- I sit down and play Turbo Eclipse Turbo for the PlayStation 1. I am on a journey to play through my collection; including going back to games I haven't played in a while. This is a game by Crystal Dynamics that originally was on the 3DO game system, but without the "turbo" in the name.

This looks like a pretty fun game.
these type of videos encourages me to use my nintendo switch more. i typically like a bit of background noise while browsing the web or playing games. i can't get TV signal from my office so it's nice to have long videos playing for this reason.
I remember Total Eclipse and Off-World Interceptor. Both of those games were budget titles for the PS1 had their own issues but I really enjoyed the theme of these. I wish they would re-release them and maybe bring some new gen versions.
Wouldn't class them as budget games. Total Eclipse was a 3D0 title that went multi platform

Ironic that a space shooter is called turbo given the impossibility of actual turbo in space. It makes more sense in Street Fighter II where it’s clearly figurative.

This game looks pretty cool, I think the shooting sound effect would drive me nuts though. Enjoying the humor lately, dry like mine haha
I'm trying to remember but I think I would turn down the sound effects some because that blaster noise was too much and some of the music was pretty interesting to hear.

I'm pretty sure you can remap the D-pad to analogue stick control...even if it wasn't originally supported. I do it all the time on my PS Vita when playing PS1 games. You should be able to do this on the PS3. (At the very least I know you can do it with a PSTV.)
They called it "turbo" cause the game speed is much faster than the 3do version, imo not exactly a good thing cause it makes it a more cheap difficulty than 3do.
Haha it's funny you mentioned its hard to hit enemies and steer too, cause of the faster game speed.

@@GamingTheSystems1 Guessing its why the shots are so hard to dodge too, they look like they move double the speed of the 3do version. Probably a good one to play after you exhausted the challenge of the 3do version.
Getting lined up with the enemy to shoot them is the most difficult thing for me. You have to be in a perfect plane with them, and the controls make that hard to do.
@@GamingTheSystems1 You should do Solar Eclipse next, if you have it. Also Off World Interceptor, which uses the same engine I believe.

It can be used without one, with a few drawbacks.

Came out in 94 on 3DO and ported later to ps1. Why do you say "jaguwire"? . It's Jaguar. I beat the game in one or 2 sittings back the in day.

@@RealHexJoker I dunno man, I don't think it's a big deal. It's probably easier to play off the ps3, and capture etc having native hdmi out and all.
