21:10 - honestly think the issue is people don't realise they can delete buildings - it was literally years before I realised I could actually delete things.
Im always a bit suprised people don't realise that.. I don't play the game but I remember 8 year old me absolutely adoring creating a bunch of people and houses...and then delete it all for that satisfying and honestly hillarious death sound and destruction sound... Would sometimes kill all of my villagers in order to get more army...only to also delete houses because well..the people that lived in them were now dead so why not remove em?...then got confused why I couldnt create more army guys.
I have an idea for a new game mode for this game, like a juggernaut type situation, 1 guy starts out with 30k ish materials with a medium treeline blocking the others. And he faces 3 or 4 other players. So it's 3 or 4 v 1. Something like that.
Close game. Was fun to watch. Diverse players as you mentioned which made it even more interesting. Wasnt expecting much from green with those uptimes for example
I can sit here and listen to this man talk about this game and whatever banter comes to mind forever. Im getting into AoE but never played online, just some skirmish games and losing hard to AI moderate in most games, especially land games. Hoping Ill soak up some sorta knowledge but Im having a lot of fun with AoE2 so far. It reminds me of Cossacks: European Wars and that was my jam back in the day
The few times Hamburger has been in 1 v 1 ladder it's good for gaining 150 to 200 elo. Incans are OP. Use house bonus for earlier dock. Gather like 12 stone and drop 2 towers on wood line while focusing on navy. It only takes about 8 fires to totally blockade opponent. Then all the fish give good castle time where you transport tanky vills to drop a castle and build barracks. I think this is the only map I've won with zero casualties which makes me extremely happy. We are rough on poor vills and expendable army
Not played AOE2 since the 90s I guess,...but man I used to get up at 5am to play this shit before school when I was 7 or something haha. Fuckin loved this game for years, watched alot of your casts now veeery very tempted to buy back in and do some multiplayer.

So I’ve gone down to 900 ELO team game (I have played a total of 15 team games. I have played 11 1v1s). I have 120ish games played across custom/unranked AND ranked. Every time I check the AOE stats pages for the players I’m facing, they have hundreds and hundreds of games in ranked. Recently played someone who had 1600 (ONE THOUSAND SIX HUNDRED) games AS PERSIANS. Like idk. Just ranking by ELO sucks for newish players. Starting out and immediately playing against people who have a thousand games under their belt does not seem fair lol.
If low ELO legends and my own experience have taught me anything, it's that number of games doesn't necessarily have any bearing on skill level. At 900 1v1 ELO I have only ~30 games played, yet I regularly win against people with 400+ games who make baffling errors for that level of experience. My macro sucks a lot, but watching T90 has made my game knowledge appear to be a lot better than the other people in this bracket, and that makes up for a lot. In one game I was 20 vils down at castle time and still managed to win due to the enemy's decision making and micro, which should just not happen.
If their Teams are "noobs" and their ELO is only 800, would you say that the burger will be "UNDERDONE" ? Ha ha ha 😁 Was this game a "hold" or actually a "throw"? 🤔 How many games' experience do these Players have? AGAIN! It's the lack of upgrades that really is amazing to me... 😧 M 🦘🏏😎

The first RTS I ever played was Rise of Nations, which has a delete button, so I was really confused when AoE2 didn't have that visible

When I lose to many times, I like having a break, and watch a low elow legend because it reminds me that I'm not that bad
