The neglected daughter of the Shah, the life story of Iranian Princess Shahnaz Pahlavi.

  • The late last Shah of Iran, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, had three marriages in his lifetime. Apart from his second queen, Soraya, who did not bear him any children, his first and third wives gave birth to a total of five children. Today, we will talk about the story of the first child of the Shah, Shahnaz Pahlavi.
Shahnaz Pahlavi was born on October 27, 1940, in Tehran, Iran. She was the only child of Mohammad Reza Shah and his first wife, Fawzia, who was an Egyptian princess. Her birth was accompanied by great regret and unease within the Pahlavi family. Years ago, Mohammad Reza Shah's father, Reza Shah, had heard a prophecy that if the first child born to the royal family was a girl, the king would be killed or exiled. (Obviously, this absurd prophecy eventually came true). Furthermore, before Shahnaz's birth, everyone in the court anticipated that Shah's wife would give birth to a male heir, and celebrations had been planned accordingly. However, all the planned festivities were canceled when people learned that the queen had given birth to a baby girl. As a result, one can imagine the magnitude of disappointment within the Pahlavi family regarding Shahnaz's birth. Nonetheless, Shahnaz's father still felt some consolation in the birth of his daughter, as evident from the name he chose for her. "Shahnaz" means "the king's pride."

Same with my mom. She was engaged to my dad when he was in Australia and my mom in Greece. She flew to Australia and they married. Unfortunately their marriage wasn't a happy one cause my dad was very jealous of my mom. Divorce was difficult cause my mom didn't have any support from anyone and plus her family were miles away.

7:04 even when the man is the one who is cheating and breaking the vow of marriage, the divorce is still pinned on the woman for not being able to tolerate the infidelity. What kind of hell is this world for women. It goes to show how far we have come as society, and how far we are still required to go. Equal rights and equal respect should be equal.

when you want to narrate the story, you need to have all the details, the shah refused to divorce the princess, after her brother tried many times to convince him to divorce, the shah still insists on NOT TO DIVORCE, till the shah REZA BAHLAVI, DIED IN GERMANY WHILE HE WAS SEEKING MEDICAL HELP, while the plane was in her way back to iran carrying his coffin, the plane and due to weather condition was been forced to land an emergency landing in Egypt, the Golden opportunity came just at the right time, the Egyptian authority confescated the plane with the Sheh coffin in it and refused to give her the right right authority to fly, it took fats negotiation between Egyptian government and the Sheh's son Mohammad to either divorce the Princess or the His Father's body/ plane will stay in Egypt, at the end he agreed to divorce her with one condition, to get the custody of the little Princess , and thats what happened, unfortunateley the royal iranian bad Omen was always been there, most of them commited sucide in EXILE, as well the royal Egyptian family got the same fate...

This poor child, despite her father’s gold and his discreet bodyguards, was not happy, - which was evident in her character and absence of friends. Selfishness of her dad made his daughter's memories of happiness with mother void during her growing years.
Reminds me of Charles not allowing William and Harry to see their mother Diana either.
