    ---------------------------------------------------

I really wonder how the historical ones were made... without modern materials they must have had some other clever way of creating that dome shape.

It's amazing how you were able to know the correct measurement of each wood rings to create that dome shape.

when i did mine, i couldnt coat it all, as my fake leather just wouldnt work, so i have a small gap with the rim and the dome, this one is really good!

Can you please post somewhere a more detailed scheme, or maybe some sort of blueprint of the shield?

Looks great! How tall is the shield from the base to the center of the dome?

Heey! Thanks. This one is 15cm deep and 16.5cm tall, each layer was made by 15mm plywood.

Boa tarde. Seria possível fazer usando ganchos históricos (ou seja, forjados, e não apenas ganchos de construção) que seguram o sistema de suspensão na parte traseira do escudo?

Oi, Alfredo. A gente poderia comprar estes ganchos de um ferreiro.

Hey! Thanks Man. What would be the proper way to do It?

I tried this method. I spent 7 nights after work and almost 5 hours each night just sanding the outside. I wound up throwing it away and buying one.

Hey! The secret is stop when you see the other layer rim.

I think this would have been so much better with either a voice over of explaining everything or just speaking while doing it with the music lowered.
    Awesome stuff nevertheless!

Can I just ask what tools you used to do the shaping and sanding on this? I'm trying to apply the process to a hoplomachus shield and such sanding tools as I have just won't cut it.

    • @Daniel1Albanio
      @Daniel1Albanio  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Heey! Sure. I'm not about how my tools are named in Englis, but I will try.
First: Eletric Plane (?). Not a AIRplane, a plane. Can you understand what is this? You can search for 'Plaina Elétrica' Images on Google.
Second tool, to make the final details: eletric grinder

@@Daniel1Albanio Thank you, that really helps, although I should have guessed. I'll be getting a plane then (with me, it's a “Hobel“). This is the first really promising method to make the shield I need 🤘😁🤘
