THX first of all! BUT Doesn't work for me to. Your tutorial it's wonderfully explained, but I tried step by step this method and download the tools in the link you posted, but the upload option doesn't exist like the video.
Please have you any advice? the cell I'm using to pair to the Gt2: Honor 8 Pro android 9.1.0
P.S. BUT in the "Standard version" of Health app __the last update, there is a funciton named Installation Manager, Is possible to use it/ exploit that road?
@@kharminedemichele6889 Hello Kharmine, I think that the issue is with the Honor phone. The reason is that the Taichi method does not work with Honor/Huawei devices :(
The reason is because HMS is part of HCR - Huawei Core Services.
BUT if you create a chineese ID and use the latest health apk, you will be able to store at least one custom face, but sadly, no multiple.
@@VelianSpeaksTech Thx Velian, yup is a pity :( The Gt 2 is the best in battery life and performance at the moment, but I especially need to mount a custom watchface that I elaborated for a "scientific" test measurement. So I ended up my odissey of attempts by returning it to the store.
Any advice on the current market of Wear Os? I really need a wearable watch moddable in the watchface "design"
@@kharminedemichele6889 Honestly, I migrated to Active 2 (Samsung Galaxy), it`s perfect, thoudands of faces and apps and everything, BUT 1 day 1 day and a half battery:"( But it`s the best in the Android world.
Else... if you are looking for a true sportmans watch, then Garmin but prices are.... sky rocketing.
I dont why i dont get the option to upload watch faces when i tap the 3 dots
Several people said that it would not be possible to have the watchface upload option showing up, when pressing the three dots.
Well, obviously, these are the three limitations of this guide:
- no Huawei devices supported (as HMS is part of the Huawei core system and can't be run from within TaiChi)
- no support for older Android version (someone said, Android has to be version 9 or up)
- device has to be set to English language
Nevertheless, I managed to get to the upload function for custom watchfaces, using my "old" Sony Z4 tablet, running Android version 7.1.1.
What I did, was the following:
- installed everything following this video - THANKS A LOT FOR THIS GREAT GUIDE!!!
- when opening Huawei Health app from within TaiChi, I logged into it, using my Chinese account credentials
- After pairing with my GT2, I was at first missing the upload function for custom watchfaces
- Short before "kicking the whole project", I did one last try and went into the Health app > account > check updates
- an update to version 10.1.0.511 was found and I installed it
- Voilà, after that, suddenly I was able to tap the three dots and find the upload option - hope that helps
For those who get the message "unsupported file format" try to upload the .hwt file from a different directory. Move the files .hwt from the downlods to another folder and upload the file from there

So for those who cant get it done- I first tried it in my honor mobile with the preinstalled health app- i was not able to install the Huawei mobile services at all. i skipped that and tried my luck with modifying huawei health in Taichi. it didnt worked either. then sombody pointed out in comments that it doesnt work in Huawei mobiles. so i tried with oneplus and everything worked.
At last when i was this much close of installing watch faces, when i tried opening my existing watch faces it said no devices connected. i then tried restarting my phone as well as watch and then it worked!!!!
Great guide, thank you for posting. I decided to use an old phone in order to keep the official apps on my daily one. At first it didn't work, I wasn't getting the option to upload in the Health app. I even created a Chinese Huawei ID, but no luck. Then I realised, my phone would be too old, Samsung Galaxy S5, which is on Android 6. So I repeated the procedure on a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge, which is on Android 8 and it worked perfectly. I used the Chinese Huawei ID, not my main one.Now the only problem is to navigate through the Telegram feed where there are way too many faces, but I like few of them. Still managed to find some excellent ones.

BTW, we just found that calls received on Google duo (voip) gets pushed to the watch automatically. Although while dialing from phone you cannot switch to the watch.
Other than duo, I have not been successful getting calls pushed to watch via voip. Seems it's something from apps side, hopefully more apps take advantage of at least recing calls from watch.

Yeah, me too, somehow I managed to get past the black screen but it keep saying unable to log in due network problems or something like that, made the process again and got back to the screen, I tried to clear the cache and storage but no success. :C
I was first afraided to mess the phone or get virus but the working positive comments were convincing 😁😁. First i didnt find my watch even tried everything but i needed to disconnect and unpair it from watch and after that everything worked. Thanks so much for so good guide step by step and not too fast
No virus, don't worry. Adding new custom faces is even allowed within Huawei beta health app, but no multiple, only one at the time. And that's why we use the Taichi method.
@@VelianSpeaksTech yea but searching internet you never know what those zips have inside. Just wondering how they dont have this taichi program in original with to have many many watches. Just too bad the limit of saved watches is kinda low . Also realised most of normal clock skins are like its hard to see the time when arrows has same colour than background

No upload face might be either your phone is Huawei or Android version is not compatible. Android version must be at least 7 and above
Finally have found something that just works, out of the box... without any if's or but's, Chinese registrations etc. It has worked like a charm on my antique Samsung Galaxy S5 installed with some Android 5.0 and returned from the dead's drawer as I'm on iPhone and can't do this on my phone. It was really slow on that old S5 but otherwise - worked without a glitch. Now I have finally added my personally developed watch face to my Huawei Watch GT2 and of course - any other custom watch face if I want. Thanks for the detailed guide and especially the full software pack!

intersting. I followed the steps and i dont have the faces available in my huawei app. HMU did not prompt me to make an account, it just goes directly to the health app.

EDIT: to fix this, please go into airplane mode at the start of the process. enable wifi and bluetooth, BUT DO NOT ENABLE CELLULAR NETWORK. when asked which country you are in when huawei services loads, set it to UNITED KINGDOM and NOT to canada.

When installing the custom watch face (HWT file), please navigate manually first to internal storage of your phone and then to downloads. Only after that select the HWT file and it should work. Enjoy!

@@JGoran88 You know there is still one options. It will not be that convenient and no multiple watch faces.
Delete everything. Install the health from my package. The idea is to have health app beta version. In the beta version you can still select one custom watch face and apply it. But no multiple. But still something.

Great video and easy to follow. Finally I can get nice watch faces on my GT2. Tried on Huawei p10 & p30 phones not working then tried on Xiaomi phone, it works. After install watch faces then swap back to p30, the watch faces still there on my watch.

after I've installed my favorite watch faces, I deleted Huawei Health and reinstall that last version. So I realize that I can still install watch faces in the huawei health app :) . that's so good....
Great video Velian although I could sense you wanted to crunch as much info and tasks in 10 mins. Nevertheless, reasonably straight forward to follow. I have 3 questions,
1) Can you install more than 1 custom hwt file at a time?
2) if you can where will these appear in the Watch Faces function - perhaps under "Mine"?
3) How can you delete an installed hwt watch face if the these don't appear in the listing assuming they would not appear under the "Mine" tab?

1) Yes. On my GT2 I am able to delete all faces and store 30 HWTs
2) Yes, they appear in your tab mine. Though there is a bugtand some custom faces are not displayed, or displayed with broken visualization. There is a fix for that.
3) From mine tab as if you delete any stock faces.
@@VelianSpeaksTech many thanks for the swift reply. Shame as none of what you describe I see on my Oppo Reno as the Huawei App is not complying as in your own phone. Perhaps will make a fresh complete reinstall..
One of the guys here with an OPPO found out that this was working for him, give it a try:
Unpair device
1. Uninstall huawei health
2. Uninstall HMS Core
3. Uninstall Multiple Face
4. Uninstall Taichi
And
1. Install Normal huawei health
2. Install HMS Core latest version
3. Log in with Chinese ID
4. Pair Watch
5. Select what Clock Face Mine i want delete.
It finally worked for me on my honor magic 2. I'm from the USA so I had to airplane mode before opening the health app and picked the UK and register my email instead of number and it finally worked

Got this to work finally. I used a Samsung note 4 running Android 6. First I tried Virtual exposed but it kept crashing so I went the tai chi method and it worked and I can install mutliple faces on the watch now

I have already instaled only H.health.
First i will explore the watch and how it works with the H.health app. Then i will proceed with your high estimated Tuto.
I hope i will succeed, and all goes smoothly without any issues.

For those who facing issue of health app getting stuck. Install health app from desc link. Latest ver gets stuck. Installed and successfuly used with gt2e. It wrks

Try the other option with only one custom watch face. Download Huawei Health beta app. With a Chinese id, you should be able to upload one custom face! No multiple only
Unfortunately in my TaiChi app there is no "Health" app nor HMS (Huawei P30 pro EMUI 10)

So helpful but next time i suggest the music background is really disturbing. I Suggest to turn off or put to the lowest volume aa possible. The aim is to pass the information across not to listen to disturbing sound. However i had the message across after i had to concentrate with several watching. Thanks.

I have everything what you told but when I try to upload the custom watchface it says unsupported format. Note i have latest version of huawei health app and hms. Is that a problem . Please tell me the fix . My I'd is register for india is that the issue?

Worked sort of for me, i used latest health app 10.0.5.332 and it works but once you click install it keeps installing the same face until the space is full and it can be hard to get them to list in health app to delete them so best to stick to old beta health for now.

I think every blogger forgot to tell you the you have to go to Huawei page and register for the faces of not some of us won't see it. I have Realme X2 PRO and did every step and nothing .

Huawei phone and Taichi method dont work. But this is only for multiple faces. Still with beta Health app you can upload 1 custom face.

Indeed, it works easy and reliable. But - Truesleep function stopped working. It works on the watch, though the sync with the Health app is gone. Hurray...
Load faces, remove and Taichi and install regular apps, this will do it.
