Wonderful footage Nimal. For some reason I just love the sound the Noisy Friarbirds make, just wish we had them visit more often. Really enjoyed this. 👍🏻👍🏻

Thanks! 😀 Yes they really are fascinating birds. Their call is so energetic and musical. It was really great to see so many in one place. Obviously very happy there!

Great video by U Nimal - unique, unusual and usually unseen by us underlings in birding.

I call them the skeksis (from the movie The Dark Crystal) 😂 Lovely sound, good head for radio as they say!

Play is a key indicator of intelligence. I've never seen this bird before, but it's eyes are amazing!!! I'm in the USA btw. Nice vid ;)

Thanks so much for watching! ❤ I totally agree about intelligence! 😃 They are very clever birds and were communicating with each other & collecting bark off the trees (guessing they were collecting for nesting material)

Watching them is like watching Mynahs in Singapore. So many and so noisy. Interesting.

They are very noisy but it's a cute screechy sound! 😀 Which Mynahs do you have in Singapore? We have the Common Myna that was introduced. And we have our native Noisy Miner (and they are also very social & very noisy) 🤣

@@naturephotographychallenge Javan Myna (introduced) and common Myna. Surprisingly, Javan Mynas are the ones with huge population and the noisy ones. LOL.

@@kimpriority ooh how interesting!! I just looked them up. They do look quite similar to their relatives the Common Myna but darker. They share those angry looking eyes! haha

Are they carrion feeder? I only ask because featherless heads are so often an indicator.

They certainly look like they should be but they are actually part of our Honeyeater family. Their diet is nectar, insects & sometimes fruit.
