LOVE your stitching and finishes Karen! That quilt...... is by far the most amazing quilt I've ever seen. I can't even begin to imagine the time and work you put into making it. Thank you for sharing all the details!!💗
Thank you so much for your supportive comment on my quilt. It was certainly a learning experience. Many new techniques for me. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
I'd like to give those judges a piece of my mind..not found enough!!! PLEASE! Nothing in nature is perfect!!! Your quilt is just BEAUTIFUL!! Thank you for sharing your FFO'S...again LOVE THEM!! I have a feeling we are going to have a hard winter this year, but we shall see!!! HAPPY STITCHING TODAY AND EVERYDAY IN 2022!!
Karen, Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your supportive comment. Apparently, we both like the same style of projects. So sorry that you are stuck in winter weather. I am happy to be where it is warm. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
By the time you got to the quilt and showed it in detail I forgot all about the stitching you showed but I know I enjoyed it. Wow!! That quilt and all the various types of work you did to make it blows my mind. You are so very talented!!
Oh thank you! I am so happy that you liked what you saw. Audubon Christmas is the most intense quilt project I have ever done. See you next time. Best, K
Love the fabric on your little RBG bags! Feast of Friendship and Might Oak! Wow! Those are both on my 2023 "to stitch" list. Your Audubon Quilt is such a work of art! I can't imagine how much time, but also how much fun you had making that, like hunting for the perfect fabric! What an accomplishment.
Karen, Thank you so much for your supportive comment on my projects. I am happy to know that you enjoyed seeing them. Yes, the fabric hunt was pure joy. Stop by again. Best, K
Karen, I enjoyed spending time with you again today. That quilt is absolutely gorgeous.
Thank you so much for your comment. I am so happy that you are a faithful viewer. Good to have you back. Stay well. Best, K
Thank you for sharing your quilts... they are all beautiful works of art!! So glad you decided to do flosstubes and share your talents with us !! Love the stitching and finishing too!!😻
Ona, Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I really appreciate it. Stay well. Best, K
So glad your mobile home is still in tact. The winds off those storms is just awful I imagine. I couldn’t wait to watch your video. Already a favorite FlossTuber. Was great to see all your lovely previous finishes. I still say I’ve always admired those quilts that were not just the patches of fabric but the quilts that you do. Now I still love the patched quilts. But the ones you’ve done and gone over with us…those blow me away! They’re phenomenal. Thx so much for educating us. (Had to look up “fussy cut” - LOL.). At any rate, I can’t wait to see your next video. I mean…the berries weren’t perfectly round??? COME ON!!! They look perfectly round to me. And the painting and embroidery and the feathers! Wow! Just gorgeous!
Jannie, Thanks so much for stopping by again. I appreciate your kind and supportive comments. There really are two kinds of quilts; those that will be used, loved, and washed many times and those that are made to be saved, savored, and enjoyed with eyes only. I make both kinds but have really moved to making show quilts. The family seems to have their fill of the first kind. I think you should be a quilt judge. See you next time. Best, K
I'm so amazed at the details of your beautiful quilt! It must have been fun picking out all the fabric! I'm not a quilter, but I wanted to be at one point in my life, and going into fabric stores just made me smile! Your stitching is beautiful, and I love your finishing touches! Thanks for sharing. I am so glad you shared about variegated floss. It made me realize that I don't need to spend so much just because that's what the chart calls for, especially for small areas of stitching. Thanks for sharing!
Barbara, Thank you so much for your comment on my quilt. I appreciate it. Shopping for fabric is never a chore. We quilters love to pet the fabrics. I am happy to know that my comment about variegated threads struck a chord with you. I am always trying to make my habit less expensive. Thanks for stopping by. Best, K
Your Audubon quilt is a masterpiece! Amazing details and exceptional stitching! Thank you so much for sharing it via the close up video. What a wonderful treat for your viewers!
Janet, Thank you for letting me know that you enjoyed seeing the details in my quilt. I always wonder if I am boring people. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
@@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947 Karen, I’ll definitely be back to watch more of your Flosstubes. You have such a pleasant manner of presentation. Your videos are interesting and well done. Thank you!
That quilt is absolutely stunning!! Thank you for taking the time to share all the details! GORGEOUS!!!
Teresa, Thanks for the comment on my quilt. I am glad to know that you enjoyed seeing the details. I always hope I am not boring people. Stay well. Best, K
Great FTube today. The comment consensus seems to be about the amazing stunning quilt. Cannot imagine the time and work in it, just fabulous. Oh, and we loved the Crostitch also, the Acorn one is so lovely.
Julia, You are right. The comments are overwhelmingly about the quilt. I love it too. Hope all is well in KY. Keep me informed about how the group meet ups are working out. Best, K
Your quilt is beautiful! I’ve ever seen a perfectly round berry in real life. All that gorgeous work and that’s what the judge picked to comment on? Wow, but for what it’s worth, I think it’s a winner!
Thank you so much for your kind words about my quilt. I guess at the end of the day the judges have to find some reason to say that one quilt is better than another. See you next time. Best, K
That quilt left me speechless. Glad to hear you are safe in Florida. Take care.
Sarah, Thank you for your sweet comment on my quilt. I learned a lot in the process of making it. Stay well. Best, K
Thanks for showing the beautiful details on the Audubon Christmas Quilt. What a lot of work you invested into it, and what a quilt to be proud of.
Helen, Thank you for letting me know that you enjoyed seeing the details in the Audubon quilt. I always wonder if I am boring people. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
Thanks for your lovely posting Karen…loved your previous finishes…your beautiful Audubon Christmas quilt is awesome…thanks for showing how each segment was shaped by your hands…I am surprised you completed the quilt as quickly as you did if each fabric was hand selected…please take care and happy stitching ❤❤
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I am so happy that you enjoyed it. That makes it worth it to me. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K

Debra, Thank you so much for your comment on my quilt. I am always happy to know that another stitcher appreciates the work. Stay well. Best, K
Your quilt is amazing. I love all the details. I can see some of the sheen, that has to look incredible in person.
Hi Chris, Thank you for your sweet comment on my quilt. I love it too. Thanks for stopping by again. Stay well. Best, K
Oh Karen! The eye candy, the quilt is amazing, all that you are showing! The cinnamon stars is framed great, gave me some ideas. And the stuffed pumpkins too cute! Omg the detail in the quilt! And the work and choice of fabrics is amazing! Bluejays were my mum’s favourite bird, I am doing the bluejay x stitch that Amy loves toads. is doing. And the cardinals as well!wow. Have a great time in the warmer weather!
Cindy, Thank you so much for your sweet comment on the video. I appreciate knowing that you liked something about the way I framed Cinnamon Stars. I thought I had done a rather lazy finish on it in order to save some money. Thank you for your comments on the quilt. Birds are a great subject whether in cross stitch or quilting. Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
Hi Karen ,your stitching pieces are amazing ,but your quilt is just sooooo ,beautiful.l am so glad you found your mojo for stitching again ,l must say l love your sewing machine crossstitch.💕🥰
Beverley, Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my projects. I am happy that you enjoyed seeing them. The pattern for that sewing machine cross stitch is from Lori Holt and is available at Fat Quarter Shop and most LNS. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
Such a beautiful quilt! Loved your year of months too! Glad you are settled and ready to get back in the flow of things! ❤
Darlene, Thank you for your comment on my quilt. I am happy to know that you enjoyed seeing it. Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
Thank you for the close up of Audubon Christmas. It is truly a stunning quilt. I dabble in Applique but do not that the ability to take on such a intricate project. Kudos to you!
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my video. I have to say, the appliquick tools made all the difference in this quilt. I hadn't done much appliqué before I tackled this one. You might think about trying it. Stay well. Best, K
What a stunning quilt. You should be so proud of it.
Thank you so much for your kind comment on my quilt. I am very proud of it. I learned a lot while making it. Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
Your quilt is gorgeous and so much detail on it. Love all your projects.

Thank you so much for taking time to comment on the video. I appreciate your kind words about the quilt. Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
Your quilt is spectacular! So detailed and amazing creativity. Thank you for showing the details.
Susan, Thank you your kind comment on my quilt. So glad that you enjoyed the close ups. It was rather awkward to film. Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
Thanks for explaining your projects, it is great to see FLOSSTUBERS like you who share details of your projects with us. It is a good thing to learn as we watch. Great job Karen (hopefully I am spelling your name correctly).
Mary Sue, Thank you so much for your supportive comment about my videos. It is good to know that I am meeting a need. I also love to learn from other floss tubers, so that is what I try to share. Stay well. Best, K
I loved seeing your 1st Florida video. Your previous finishes were impressive and I know we have more to see these next few months! Your Audubon Christmas Quilt is AMAZING!! I cannot imagine the time & work that went into that beautiful piece of art; you are so gifted in the creative needle arts! Have a wonderful time reconnecting with your Winter friends...we are expecting our first snowfall tonight in Northeast TN, after 70 degree temperatures earlier in the week...brrrrr. See you in two weeks!
Barbara, Welcome back to my channel. So nice to know that you enjoyed seeing the quilt. It is great to see our Canadian friends returning to the park. Stay warm in your snowy weather. Best, K
Glad you arrived safely and are settled in for winter. Audubon Christmas is lovely! Enjoy finishing up Mighty Acorn. I really enjoy seeing your work.
Deb, Thank you so much for stopping by again. Happy that you enjoyed seeing Audubon Christmas. See you next time. Best, K
Glad to hear Audobon Christmas won a ribbon. The whole time you were describing it, I was thinking it should be award-winning. What an amazing quilt!
Thank you so much for you sweet comment on my quilt. You should be a quilt judge. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
That quilt is blowing my mind. Seriously. You need to insure it. ❤
I have never thought of insuring my quilts. That is a wonderful idea. I would be devastated if anything happened to any of them. Thanks so much. Best, K
So nice to see all the details of your quilt, I am not a quilter but appreciate all the work you put in it! BTW never seen perfect round berries in nature either!
Thank you so much for your wonderful comments on my video. I'm happy to know that you appreciate the work that goes into it. That judge's comment is really getting raked over the coals! Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
That quilt! Oh my! Absolutely gorgeous! So glad you are safe. Florida sure has suffered this year. Hope you have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
Belinda, Thank you for your comment on my quilt. Yes, FL has really been hit this year. My community fared pretty well. Stay well. Best, K
Beautiful quilt! Those birds are so realistic. Your fabric choices and details for them surpass anything I have seen! You must have collected the fabric for months, Just love it!
Welcome to Florida, I live in Sarasota county.
Thank you so much for your comment on my quilt. It is not hard duty for a quilter to go fabric shopping. I pet a lot of fabric getting ready to make this one. LOL. I am in Polk County. Hope you got through the storms OK. Stay well. Best, K
Wow! What an amazing quilt! I always enjoy your cross stitch projects and your beautiful quilts…I quilt a little bit but nothing like that….we, too, spend our summers in Illinois and our winters in Florida.
Marlene, Thank you so much for your comment. I have moved away from the 'much-used, much-loved, much-washed' quilts to 'saved, savored, and enjoyed by eyes only' quilts. My family seems to have enough every day quilts for now. There is a place for both kinds of quilts in this world. I am sure yours are appreciated too. Stay well. Best, K
Thank you for the update, I love the quilt it is beautiful but a mountain of work thank for sharing the detail of making it.
Thank you so much for your kind comment about my quilt. I love it too. I think your username is terrific. Stay well. Best, K
Stunning quilt Karen and your bags look amazing. RBG!!!
Amie, Thanks for your kind comment on my video. Happy to know that you are an RBG fan too. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
Beautifully detailed quilt! Your bird feeder glossy insert may be organza fabric as that is quite often quite shiny. Fantastic job on quilting this multifaceted quilt!
Angela, Thank you for your sweet comment on my quilt. You could be right about the glossy fabric. I am happy that you enjoyed seeing it. Stay well. Best, K
Oh my goodness, the Christmas Audubon Quilt is beyond words. What a work of beauty and talent. Love your idea to finish the Coming to America small with the newsprint that came in the box, I will take your idea and use it on mine when I finish it. Thank you for the great idea. Enjoy our winter in Florida, we have about 2 inches of snow this morning in Southwest Wisconsin and 34 degrees.
Bonita, Thank you so much for your kind comment on my Audubon Christmas quilt. It was really a learning event for me. So happy that you are encouraged to use the printed fabric that came with Coming to America. I am so happy that I am not in Southwest WI right now. Take care. Best, K
Wow! Your Audubon Christmas quilt is spectacular! So much thought and detail went into that piece. Thank you for sharing your talent with us. I hope y’all have a Happy Thanksgiving.🦃🍁
Diane, Thank you so much for your comment on my quilt. So happy that you enjoyed seeing it. Stay well. Best, K
OMG, your quilt is absolutely gorgeous!! I am also a quilter but I must say I’ve never made one as intricate and labor intensive as yours. You must surely be an artist? Such a treat, and thank you for such a good look see. Love your videos!
Suzanne, Thank you so much for your kind words about my quilt. I don't consider myself to be an artist because I do not make original designs. Rather, I see a pattern designed by someone else and recreate it. See you next time. Best, K
@@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947 Did this pattern designed by another include fabric painting as well? If not, you’re an artiste in my book! I surely am NOT :)
Holy smokes - that quilt is absolutely breathtaking! I think it's the most beautiful quilt I've ever seen! Thanks for sharing!
Rhonda, Thank you so much for your wonderful comment on my quilt. I really appreciate it. Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
I love how you framed/finished Cinnamon Stars!
Annette, Thank you for that sweet comment on my framing of Cinnamon Stars. I thought I was being lazy and that the piece deserves a better framing job. Glad to know that you don't think it looks that bad. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
Wow wow wow. You don’t cease to amaze with the beauty of your workmanship and beauty of your quilts. I am a dedicated quilter and cross stitcher. Wish you did videos on the more detailed work on your quilts. Not necesarily the piecing
Rosa, Thank you so much for your comment. I am always happy to know that another quilter appreciates my work. I will continue to try to show details of my quilts, but I am not a very good videographer. It comes off as very amateurish. Thank you for letting me know that you enjoy seeing the details. Best, K
The quilt is fabulous with all your amazing work. The "not perfectly round berries" is a bit picayune, in my opinion. They are perfect to my eye. At least the quilt placed. Much deserved
Thank you so much for your kind comment about my quilt. It will always be my favorite. See you next time. Best, K
Oh my gosh. Your quilt is a masterpiece. The detail and time it took is amazing!!
Susan, Thank you so much for your kind comment on my quilt. I am so happy to know that you enjoyed seeing it. Best, K
Karen your quilt is absolutely gorgeous!!! ! You are a very talented lady doing all that
beautiful fabric painting, embroidery, hand appliqué. Have a Happy Thanksgiving. Hugs, Lynn
Thank you so much for your supportive comment. That quilt was definitely a learning process. Stay well. Best, K
Awesome quilt. Thanks for sharing.
So happy that you enjoyed it. See you next time. Best, K
That quilt is absolutely amazing!!!!

@@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947 all of your quilts that you have shown are just gorgeous! your attention to detail is incredible!
So many beautiful pieces…I remember seeing that quilt in one of my quilting magazines and thinking how amazing it was…Yours is truly magnificent! Such an incredible job! I’m going to check out those classes I’m familiar with Craftsy but will checkout this other forum on line…Thank you for the up close view of your quilt, you did a great job filming(that’s hard!) And your work is exquisite!☺️
Annalee, Thank you so much for your sweet comment. I am so happy to know that you enjoyed seeing the Audubon Christmas quilt. The original was quite famous as it had won Viewer's Choice at an AQS Paducah show. Stay well. Best, K
I say the same thing every time. But it's so true. Just beautiful!
I never get tired of hearing it. Thanks so much. Stay well. Best, K
So so beautiful Karen! You are a beautiful artist and your perfection is spot on! The Christmas quilt is truly award winning so I’m glad to hear you placed with it.
Love your stitching, so fun to see your past projects as well.
Do you winter in Florida? Is Kentucky a cold place in the winter? Hope you and hubby have a great time! See you next time!
Blessings!
Karen, Thank you so much for your kind comment on the quilt. Yes, we winter in FL. KY gets quite cold. They don't necessarily have a lot of snow, but removal is difficult on narrow, windy roads. Schools get closed a lot. Ice is even more likely than snow and, to my mind, that is worse than snow. See you next time. Best, K
I just got Cinnamon Stars kitted up, it was lovely to see yours finished! And that quilt is *amazing*! Thanks so much for explaining all the techniques you used.
CJ, So happy to know that we select the same projects. We have similar taste. Thank you for your sweet comment on the quilt. Stay well. Best, K
Oh my Lord, what an awesome quilt, you are truly talented and gifted!! Thank you for sharing all your amazing pieces. (Are ALL holly berries EXACTLY round???? Geez!!) Stitch on & blessings to you
Thank you so much for your wonderful comment on my video. That judge's comment is really getting raked over the coals. So funny. I appreciate your support. Stay well. Best, K
I love applique! It's an exquisite quilt. It seems we're loosing the hand applique and most everyone wants those cheater cloths. I don't like those at all. Too many just want to hurry and get it done. Their missing out on the enjoyment of the process. Congrats on a beautiful quilt.🌹💗☕
Linda, Thank you so much for your comment on my quilt. I am always happy to know that another sewer appreciates the work when they see it. Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
Nice finishes. I have Cinnamon Stars, but have not chosen my fabric yet and still deciding which fancy floss ones to use and which DMC. Pretty project bags. I used the wrong shade of floss, and OMG I had to rip out 444 X's last week, my biggest frogging ever! As I stitched it I kept thinking is this right. I've learned now to Stop, and doublecheck. I restitched with correct color, so worth it, and so glad I didn't cut into my fabric!!! Awesome quilt, all the birds, love the Partridge couple & babies.
Dee, Thanks for stopping by again. You will love Cinnamon Stars. I am so sorry to hear about your frogging nightmare. Mine was pretty small, and I am glad that I redid it. Thank you for the comment on my quilt. I think the Partridge block is my favorite. Stay well. Best, K
The quilt is simply amazing! My jaw dropped with all of the details you added. What a fantastic work of art. I’ll bet that judge struggled to find something critical to say about the quilt! Love all of your stitching projects as well.
Barbara, Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my quilt. Quilt judges do have to find details that set quilts apart, so they may seem nit-picky, but it is necessary. It still got a blue ribbon, so I certainly can't complain. Especially since my other quilt got Best of Show. So happy to know that my work is appreciated. Thanks for stopping by. Best, K
Your cross stitch is lovely, but your quilting is beyond amazing. So much detail and creativity. Does the cross stitch give you a break or a rest from the creativity and challenges of your quilting?
Betty, Thank you for stopping by again and leaving such a sweet comment. Yes, cross stitch does give me a break, especially since I am away from my long arm for 6 months at a time. I really need to have small projects to work on. Stay well. Best, K
Thank you for sharing and inspiring❤
Geri, Thank you for stopping by. I am happy to know that you enjoyed the video. Stay well. Best, K
Hello Karen, I am so thankful to learn that you and your Mr. Enabler are safe after Nicole ran through Florida. Your work is astounding to me. How old were you when you first picked up a needle? The stitching is beautiful. Your Audubon quilt is perfection! I can’t thank you enough for showing such treasures.
JoAnn, Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my video. I am really appreciate your flattering words about my work. I have been sewing by hand and machine since I was quite young. I remember sitting next to my grandmother as she sewed on her machine, while she had me hand stitching four patches. I was young and they were terrible, of course, but she was keeping me busy so she could continue to sew. My mother taught me how to sew on her Singer sewing machine and to use patterns to sew clothing for my dolls and myself. I know that by the time I got to Home Ec in Jr. High, I was sewing my own clothes. I am pretty old and that was in the Stone Age, so I have been sewing a long time. Stay well. Best, K
I am so glad you took the time to show your quilt up close. The amount of time and skill you used are amazing. It is truly unbelievable. You should be very proud.
Joan, Thank you for taking time to comment on my video. I am happy to know that you enjoyed seeing the quilt up close. I always hope I am not boring people. I am proud of that quilt. I will probably never be able to top it. Hope you will stop by again. Best, K
Your quilt is magnificent!

Beautiful work, as always!
Barb, Thank you so much for your sweet comment on my video. I am happy to know that you enjoyed it. Stay well. Best, K
Your quilt is a work of art. Your quilting is beautiful and adds so much texture to the exquisite appliqué and painting. Your color and fabric choices…wow. Enjoy your time in Florida, glad the storm wasn’t too bad for you.
Luella, Thank you so much for your kind words about the quilt. See you next time. Best, K
Karen - I know this video is about cross stitch, but, my gosh, that quilt is amazing! I just looked at the pattern online and I think yours is more beautiful and I like the solid border instead of the sawtooth. What year did you finish this? And now you’ve taken that talent and attention to detail to your cross stitch. I must say you are inspiring me!
Barb, Most of the comments on this video are about the quilt. I am glad to hear your opinion about the border. I have never liked Prairie Points, so I left them out. I wanted what I consider to be a fancier finish on the border and sashes, so I opted for sparkly fabric. I finished this in 2019 and it went to the state fair in 2019 also. I'm always happy to be an enabler. What are you stitching? Best, K
@@recoveringmonogamousstitch1947 right now I’m stitching the “You are the boss of your own quilt” - very appropriate hanging for my sewing room and very fun to do. It’s a break from finishing the Laurel Burch cats on black, although I’d like to have that done by year-end. It could happen…🙄
I am speechless!!!
Thank you so much for your kind comment. Stay well. Best, K
Your quilt detail is amazing. I'm an appliquer so I know how much work went into your Masterpiece. Amazing work! Bravo!
Susan, Thank you so much for your comment on my quilt. I am so happy to know that you really appreciate what it takes to get a piece like this done. Stay well. Best, K
Your Audubon Quilt is phenomenal! The shading and the attention to detail just blows me away!! Absolutely stunning!!

We winter in Lake Wales, Florida.
We are in the same county! I am in Lakeland. Thanks for letting me know. Best, K
Your quilt is so beautiful, the details, omg the details and skill involved, you are an artist!! Thanks for showing, it was a treat for me. On your little acorn stitch piece, did you use the called for colors? The colors really popped and were so rich, I have mine kitted up but haven't started. Sometimes the BB colors are a bit too muted for me so I wanted to make sure, especially on your tree trunks and limbs.
Rhonda, I hope this response is in time for you to start Mighty Acorn. I used the following WDW flosses: Dirt Road, Sage, Schneckley, and Oilcloth. All the rest were the DMC alternates suggested in the pattern. Sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. Stay well. Best, K
Perfectly rounded berries?? Give me a break. Your quilt is a beautiful work of art. I'm glad Nicole didn't do any damage to ur winter home. It must be a huge amount of work to pack for that many months. I don't think I could handle that. Do you bring a trailer of RV down?
Sandra, Thank you so much for your comment on my quilt. Yes, we are very fortunate that our area was spared the most damaging winds from both Ian and Nicole. We have a mini-van. We leave many things in the FL home so we don't have to take a lot back and forth. Frankly, most of what is packed in the van is my sewing projects, etc. Mr. Enabler is very patient with me. Every time I say we are not taking as much as we did the last time, but it always looks full. Thanks for stopping by. Stay well. Best, K
Just beautiful stitching and gorgeous quilt. Wow! How do you manage your time between cross stitch and quilting? I find I tend to abandon one for the other but would like to be able to continue to do both.
Hi Linda, Thank you for your kind comment on my quilt. I really do swing between the two. I am away from my long arm for 6 months of the year, so cross stitch really takes over then. Hope you will stop by again. Stay well. Best, K
