is discussed in more detail on our website in the Assembly/Instllation section in the detailed Assembly instructions.
      In the case where you want to have Lift & Storage capability you will require two KayaArms. In this instance to accomodate a wider ladder you can build out the KayaArm mounts on your dock for example 2x 2"x8" through bolted to ther rim joist of your dock to place the KayaArm mounting angle on and screw it to the blocking. This will give you 3" projection to accomodate your ladder, although it is dependant on your specific ladder and kayak dimensions I think that might be a good starting point.
      With regards to quick disconnect to remove the KayaArm requires removal of the 4-6 installation screws which took 2 minutes in the video above with a lot of explanation and is easily completd in less than 1 minute...hopefully that meets your definition of a quick disconnect.
      One other thing is that out of the box the KayaArm handles 30" from mounting location to top of water but is easily modified and the video is in the same play list as this video. For more information please see our youtube channel th-cam.com/channels/oV4FWxgBnbVM7EpBNSxJ8Q.html

    How far down are the side screws from the top of the dock?

    • @rwirsig1
      @rwirsig1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They are 4" down from the mounting angle holes so ~5" from the top of the dock.

      @@rwirsig1 Thank you for the quick reply. In the video two kayakarms are being used. Do you think I can get away with using just one?

      @@jinxjeanne For stabilization purposes you only need 1 KayaArm! For storage at the dock you would need 2
