This is such a beautiful original song from Tim. He is a wonderful songwriter. This song was originally on Tim's solo album before joining Home Free called "The Best That I Could Do". Nice to see it redone with Home Free. Love Adam's percussion!

He wrote this with another guy 15 years ago. This may be one of the very last videos we get to see Austin, as the new guy, Adam Bastien-Bell was introduced last week in one of their newsletters for us Patreon members. He is starting to tour with them in July. Such a very very pretty song !!!

Love this song by Tim. Chance (knit hat) does bass when Tim takes lead. Austin was doing the higher do, do, do’s. Adam does sing on occasion but mostly beatboxes. He was great here. Austin will be with the group til the fall. Good one EO!!!😄

That low bass "percussion" you heard was actually Chance basically taking the part of a bass guitar, which in traditional bands is often used as a rhythm instrument along with the drums.
Adam does sing in some songs, but he's usually doing a high tenor harmony. According to him, his upper range is lower than Austin's but higher than Rob's, so that's usually where you'll find him singing.
I asked at a Livestream q&a how the beatboxing got arranged, and they said Adam does 99+% of the arrangement for the percussion. They do the vocals, send them off to their producer Darren Rust, who combines them and sends them off to Adam, who arranges, records, and processes the percussion and sends it to Darren. Someone may suggest something or ask for a little flourish here and there, but for the most part all the percussion arranging falls to Adam. If Adam layers sounds -- like drums and harmonica -- then he has to layer them live and on the fly using a looper at every performance of the song in concert, which he does seamlessly. The man is a wizard.

They just announced Austin will be leaving after June 21 and Adam Bastien will be taking his place.Adam B is a former member of Home Free back when the group was first formed.There are now going to be 3 Adam’s in the group

I love this song. In general I really enjoy their originals, and they have quite a lot accumulated over the years.
Austin has only announced that he's going to leave but hasn't left yet. Probably in the fall after they finish touring.
As for Adam doing something else than beatboxing: there are a few where there isn't any kind of vocal percussion or other soundeffects but pure, 5-part harmonies. Brothers in Arms, Helplessly Hoping and Quarantine for example. And, as far as I know, Adam adds his beatboxing after all the other parts are done.

Usually these videos are filmed a few months prior to their release. Home Free has such a busy schedule they have to plan way ahead.
As for the beatboxing, I’m not sure, but I think usually the guys will record their parts, and then send that product to Adam for him to add in the beats and sounds.
