Tell you what, as soon as the state government gets the new Australind train up and running (btw glad they are preserving the old Australind), and as soon as they've finished playing building train tracks in Perth, they should look into opening up passenger railway service across regional WA. Like reviving old servicing from Albany, Geraldton, even as far as the old Kalgoorlie-Esperance line. That would be awesome. I read an article about three years ago about the idea of high speed regional WA.
@thequartersfooty There was an article in the West Australian newspaper today, 10th June. About a push to get passenger rail to Albany again. Amazing how many regional passenger rail services there are, in QLD, NSW and Victoria.
@@westernaustraliatrainscene5689 Its amazing that the three states you mentioned are more developed in that field, given they are the three most populous states in Australia. Western Australia is on its way to 3 million people, 4th most populated state and we are left behind in regional rail services, with only lets say right now the Perth-Kalgoorlie line (Given two additional services are along that line the AvonLink & MerredinLink) as the Australind out of action temporarily. We're so spread out between the major centres its ridiculous. You put in the networks, you take more cars off the highways, its a cheaper option that flying. Would love to see it happen in the next 5 years.
Well with urban sprawl and rapidly growing populations surely they could, or at least build some Prospector like railcars for these journeys. Also, this could reduce the amount of road accidents with more people taking the train and less traffic
I mean look at QLD, they have services to Cairns, Charleville, Mt Isa, Longreach, including an everyday tilt train that services Bundaberg and Rockhampton. NSW has services to Armidale, Moree, Casino, Grafton, Dubbo, Broken Hill, Griffith including many stops along the Sydney Melbourne route. Then Victoria you have services to Swan Hill, Echuca, Maryborough, Ararat, Warrnambool, Shepparton, Bairnsdale, Albury. So why not do it for WA who has a rapid growing population
Rail Heritage WA have mentioned that it is intended to be on static display. Though haven't ruled out, operating the ADP in the yard, at a future time.
Yes, the volys were watching it. And a small skid steer, was used to stoke the burn heap, whilst they waited for the PTA guys reattaching the cables etc to the bogies.
Thank you for the footage
@@CJTheAllrounder And thank you for watching.🙂

It would certainly encourage people to live in regional WA.

Do you think it will operate around the yard and give passenger rides or will it just be on display?

@@westernaustraliatrainscene5689 Oh ok cool, thanks 👍
Anyone keeping an eye on the smouldering pile of ash? That’s a bushfire waiting to happen.

Yo interesting I’m a transperth fan and METRONET fan 🤣
That's cool. You should add Transwa, with their regional rail cars and road coaches, too. Thanks for watching.
@@westernaustraliatrainscene5689 I’ve been on one of the transwa trains to pinjara
ain't that just like LIFE ? You think you're a PLANE, spend your whole working life being a TRAIN, only to finish up being a TRUCK ??!!! WTF ??
