    Nanea’s palaka outfit is the ultimate dream! It’s insane how much it costs, but it’s so cute. I would really love to have Kit’s play dress and her scooter outfit, and of course the legendary chicken keeping outfit. Also, listen, I’m not THAT much older than you, but hearing you say you met your husband the year Kanani came out, your first year of college, made me feel old, lol! I started college in 2004. It’s wild how long ago that is now, but as one of my friends and I always say to each other: time is fake 😂

    Thrilled to see another gamer girl in this space! I’m into the cozy/Nintendo sphere. And my husband LOVES board games. They’re not really for me as much, but I love to see his passion for them. Thanks for sharing! This was great!

      Thank you for your sweet comment! I love it when other doll collectors share my other various hobbies 🤗 Yes.. I’m allll about the cozy games. I’ve been enjoying Dreamlight Valley a lot lately. And Coral Island. Cozy and chill is definitely the way to go for me for the most part. My husband has a switch but I mostly play on PC.

      @@EvelynRoseAG That’s so fun! I’m definitely a Switch gal. 😂 I take it everywhere. I’m currently (slowly) chipping away at Tears of the Kingdom. It’s very different gaming with a baby, but I’m still enjoying it!

      I completely understand! I've recently been getting back into gaming after having two babies in two and a half years.. it's so hard to do things you enjoy when they are so little!

    Thank you for your sincere and thoughtful answers to all of the questions. The ones about the feelings of vulnerability when revealing your love of dolls to others were especially poignant. It doesn’t help that inevitably when doll collecting is addressed in the movies it is a sign of the character being a lunatic or at least feeble minded. 😂 Anyway we all must just press on!

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks Susan! You are so right about the way that doll collecting is portrayed in the media. It’s interesting because people who collect other things (action figures, toy cars, etc) are accepted more easily. Doll collectors are certainly special in that we choose to pursue the hobby for our own happiness in spite of what others may say. We’ve made the choice to surround ourselves with things that make us happy and that in and of itself is so important.

    This was wonderful! I went to Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan and I majored in accounting until I took an actual accounting class and realized that I didn't like it at all. :) I also love numbers and spreadsheets, so I thought I would love accounting, but nope. I ended up changing my major to Psychology just because I wanted the piece of paper and I thought it would be interesting and it was. :) I worked in insurance and then I worked for my church before having my son in 2002. In 2009 we started an on-line fishing tackle business and I do the books for our business. In 2011, we opened a brick and mortar bait and tackle store. I still do all of the books, payroll, scheduling, taxes, etc, and I think it's so wonderful that I'm getting to do exactly what I love even without the accounting degree. I love that you're getting to do what you love as well!! Thank you for sharing so much about yourself. I really enjoyed every minute. :)

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes.. accounting is so much different than that. I actually like general ledger entries and T tables and debits and credits. But the real world isn’t that simple, and you have to deal with auditors all the time. No thanks! 😂 I love that you guys own your own business and wish we could come support you. I don’t fish much anymore but my dad sure does and he’s taken my daughter a few times. Sounds like you wear a lot of hats for the business which can be fun but also very stressful. Thank you for sweet comment and I’m glad you enjoyed it! It was a bit odd talking about myself but it was still fun to do 🥰

    • @bethbacarella
      @bethbacarella ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@EvelynRoseAG I didn't get far enough into the class to even understand debits or credits. Now, when I'm in Quickbooks, if I do something backwards, I can see it and I just go back and switch it. :) The benefits of working for yourself. :) And I have a CPA that does our annual taxes and a Payroll company that does those taxes, so I'm just responsible for the day in, day out stuff. We have a TH-cam channel and my husband does weekly or bi-weekly fishing report videos if your dad ever wants to check that out. The reports are specific to Lake St Clair, but they're still very interesting. We're Sportsmen's Direct. :) Our son is our videographer and they usually do the reports in one take. They have it down to a science. :)

    Our babies are our blessings. My Muffin has definitely helped me over come my fear of social anxiety [ when she's with me]. I take my dolls outside 😂 I've had people driving creepily by watching me. As for taking them to public places. No, not yet. My fear is forgetting all about them in the cart. It was nice getting to know more about you.
    What kind of things do you like to sew & craft?
    Do you have any playsets? [ I know you mentioned getting a coffee shop]

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      They sure the greatest blessings! I like to sew doll clothes, primarily, although it’s a lot more work than it is fun lately. As far as crafting, we love to make little miniatures of things. We don’t have an 18 inch dollhouse yet so I don’t have many play sets but we have quite a bit of 18 inch doll food. I’m hoping to get a kitchen before too long.

    Great job on the video! As far as taking your dolls out, you'll know when you're ready, like everything else in life. You spoke so fondly of your grandmother. That was endearing! Most of us as we age do get to a point, usually more than once actually, when we decide we don't give a flying frisbee what anyone thinks about us. Just *be yourself. The world will adjust* is not just a snazzy saying. It's the truth. Think about an artist who designs dolls for a living. Is that person embarrassed over their talent? I know all of this sounds harsh. But I know no other way to say it. 😊

    • @EvelynRoseAG
      @EvelynRoseAG  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! My grandma was such a special woman, and she led a great example of being herself regardless of what others thought. I've certainly become more easygoing in that sense as I've aged. Instead of caring/focusing on what others think of me, I put that energy into the people and things I love. Why I can't do the same with my doll collecting hobby I'm not sure. Hopefully I'll get there with time. I love your point about an artist who designs dolls.. and also the phrase flying frisbee.. I'll have to start using that one 😂
