This seems to be a buy-it-for-life product, which is great. Enough cycles to last for years and years, and then it's fully serviceable and not a bunch of waste. Seems like a fantastic concept. I wish the company success, I like their build philosophy.

While the battery capacity is higher than the newer Ecoflow and Bluetti units, it is far bulkier, since you need a separate inverter, separate MPPT, separate DC-DC Charger, and separate AC Charger. The Ecoflow and Bluetti have that all built in, at the cost of some battery capacity. The name brands are far more mobile since they're all-in-one. This battery box will however work nicely in a more permanent install, for example in a canopy setup.

Hey mate, thanks for you comment and watching. Agree the All in ones are very compact and I think this is where 12v is going, I just don't think anyone has nailed it yet. You have to trade something off to get the compact unit. And for some reason the all in ones have shocking cycle life's. I found an interesting unit in WA but can't get my hands on one, Vhedia make it.

They don’t really have a dc dc charger, the dc charge is by cig socket and only charges at low amps, would take over 20 hours of driving to recharge. The inverters are very small capacity too. What I like about this is I wouldn’t need an inverter solar, so I can pick and choose what I want to charge it with

Have you visited their assembly area just at the back of their store? It’s worth to visit. By the way, I know they use Ganfeng lithium Grade A cells. Ganfeng has contracts with VW, BMW, LG chemicals and TESLA. Just amongst all other big companies that use lithium batteries of all types. I have used the same 12V 200AH BWB LiFePO4 battery and cooked rice about 4 times during our camping and didn’t run out of power. They do offer lifetime service even if it has expired the 5 years warranty. I have done my due diligence researching for other brands in the market and this is by far the most affordable, not overpriced or course, and very powerful and reliable! A must try product, I must say. ❤

I agree that these types of 12v set ups will be great for those that go away for the long weekend, wanting something to power their 60L fridge, and charge their phones. The other brand that I have been keeping an eye on for when my current 12V system needs replacing is Muller Energy. Very similar, just that they have a 175a Anderson Plug, a touch screen and some bits to bolt the box down. This comes at an extra cost of about $250 when comparing 200ah.
For a little fella, you didnt seem to have any trouble lifting and shifting that 36kg of batteries around :)

Just checked them out, they are also very nice!! I definitely think any manufacturers that aren't going down this path have rocks in their heads. Only downside I could kind find to the Muller Energy battery was it only has 3800 cycles at 80% that is very very low, I don't get out of bed for anything less then 6000 😂🤣😂

@@Off.Track4x4 I personally wouldn’t discount any LFP with a cycle count of 4K or more. From my limited knowledge, lithium batteries also have a calendar life of around 10 years. Therefore if you are a heavy user of your lithium battery, cycle it once a day for 10 years, the calendar life of the lithium battery is likely to be the cause for the battery losing some of its capacity, not the cycle count.

    • @Off.Track4x4
      @Off.Track4x4  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

You are correct lithium batteries will start to die out after 5 years. The storage capacity starts dropping very slowly that's why you find 5 years is the maximum warranty you will find on most batteries. If you do the maths your correct reaching 8000 cycles would be a massive effort to reach. Me personally I feel the numbers are pulled out of the air, but it's more so a conference factor from the manufacturer. Kings has one of the lowest cycle life's, I believe that's so that the battery runs out of cycles before the warranty period and they can blame any issues on that. Just my thoughts though I have no evidence to back this up.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say you aren't in Australia if your camping in a Tesla and you have the ability to charge 12v off your Electric vehicle?
kWh is what 240v power is read in, 12v is all measured in Ah. Bluetti use kWh as they are mainly a 240v unit buy also they don't want people to know easily how low the storage capacity is at a 12v level. Again if your not in Australia it may be different in your country but that's how it Is over here 😊

Yeah I live on the Central Coast of NSW.
Our car has a humungous battery at 58 kWh capacity & it's a curious myth (total nonsense) that EVs are no good in the bush.
We often go camping with this format. We can even charge it from solar panes via the Bluetti.
I also work in the renewable energy space & well understand energy & battery language.
Even AA & AAA batteries show energy energy storage capacity in Wh & kWh. Metric language is intuitive, as all appliances show power on the nameplate as Watts.
Btw, my wife loves to take a fridge camping too, which runs either from the car, or the Bluetti.

The stainless box is great looking! Believe it or not, the charge / discharge duty cycle can have a dramatic affect, just as with lead acid batteries. Charging only to 80% and discharging to 50% will probably give close to 15000 cycles on most A grade LiFePO4 cells. Eco Flow and Bluetti rate theirs to 20% DOD for the 4000 cycles. BTW, that was a really nice vehicle charge setup with the 3 Anderson connectors!

I've own both a 100ah and a 200ah battery they are great batteries!. But thats the thing they are batteries not power stations like blueitti etc. I run mine with a renogy dc- dc charger and a kickass mppt charger controller. The only fault i can find with these batteries after 2 years of usage, is the on/ off switch on the front get bumped and turns on the usb ports and drained the battery. Customer service at big wei batteries was fantastic and showed me how to reset bms to recharge. They might not have an ip rating but have had mine in a zodiac whilst i was careful not to get it wet, had no problem with water ingress. ( wouldn't recommend it though). Unlike cheaper lipo4 batteries they run the prismatic cells which long term make it a much cheaper option, in my opinion.

8000 cycles is a sales gimmick, it might be capable of achieving this at 20% dod, there is no data on their website related to life expectancy versus depth of discharge or how they calculated this figure.

Hey mate, I agree with you I think cycle life's is a sales spec as I don't reckon anyone would reach 8000 cycles. I do how every think it shows how confident companies are with their products, once the cycle life is depleted the warranty is void. If you think your product is shit put on a 10 year warranty with 2000 cycles people will trust it because of the warranty. To put 8000 cycles and 5 year warranty shows they back their product.

They look quite robust and well made. However, they are not replacements for the bluetti, ecoflow etc. - they don't have mppt charging, 240V charging, 12V charging, they don't provide 240V outputs.
I agree this modular approach means you aren't tossing out the whole thing, but its a long stretch to compare them to the portable power banks by bluetti etc.
Its also incorrect to claim that you give up IP rating for serviceability - that is just not true.
These packs serve a purpose, but not as you present them and you do them a disservice not presenting them for what they are.

The newer versions last for thousands of hours before losing the top 20% of capacity and they don’t completely fail at that point as you are suggesting. I don’t know if you are misleading on purpose or because you are unfamiliar with the newer products.

Looks decent, but the most critical component is the BMS, we need to know the quality / brand!
The case is cool, i think a lot more SS builds will enter the market soon, though not super necessary when compared to plastic - cheaper and also doesnt rust.
The other feature is the price, at $1500 for a 200aH battery. But honestly, this should be the standard.. what we've seen in this market is some of the worst price gouging in Australian history!
If you could identify and cost each component, and estimate build time i recken they would still have a very healthy markup on these.
The lifetime warranty and servicing is impressive though, and should attract a lot of buyers!
At the end of the day, if the average consumer actually knew how easy it is to build something like this from chinese parts, we would all have a very different perspective on this entire market.

Their standard warranty is only for 24months no where near 10 years.

There is no built-in inverter. It is just a simple Chinese lithium cell battery with Chinese parts and outlets. Only really the assembly is done in Australia, even though the publisher, in this case, is claiming it is Australian made. It's assembled from Chinese parts, as with most things these days. It is not the future but actually a blast from the past. People have been making exactly the same as DIY for probably 10 years and Big Wei do it as a business. I must say I've not heard a bad word about the company assembling and selling them though, but the publisher of this video is completely out of his depth going by his knowledge and his statements.
