That is all well and good... but what happened to your original post, eh? But, yes, I should have elaborated on my comment as I understand in some rural areas of your country a gun can be essential, and the laws pertaining to gun ownership should relate to the crime committed.
Why would you need a gun in New Zealand? there are literally no dangerous animals and there are so few gun homicides you can count the amount nationwide on 2 hands on a bad year. Fair enough if you, like this video, need one to hunt but the only other reason to have one is because you're a scared little boy.

As a New Zealander, Fiordland is one of the most beautiful parts of the country, but very rugged and the weather can be dangerous. Take a local of you want to track it! Also don’t go if you don’t like rain because it always rains.
Ka mau te wehi! As a kiwi myself, I've seen very little of Fiordland with my own eyes. It's easy to forget just how big a place it is and how truly untamed and wild most of it still is. Truly awesome. 10/10 visit and do a sounds cruise or something at least once in your life!

@@broms316 no it makes sense because a grid is a common term used by city planners because a grid system is the most efficient way to maintain water pressures, sewage flow, roads, etc. Most rural homes in america are almost off grid housing. The electrical grid is the last thing that connects most rural homes. A fully on the grid home really only applies to urban areas. Rural homes generally run septic for waste, wells for water, propane tanks if any gas at all, and are generally built in ways to reduce the need to heat or cool the home with electricity or gas. Which makes them mostly off the grid. Technicality yes anyone in space would be off the grid because they would have to generate power, take care of their waste, etc. The only thing they cannot do is grow food unless they are Matt Damon.
I live in Africa. Trust me, we've been "living off the grid". International media calls it something different though, they say we are in abject poverty. Guess titles depend upon the authors agenda

3:13 The trees are the same as they where 200 years ago ,I think they’ve been like it longer than that !
New Zealand beach Forrest doesn't grow past a certain extent :)
CCart I didn’t say they did ;)
livingwhile meditating you scenes wrong stick to using your brain!
Just added another trip to my bucket list. Thank you.
As a New Zealander, Fiordland is one of the most beautiful parts of the country, but very rugged and the weather can be dangerous. Take a local of you want to track it! Also don’t go if you don’t like rain because it always rains.
If I go to Fiordland in New Zealand il be sure to kidnap a local! Thanks
Damn. I think I just questioned existence.
antonyjh1234 it's true
Sounds expensive, but I'm sure it's totally worth it!
Beautiful Aotearoa, I miss you x
Ka mau te wehi!
As a kiwi myself, I've seen very little of Fiordland with my own eyes. It's easy to forget just how big a place it is and how truly untamed and wild most of it still is. Truly awesome. 10/10 visit and do a sounds cruise or something at least once in your life!
I'm always imagining myself living like that, on the coast of new zealand, far from cities, in peace with nature, sounds soothing,
but after what happened there, i guess it's just a dream
God bless you. May all people experience the overwhelming beauty of nature, revere it, and fully care for it !!!
Off grid .. speed boats... House... Fridge...planes.. More like he's living off in another place.
off grid I think not.
Has to be said again boooo
It means off the power grid dumbass so yes he’s very much off the grid.
😂so he uses items made by on grid companies.. camera plane boats etc etc and then takes them to a remote place and says i live off grid now😂what does he use as fuel!!! Pebbles off the beach . Don't be so stupid 😂
Has to be said again Can we just agree that he’s living alone away from society and providing for himself off the land his entertainment and food. Yeah he has some technology and tools, but he’s basically isolated out there and away from everyone (for the most part). Right now he’s probably sipping some coffee cooking fish for breakfast.
@@josevillanueva7601 ok since you put it so elegantly.. he's off grid👍😂
I just want a life like this! 😮
i cant help but think how fortunate the people who are living off the grid during the pandemic
That is paradise...
can't beat land of the free where collecting rainwater can get you jail time and a nice fine.
Murica, land of the stupid
what's the logic behind it?
i mean what reason did they give you for that?
@@42akasha We're essentially forced to pay bills, America is run by corporations. And... sheeple's putting money in the hands of the corporation is what runs the American economy, that and a whole lot of debt. God bless capitalism.
@Steve Arthur lol yup, especially where I live here in South Florida. A few years ago it made local news a homeowner was arrested for installing solar panels to his roof and cutting off his connection to the grid. He was jailed and fined, likewise with another man for catching rain water and filtering it. You can even get arrested for feeding homeless ppl.
Land of the sheep's
& Home of the slaves
I live in America, Alaska for the last 22 years, before that Wyoming, Oregon, Washington and Idaho.
Your experience is isolated if true.
I've never heard of that rainwater or solar panel crap. Sounds like a city ordinance. Not state law.
Move to Alaska.
We pretty much do what we want within reason. Nobody gives two shits if you have solar panels or collect rainwater. Same goes in the other states I listed.
America is the land of the free.
Govt hasnt taken my guns yet.
I need a gym and a grocery store near by that would be paradise
U dont need a gym tho do sone fucking calistenics
@@c00lmanable you need to shower that's why fucking dirty ass
Thanos Killer Ah yes, the gym, where you go to shower and only shower /s
owwwwugh , this is a great big story !!
2:51 Anyone who's gone camping in the cold, knows that unimaginable joy of the first fire going from tims to flames.
My morning just got really better
I could probably live life like this if I had internet
Sad.
Only sad for people who think the internet is only useful for Facebook, Instagram etcetera.
You wouldnt have time for internet with all you have to do and want to do there :)
@@zachburnett2433 sad is that youre saying sad but if u were given the opportunity to move somewhere else without internet you 100% say no.
You cannot enjoy all of this with an internet
Living a life of luxury but in so called off grid. It's actually above the grid. And definitely put off reach for most people.
Harvest Moon : 2019 looking hella lit.
2020 so far not so lit
Wow. What a dream! Hard for sure but just look at the rewards! Very jealous. Thanks for sharing
What a privilege to have such an opportunity and live there. Beautiful place. I wish i had the chance.
Cool but how does he pay for gas, import food and other goods if he's not working?
he works as a guide to pay for petrol. He catches most of his food.
Pro_gaming_god they could have mentioned that, at least..if that's the case..even for a very short video they unnecessarily left the basic details out.
moon elf I guess you didn't get things your way
Did he say he didn't have a job?
U actually just made that up, that could possibly not even close to what he's doing lmao
I know i would hate living there but how i wish i live there like that
How does he finance it all ?
It seems like a huge adventure Holiday
People Pay To Stay With Him
rich boi
Very similar to the coat I grew up on in British Columbia, beautiful thanks for sharing.
They got snow mountains, ocean, fishing river, jungle, forest, beaches, and waves for surfing, all in one place! This is like a landscape that has everything. Where can I download this DLC in my homeland?
Me: Ah, nothing but peace and quiet. Not a single neighbor to be seen.
Stranger: Hi diddley-do there neighborino! Welcome to paradise! Hey, you wouldn't happen to have a cup of sugar, would you?
Me: Son of a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiitch!!!
man, that's like the move 'into the wild. love it, boys:)
But not die from poisoning!
except into the wild he actually lived off the land and didnt have helicopters, planes, boats, and a nice ass home to live in lmao its absolutely NOTHING like into the wild
@@joefitzgerald2762 bruh
This is why I really want to go to New Zealand someday. That and because that's where Lord of The Rings and The Hobbit were filmed.
I went to NZ last November, best decision I've done, most beautiful place I've seen, both irl and online.
Love your life, man. Kudos. Cheers.
We are told to believe we are living in greatest time in human history.
I'm sure it was filled with more beauty and love at some point.
Don't wanna be that guy...but, is there Internet?
TINO dont think so , but at this point would you need internet?
Yeah, if you need internet out there, then you shouldn't be there in the first place.
RKS N1S Official i would
How do you Think the guy upload it duuuhhh
Legit question... unlike a responder who assumed that the person in this 'story' uploaded the video himself.
where does he get the petrol, medicine, spare parts for quads, boats, outboards, rifle ammo, etc.?it's not like they are fully off grid is it?
They send Morse code signal through the mountains to a person then that person orders shipping then the other person summons merriweather pickup chopper because it can't find your location there then it brings the package
He might be working for DOC department of conservation.
Must have quite the gas collection cuz idk how mans is getting gas out there 😂😂 didn’t think that one through
Crude bio oil distillery, further refing your crude oil into a usable gasoline type liquid. By burning wood, creating creosote oil, and further refining.... extremely slow process on small scale.. So I'm sure he's got some form of income...
I could do it if internet is available but maybe not when I was younger. At 45 this is a dream.
Whew, that dude is roughing it! How does he survive? My heart goes out to you Warrick Mitchell.
I wish I was there growing my own weed and relaxing there forever!

Edgar Kromm - You're one to talk Donnie Darko.
What I learned from this is if you want to live like this you'd better be rich.
Nothing is stopping you from saving your money up for a while but you...eat cheap shit, live in a tent somewhere near your work, shower and shave in a bathroom and stack up some money.
He's not rich.
The initial cost would be high.. But the day to day cost would be cheaper
The land is free
I’d say the house would only be like 70k
He never said he was poor. People just salty that they don't have the money nor the courage to live like this. Let's be real, most of us even when we have money will prefer to live in a town.
I wish I could live like this, I’m so tired of life being dictated by whats trending on social media.
Taydiablo3 delete it all and go outside
Off grid...... Using a quad bike, lighters, fishing rods, full houses and boats.....and planes.... And helicopters.
off grid refers only to the grid of services it does not mean you live in the stone age.
@@Iliketochopwood exactly
@@87atxskater hahahhahahahhaa
@@Iliketochopwood c'mon..... It's a bit misleading don't you think? I mean I could be "off grid" on the moon.
One man's Paradise is another man's hell hole.
If people truely think Fiordland is a hell hole, that makes me a bit sad
I live in Africa. Trust me, we've been "living off the grid". International media calls it something different though, they say we are in abject poverty. Guess titles depend upon the authors agenda
and no snakes. Its real paradise!
Your story gives inspiration to those who are planning to live in rural. We would love to share this with our customers who bought vacant land from us and planning to live away from the city. They will surely get awesome ideas from your videos.
