My grandfather was born in 1899 in the former Czechoslovakia. He was a very talented, Slovak blacksmith. He immigrated to Canada in the 1920s. Everything he made, including hunting knives, axes, tools, even valaska were all beautiful and of very high, hand-made quality. I have one of two valaska he made in 1957. My cousin has the other one. A very beautiful walking stick, axe, tool and weapon. Thank you for sharing!
Just one correction I need to make. My grandmother Zuzanna was born in 1899. My grandfather Joseph was born in 1898.
YOU MAKE IT LOOK SO EASY ADAM,BE WELL MY BROTHER!!! GREETINGS FROM TEXAS!!!
Thank you my brother
Valaska! A piece of history thats passed down through the ages. Lifetimes of men past and still it's here. Terrific!!👍✌️🙏
Love the content of old weapons keep them coming my friend
Yes! The perfect helper for underway. With a nice sheath, it is also a handy shooting stick or to steady your binoculars.
Central european excalibur! Love from Slovakia!
Our national hero, Juraj Janosik, bassically our Robin Hood used valashka and pistols
That is a very versatile tool/weapon!! So cool! Thanks for sharing my friend!
Thank you for stopping by my friend :)) yes very cool and traditional axe
I used to always do this for fun when I was little (prolly didn't do it right tho:)
Medieval style :)) see you tomorrow my friend
Oh my god, you mentioned janosik, LOVE YOU SO MUCH
You're the man. You seem like a great guy to hang with. I got my daughter a bunch of throwing knives, katana and she is having a blast.
In Hungary we called it Fokos and usually there was either a hammer head or a spike on the other end of it.
I love this axe, it's so epic and wonderful :)
Looks to be very well made ! That handle didn't make a sound, would last a lifetime :)
Probably could use it as a spear for fishing in streams also. Pretty cool axe
It has so many functions!
Very cool. A walking axe.
I wondered about their design. The axehead is very narrow. This makes it less useful as a tool, but more useful as a weapon (when you want to penetrate armour, or a thick cow skull)
It's similar to the tomahawk in that it trades some wood processing ability for a lower weight. Shepherds, trappers, rangers etc. all have pretty minimal wood needs when on the trail. It's more than enough for survival. More traditional axes stayed at home unless you were out there to built a permanent settlement.
Hey friend Adam the stingers i orderd from acejet arived 2 weeks ago the throw amazing thanks for youre so many tips and throw video's shame i have only 4 meters throwing distence but thanks anyway greetings Manik
My valachian grandma gave me one, when I was kid and I lost it. Im still super embarrassed and mad about it, for many reasons. It is part of my culture, , and it was given to be connected with it. I also love weapons, so I would actually train with it many ways. I can buy one, but it won´t have same value for me.
Love your content bro 💜
Thank you bro :)
very interesting, I hope you will present other old tools that can be used as weapons.
Hello. Another Kool Review Bro.
Příště taková videa musíš dělat ve vhodném oblečení. V tomto případě Valašský kroj. 😁
So cool
Can't wait dude
That's an awesome ax, I just modified a shingle hammer into an awesome throwing-ax that I call my Mad Max Ax and I made 2 mod videos about it.
Would be a great addition to my collection!
Hello stay safe and healthy new friend
That’s an awesome axe.
So cool axe and you ar so best throwing
Wow,so amazing and lovely 😍
It's pretty similar to polish "ciupaga" a mountaineer's axe.
You mentioned larger walking axes in this video, do they go by other names?
Watching you all these skills made me want to be like you... Im dying to be there and do like you do
How would you throw a boomerang..? Cool videos very interesting
good job nice axe shooter
Awesome axe mon ami! Cool Man😉
In hungary we call it „fokos“! Very nice Video greetings from hungary!
Throw some butter knives :) I took one from my silverware drawer and made a point on it and it actually works pretty good😆
Incredible
this is a great video - what is the background music?
Uff to som nevedel, že valaška sa dá použiť na šplhanie po stromoch. Znova som sa niečo naučil. 😊
Radši nezkoušet :D
@@AdamCeladin Už mám nejakých 48 tak si radšej dám pohov. 🤣
Wow, that axe is a multi-tool !!!
Ace climbing?? Lit
Lets go :))
what arrow like throwing knives would you suggest? you still using vengeance arrows?
yes go with Vengeance or Top Dogs! Top Dogs are really one of my favorites at the moment :)
Nice one
Very Dangerous man with the axe
I wonder if I’m the second person, to comment will I get a lot of like on this post??
You got like from me :)) Good job ,))
I agree thats a good weapon bro. Watching from Marlon Dwarte. New friend
looking like Polish highlanders axe called ciupaga
Salut l'ami 👍👍👍
Nice background music
Great video though. Continue doing so for your greatness. team marlon
Now that is as great a zombie killer as a samurai sword. Maybe carry both.
Similar head to the Franceska but an axe so long would be a lot more hard hitting.
Climb climb climb
I have idea for a better target other than its just a piece of wood.
Make it have an edge of light metal to use to sharpen the knifes.
Plus it can have a portable colored part to expand to the outside for a extra target
Jánošík Valaška slovensko🇸🇰🇸🇰🇸🇰🇸🇰🇸🇰❤️
Decent shaft!
Wait are you climbing the axe or the tree ;)
tree with the Axe ,))
historic infos are off a little bit
shepherd axe is instead a very ancient weapon trace back to even bronze age and maybe before it according to some discoveries
shepherd axe was very common tool and weapon among the nomadic cattle herders of eurasia from finno-ugrics and proto-turks then scythians xiongnu parthia and then later on introduced to europe by the huns avars and ofcourse especially the magyars which got wide spread because of them during the carpathian conquest and later raids (same way how the saber also got introduced to Europe but thats a different story)
because of its long shaft it was used from horse back to hit people and was effective against armor also used as a walking stick and self defense tool against wolves and humans and to chop small wood for fire and some versions is tilted slightly downward to serve as a "sheep hook" (juhász kampo in hungarian)
for americanoids to give you the best cousin for it imagine its a tomahawk but with shaft double its size
the word valaska even is a corruption for the hungarian word fokos (pronounced : fok-osh) it was wide spread in slovakia since pozsonyi csata
new supporter from marlon duarte
👍🏻my like button is glitchy
i fucking love u bro❤🔥
5:36 whats that on the tree?
Brother ! can't wait 🔥🔥🔥
it's 🇺🇦 Ukrainian traditional Axe 🪓
🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟🤟
Aweesome brother :)) here its traditional axe too...it was spread over several countries .)) really cool axe !!!
@@AdamCeladin this video shows this very difficult ax to operate 🤙 short blade and long handle, it is very difficult (like golf stick) but under all circumstances Carpathian highlanders used it not only as a weapon
Great video 👍 📺🎞️🎥
Ты про клеврик?
Hello.
Hello my friend :)
:)
I wouldnt throw it point first. My aim is rubbish so id miss, my enemy would laugh at me, pick it up and kick my ass. Unless I had shotgun as backup.;)
Needs a leather collar handle protector.
Gua
I wait for: Hello my friends, So when you run out of ammo, what will you do? Yeah!!! Today i will teach you how to throw a gun, So let's get started!! :))))
⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️⚔️❤️👌👍😁
3:10 omg 😱 what happens when the axe head come out?
You fall. Then you get up. And fix the axe.
A Viking bearded axe would cut that in a million pieces, that's not a axe it's a hatchet with a long handle.
Not sure of the climbing method 😂
"Valaska-theTail-On-the-Donkey" in the north east grove. Elimination tournament round 5 starts at 2:30.
🙉
why don't you send the knives to Mexico?
Minuto 4:30 alguien corre por los árboles de la izquierda 😐
Yeah, some people like jogging in the woods
Don't make a live tree suffer with stupid things, please
Stupid is your comment...that tree is long time dead
@@AdamCeladin The comment is not stupid. I trust in you that you only use designated targets or dead standing trees, but many of your viewers who are just starting the knife throwing or axe throwing hobby might think it is not a big deal for the tree if some metal objects cut through the bark a couple of times, but it absolutely is. Also of course if you looked closely at the target tree in the video you could see that it was standing dead and the fresh green was from branches of different trees close by, but I think we knife/axe throwers can't communicate enough that living trees are NEVER for target practice.
Enough with the fake accent
