I'm just excited to see you using actual weight when describing the haul. Fun fact: A butt load is an actual unit of measurement. It comes from when farmers would sell pork to markets. They would pack pork shoulder in old wine casks (called butts) and they would supply grocers with a number of them. So the grocer could order a butt load and end up with a cask full of pork shoulder that would fill the barrel. That's why the shoulder is called the butt roast. It was just easier to order in those units and it kept the name.

This made my day!!!! I tell my bf all the time, it's 2 butt to foot long or one shoulder to wrist. Welllll, you know how long my arms and legs are!! And when I get home you can have a good look if you're unsure. He laughs every time and loves to tell people that I measure that way. 😂😂

Amy and Dwayne, you are indeed fortunate! Our local Aldi just outside Brisbane, Queensland, uses a compactor for their rubbish. I can only imagine what goes into it.

Soak your produce in vinegar water for a bit once you get it home-then scrub as needed. I do this for veggies in case there’s any little critters hanging out.

Here in 🇨🇦I pay almost $7 for 2L or 1/2 gal of that lactose free milk, and to see it in the trash, with almost 2 months of life left in it, makes me so 😡 Why don’t stores donate stuff like that…it makes no sense, when there are plenty of people out there who could certainly put it to good use instead of just being wasted. So glad FD & FM save so much good food from being wasted. ❤xo

Great haul! Have another recipe for you to try. Haven't tried it yet, but a friend of mine did. She said it's wonderful! Anyway, you've heard of beer can and soda can chicken, well this one has the same principle, but you use a pineapple. You trim your pineapple down to about a 2 to 2 1/2 inch base. You cut around that base, but don't cut through the pineapple. Next you're going to cut down to the base, slices of pineapple leaving a round stem looking part like the size of a beer or soda can, being careful that this stem look piece stays in tack. Next, slide you chicken over the stem looking piece of the pineapple, just like you would if you were using a can. Put it on the grill, indirect heat and cook around 1 hour and 35 to 45 minutes. While the chicken's cooking, you can take the pineapple you cut off, cut it up and cook it, pulverize it to form a glaze and glaze the chicken about 10 minutes before you take it off the grill. A nice salad or maybe the green beans I shared the recipe on would go great with this pineapple chicken. I just thought of you, knowing you rescue so many pineapples sometime. 😋

Every time I go grocery shopping and look at prices and then see what they throw away it sickens me, I know that the meat and veg pack at my store sells fo r at my store it is 24.99$ unbelievable. Keep doing your shopping in the dumpsters , you got it going on .
