These are the types of videos I’m looking for in regards to the Deck. Most videos simply review or show a handful of accessories. I want to see where users have accessories that expand the deck into laptop-like usage scenarios. Foldout keyboards, docks and portable monitors, cyber deck setups with steam deck docks in pelican setups, augmented reality glasses… etc…
I have a steamdeck I use when I'm not at home on the desktop or the xbox. I've got windows 11 installed on it. I'm able to use this tiny little bluetooth mouse and keyboard that doesn't need a usb dongle or anything cause it was made for android phones and tablets. TBH. Steamdeck is just a tiny laptop compareable to one of those GTX1060 laptops.
Actually, I never really thought about connecting a hub or adapter to the Steam Deck either. I bet using a docking station would work like a charm and be super handy too!
I loved the minivan-truck analogy. I have a gaming laptop, but it's impractical to game on my couch or bed with it. I am leaning towards purchasing a steam deck.
I have both gaming laptop (Legion 5i) and Steam Deck (which I have for 2 months now), and honestly I play games in my laptop 99.5% of the time. I have wireless controller which means I can play even when I'm lying down on my bed or the couch. I tried playing stream deck on my bed but it is really uncomfortable because of its size and weight, hence I'm planning to buy a Switch Lite.
Thanks for all the in-depth reviews and suggestions, really appreciate the quality of your channel and it seems like a great way to use a Steam Deck as a laptop occasionally and the bag to carry it all in looks great!
I have a gaming laptop that I got after the Deck and I use the laptop more. It's easy to game on when laying down with the laptop on a cooling pad next to me. I take the deck with me if I go outside the house. It's a great device. I also use it on the can. However, the laptop is so much better playing games at 120hz. The deck has way better battery life though.
Yeah I have a gaming laptop too, but that was before these advancements on handhelds. I never game laying down so lol I really like the deck's portability. or the win gx2 mini. Which is essentially a mini gaming laptop. If they can do all I want for work... I'm down once my laptop dies.buf I'm not FOMO just excited how the future will be :)
But for real, steam deck is not ready to replace a gaming laptop depending what kinda person you are. Although it's for gaming, i would like to use for everything. And... I need windows 😅 maybe one day deck will be a valuable option to switch.
I've had a Steam Deck for about a week. Easily the best gaming device I've bought in 20 years. Will probably end up building a good gaming PC when I can afford it.
Are gaming laptops dead? Only if you dont want to play AAA games above 40 fps and above 800p. In a form factor of the steam deck that is bulkier to carry then a 14" gaming laptop from asus or razer. If you are going to talk about an actual laptop replacement it would have to be one of the more powerful windows handhelds with egpu support like the ayaneo2 or the gpd win4. And even then still not a replacement for a laptop, but the win4 comes the closet.
I apologize for the clipped audio. I fixed what I could, but I will make sure this is fixed for next time. Thanks!

So, the answer is NO. There are alts to a gaming laptop, but its expensive, finicky, and a ballache.
Damn, bro, it's almost like that's exactly what he said at the end of the video, lol.
Lol did you even try one . I haven't opened my razer blade 15 since last 5 months for gaming . Steam deck does it all

5:26 shouldn't you remove the sticker before putting on a thermal paste?

I have one of the newer Killswitch cases on preorder. Don't know if I'll use it since I can't use it with the dock.
i think gaming laptops are more relevant that ever in some cases removing the need for a full desktop rig

A steam deck is not bigger than a laptop. Stop lying. 🤣
@@MobileDecay it is at least against one's with 13 inch screen.
@@oo--7714 No.
Oh my god! Lol I need that keyboard for the steam deck one day or my phone. 😊
