This is the most realistic dobro tone I've managed to get out of it so far. Fishman Nashville pick-up into the Jerry Douglas aura pedal into a Laney acoustic amp, DI'd straight into my phone. Better cut the grass tomorrow.

Thinking about getting a Jerry Douglas aura pedal do you think it’s worth it ? Is there that much of a difference in sound quality ?

Hi, yes definitely worth it. The pickup alone doesn't sound like a reso.

Wow! Beautiful tone. Did you install the pickup yourself? Do you have to cut the slots into the saddle? Really nice technique too 👍😎The grass isn't going anywhere.

Thank you. Yes I installed it but got the slots filed professionally and also the hole for the jack socket.

@@MrChrisEaton Ok thanks. I have a 1994 Tut Taylor from the Rich and Taylor era and it sounds pretty good. I don't think it's solid wood though. I'd love to give that system a try. What model dobro are you playing?

@@bernieheveron1929 It's a custom by James Adams out of Texas. Maple, large open interior, Beard legend cone. The Fishman pickup is very good but must be used with the Aura pedal to achieve the dobro ish tone.
