    In this video we are going to redo the conversion on our bicyle using a powerful brushless motor while replacing the old geared DC motor.
    Earlier we have converted our bicycle using a geared DC motor, though the conversion was sucessful and we were able to get thing rolling but still the top speed and the torque provided by the DC geared motor was miserable.
    So we decided to step up the game and eventually we come up with the idea of using a brushless motor from an old hoverboard and some high discharge lithium pollymer batteries to give this bike a puch of power.
    The conversion was stright forward as we tried to eleminate as many unwanted parts as possible during the process and thus we were able to achieve a top end speed of nearly 40 km/hr (The bike is surely able to get double that but the speed controller we had was able to handle only six cell lipo pack) and the torque was phenominal, seriously wheelies on the go.
    Gerber file and schematic for the PCB:drive.google.com/drive/folder...

    i had made something close to this but didnt re wire the motor, used a cheap sensored controller, and had way too low of a gearing... i had 3d printed a tpu adapter for the bottom bracket of a bmx bike to fit the shaft of the hub motor. I like your solution... the torque you have got out of that motor and gearing combination is wild! Props!!! thanks for sharing!

    Climp any hill with a small boat starter motor. If you were 90 degrees with front install, it would flip the rear up so you could face plant the wall/mountain/rock. If it were rear, you would be flying up the stairs in a wheelie. Make sure to feather the brake. Take one of them diesel lithium battery starters rated at 110v 100amps with a pwm(pwm brush only much stronger than brushless..brushless made for long distant constant...not best for torq). So yeah, Stunt guy like you, use a small starter motar which could pull a car at 2,000 lbs. Infact for the ultimate short burst that will climb anything use a 300 amp pwm(max hard to find- can get 150amp pwm) and you could flip get air on those stairs and flip with perfect landing. Another thing you can do is upgrade you control box to 5,000 watt 96v and overload brushless(500 watt brushless handle it for short bursts 5-8sec under heavy incline . 750watt 8-14. 1000 watt for 19-25 1500/1800 26-36 2000 47-60 and a bit over. 3000 1-2 mins.

      No rewinding, simply from Star to Delta, gives √3-fold more speed, but equaly less torque. Would be cool, if he could switch back and forth between the 2 configs, so 2-gear e-motor...

    • @IUbU

      @@klausbrinck2137 All right, so is there any point, to refurbish the moto inside, instead of setting up a simple mechanic bike gear to change between more speedy or torquey outcome?

    • @klausbrinck2137
      @klausbrinck2137 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@IUbU 1st: You save electricity and so get higher range. 2nd: You don´t have to use yout legs, you use the motor after all... So, there is 2 points there already. And he doesn´t have 2 electric gears anyway, he just chose to switch to the 2nd gear permanently.

    Some excellent work here but some of the decisions are a bit weird. Perhaps it makes sense if this bike project was intended more to be a video, and less about actually using it. The things I would have done differently were:
    Found a way to keep the pedals so that you can still pedal if you run out of battery.
    Used a thumb throttle instead of a servo tester.
    Used a VESC ESC because its current control method is so much more suitable to ebikes than the typical duty cycle control (it's a nightmare starting to turn on the electrical power if you are already moving with a duty cycle based ESC, it causes it to brake rather than accelerate).
    Add more heatsinking to the motor, it'll get quite hot trying to use it like a moped.
