They are Some UFC who are definitely more exciting than others, so in this video I ranked them based on how exciting they are in the octagon. Let me know if you agree with this list or not
One correction, sean strickland has a very VERY fast pace in the octagon, his style simply doesn't involve throwing finishing shots. But don't mistake the low power style for slowest paced, he probs has the highest SS avg per fights of every champ from recent fights.
finally someone says it, islam is overhated and if he wasnt dagestani/affiliated with khabib he wouldnt get nearly as much hate, this is coming from a huge charles fan as well
@clkgtr12 I kinda understand people not being able to relate to islam and hate how he beats everyone's favorites, but honestly, people always dismiss and hate these Russian Dagestani fighters
I might be one of the only ones who thinks this but honestly I think Strickland has one of the most entertaining fighting styles I’ve seen, he pushes the pace and has a very technical sense about his striking that I like and he’s not scared to go in there and just fight it out for all 5 which I respect and I find entertaining to watch, idk I just prefer more technical defensive striking than fighters who just throw sloppy overhands in the pocket and gas themselves out after round 2 or 3
My adrenaline was going crazy when he beat Izzy for the title. Only other time my adrenaline was that high watching a fight was Oliveira vs Gaethje. Those are my 2 favorite fighters rn.
Volk and Islam are really well rounded which is a great thing but it means that they still wrestle kinda often and like 90% percent of people enjoy striking over grappling ( i mean a ko with a bomb strike or a high kick or sum is just cooler to watch than an armbar ), so yeah the pure strikers like o malley and Alex pereira tend to be more exciting
@j.o.7521 yeah, I'd agree with that. Been wrestling since high school and I'm on the wrestling team in college, so I guess I gravitate towards that a bit more
I feel like the main issue with Leon is that he’s basing his whole run with the belt off of one head kick which was back in March, now it’s the end of the year and he doesn’t seem to have done much (it also doesn’t help that in that Usman fight, he was getting out grappled and out wrestled the whole fight and got the last minute head kick) Leon could be a good champion, he just needs more personality and better challengers, cause his first defense being against someone who hadn’t fought in years isn’t the strongest start to a title reign
Leon has this problem where he only fights at the level his opponents do, he never really presses opponents that aren’t making him work for it. Colby showed no threat, and so Leon showed little desire to finish the fight.
I disagree with the placement of Pantoja, every scrap he gets into is a certifiable banger. I do agree with the whole statement of “no one cares whether he wins or loses” but when I heard his story I really felt for him. He’s one of those guys that everyone sort of forgets about and I feel bad for him as he is that good and deserves the attention. He was working as an Uber driver in the pandemic just trying to get through it and now he’s a world champion
I feel a little different with Sean. I like watching his style and I like his pugilistic boxing. Now since he is champ he’s gonna get some better opponents and he will def put on some shows.
@@areebsuleman3607 easy, nobody remembers any of his fights before charles, charles and volk always have great fights cause they fight like men and they are not sniffers that cut 50 lb
I would say Pantoja is for sure the most exciting, at least in fighting. The dude just walks forward with no decision mentality. Sure, people are not invested emotionally with him but watching one of his fights is for sure a great experience
Are we just going to act like Sean Strickland didn't have an entertaining fight against Jared Cannonier, Israel Adesanya, and a 2nd round finish against Abus Magomedov? Just because he doesn't finish a lot of people doesn't mean its not exciting. Would you say Max Holloway isn't exciting? He goes to decisions most of the time too!
cannonier fight was boring af, same with imavov, abus gassed, and izzy fight was boring, only the stakes were interesting you show the izzy fight to someone who doesn't watch mma, they'll probably be on their phone by round 3
I agree about Makhachev and Pereira. O'Malley basically forced Sterling to make it an exciting fight by fighting defensively 1st round and Sterling admits he made a mistake by charging him like that in 2nd round. We need to see more about him to say he is exciting fighter as a champion, Yan fight was exciting but problem again Yan pressured him if he didn't the fight would be boring and I think clearly won that fight it was a bullshit decision.
If we were to add the female champs to this list, I would put weili just under Pantoja. Very exciting to watch her fights. Grasso is above Strickland if we go only but how entertaining their fight style is.

as a avid desean fan his fight style doesnt excite me very much his only huge slugfest vs against cannonier, I also might be baised as i recently started doing jui jitsu so i tend to like watching more grapplers rather than pure strikers.
Pantoja needs to be higher I have him top 3, him being a flyweight definitely had something to do with this, volk and islam are fs more dominant but pure entertainment I put Pantoja over them though volk is close

Oliveria and Volk fights were fun but that was more Charles and Alex who made them entertaining. Islam doesn’t take risks and literally backpacked volk for most of round 1 and 4
