My brother and I hydroplaned directly into a concrete wall head on going about 40 and we were both perfectly fine and his civic was completely trashed. He is a terrible driver and if not for how safe this car is we would both be dead. So from personal experience I can say yes, this car is very safe. His was a coupe as well, I believe the Hatchback got a higher safety rating.

rayyrayykun yeah, hope the engineers got all the safety stuff right. Because if anything failed they have to go back to factory and then do the crash tests all over again. Which is is good for consumers really.
Vloggingadventureswithrob well I love the Civic but this was pretty interesting to watch... Although the smart little thing stopped itself from colliding with most of the stuff!
It's pretty amazing! I've seen better tho sadly, too bad not all cars are perfectly safe in those crash tests, obviously at higher speeds they'd also break... Some have the engine going in the cabin crushing the drivers feet.
@@CL4SSiCS Nope, Side pole test has almost no injury risk, the problem is rear passenger protection. the front driver and passenger scored 92%, whitch is really good results. but this civic only got 67% Rear passenger protection score, so it rated 4 star rating. also this civic has reassessmented again, then it got 5 star rating for now. It did amazing I suggest you buy the Civic right away whether Civic Sedan, Hatchback, Coupe, Si, and Type R it's all amazing! 🚗🏎🚘💨🚄
I own one which i bought brand new 7 months ago. Its been to wheel alignment 4 times yet it doesnt want to go straight. 2 weeks ago i dropped it off at the dealer for the first service because when you drive the damn thing a bit " sporty" (fast) it wants you to service it every 6 months. Yesterday, when i was gonna go to work it threw a engine warning light. Opened the hood to find the top crankshaft position sensor cable ripped off. Got a rental golf 2017 year model and that damn thing goes straight, is more comfortable, infotaiment is light years better, seats are so much better, quality feels much better. My first and last Honda. Thats all i have to say.
I have the highest grade 10th gen 2016 sedan but I wouldn't trust the emergency stopping. With cruise control sometimes the car can misjudge and literally speed up to a stationary vehicle ahead. I think it's because the sensor is on the left bottom side instead of the middle so if it's sight slips to the left from the car ahead it may think there's nothing there Don't really think it's a defect but the car overall is amazing and good value for money. Just remain aware as with all cars

Not tryna be disrespectful but how did your brother manage to hydroplane a fwd car at 40mph, he must’ve been driving on bald tires or something.
