Only as long as those within the Church stay true to Her teachings and Her Master, Christ. The Old World in the 20th century is proof that even Orthodox Christians can apostatize in genocidal ways.
I'm Colombian Orthodox 🇨🇴☦️ i wish the ancient faith would have arrive sooner to the new world but i'm glad more people is discovering Orthodox Faith now Χριστόσ Ανέστη ☦️
As a former, life long Southern Baptist myself, my dissatisfaction with evangelicals began in the seventies, when I, as a teenager started to see the many discrepancies that are rife within this faith. I had the strong desire to go into home missionary work which never transpired, but I later was ordained a deacon in the late nineties, thinking, wrongly of course, this event would help to refocus my faith in this errant mindset. I eventually had enough, and along with my family, we stopped attending church all together in 2013. I had grown nauseous, spiritually, of being a part of something that was based on human focused spirituality, gluttony, materialism and such. For five years we never darkened the doorway of any church, and I even felt guilt for not attending. Even so, I knew the evangelicals, the Southern Baptists in particular, were in great error and I never wanted to be a part of that faith again. In 2017, I came across a YT video on the Pascha service in Russia, and I cannot explain it, but I was deeply moved. Two years later, I found an Eastern Orthodox Church just a few miles from where I live and my wife and I were chrismated into Eastern Orthodoxy a year and a half ago with no regrets. Orthodoxy requires effort on the part of those who are faithful and is not for the spiritually faint of heart. I have since found that evangelicals, though most are good people, are spiritually lazy. If you, especially those who are evangelical, are comfortable where you are, I would say to stay put. Also, we as Orthodox Christians do not worship the saints, Mary, or anyone else. We worship God and God Alone. We venerate the saints ask for their help going to God to help with our needs as we would go to any flesh and blood Christian. Orthodoxy and its practices go all the way back to the times of the apostles in the first century A.D. Protestants have only been around for 500 years, and evangelicals for maybe 150. So, what was the true faith in the centuries before that? Protestants and evangelicals seem to have an elitist mindset when it comes to spirituality and I, for one, am glad to be done with them and am glad I have found the one, true faith.
@@PoconoMountaineer405 we ask the saints to pray for us as we would ask any other living, breathing person. We pray to and worship God and God alone. We venerate the saints, not worship them, there is a difference.
Even as a fellow Protestant, I too noticed this elitism in my Brothers in Christ, and so I’ve found a Lutheran Church who is closer to the more traditional Christian faith. The only reason I am not Catholic nor Orthodox is because they treat some teachings made by fallible humans as scripture, but since such teaching are often harmless, their dedication to Christ still shows and I treat them accordingly.
Catholic here, the modern catholic church really needs to take notes on our orthodox brethen. You have preserved your beautiful traditions and liturgy. I pray one day we unite again.
I love to hear this! Instead of division in denomination, instead look for unity! I pray one day we can go back to the one true church before Christ comes again
We do follow the liturgy in some areas! Byzantine Catholic here. His Holiness, Pope Francis II recognizes us as Catholics and if you were to visit one of our churches you can partake in the Eucharist and Confessionals!
@@johnl9361in the beginning there were just 12. And when St. Constantine converted to Christianity, Christians made up only ~5% of the Empire. God’s Will will always succeed
@agape.8 It would be one thing if America were a nation of pagans, like in the Roman Empire. However, there is an estimated 140 million Protestants. Ironically, it is easier to convert pagans than other denominations.
So strange hearing these beautiful hymns in English! This is crazy lol tomorrow I'm going to my local Orthodox church ☦️ and this was posted. Love the videos man! Edit: I am beginning conversion to Greek Orthodoxy
It's even stranger hearing them in an Appalachian bluegrass style chant. Without the twanging banjo and screeching fiddle of course. 😂 Still pretty cool nonetheless.

@@matthewbrown9029 Gotta love your lies lmao. Have you ever encountered actual irl Orthodox Christians or are you just around the internet LARPers who have never touched grass or even set foot in an Orthodox Church?
@matthewbrown9029 not sure who you've been talking to brother, we hold all of our brothers and sisters in christ in high regard; orthodox, catholic, or protestant.
We had so much potential but unfortunatley my home land wants nothing to do with God. We have kicked Him out of every aspect of our nation. We said get out, and of course with His loving respect He has for us, He stepped back. Pray for these 50 states!
I look at the rejection of God in the West and I can’t help but think of the book of Judges. A generation comes and rejects God, he takes a step back and this results in hard times falling upon the nation, then in their distress the people turn their hearts back to God and he hears them. May the hearts of Americans, Canadians, British, and many others return to The Lord and know his peace again.
He is not gone yet. He is with the people still. We may end up with half a country, but it will be a half with God, and one without. That may be the best solution. But what do we do? We pray for a whole country under God.
To Jesus, we are all the same, whether we're protestant, whether we're catholic, and whether we're orthodox, it doesn't matter to Jesus, for we all believe in him, but the two comments above Am3rican's don't seem to be made by people who truly knew God. Though I would not be one to judge, as there was a point in my life where I thought I was doing good, but I truly never knew him.
Indeed Dempsey. Now is a time for brothers to put aside our differences, for the wolves are gathering outside and may soon be at the door. May God be with us all my brethren.
