The yellow sauce you are talking about is “Kuah Gulai” from Gulai Ayam Padang.. Ingredients for gulai ayam Padang (Padang chicken curry): chicken, coconut milk, coconut palm sugar, garlic, shallot, lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, ginger, galangal, tamarind, red chilies, cloves, star anise, cinnamon, cardamom, candlenuts, salt, cumin, turmeric, and coriander. The yellow color is from Turmeric , as we call it “kunyit”😊
I didn't know the first time why that they served with many dishes on the table without my picked ,when I start exploring all the dishes soon realized ones touched it consider sold and the bill was beyond my expectation,than I know that they put it all on table just to pull off your appetite, I agreed with you no complain that the food is delicious

It’s not a very slightly part of Indonesia, people cutting metal on the street next to us! Very loud and busy road! Unfortunately this was a bit of a loss! We almost didn’t upload it but we loved this place so thought we should! 🙏🏻

Next time you should try the WARTEG style restaurant, lots of veggies options too.. it can be a bit tricky tho for the language barrier, very few warteg waiters communicate with English.. But hey the challenge is what makes it more interesting 😁

You should try this: pepes, sayur urap, pecel, gado-gado, asinan, lontong sayur/ketupat sayur, tahu/tempe bacem, gudeg, sayur asem, plencing kangkung, Nasi Lengko and satay mushroom (what I know, satay mushroom on Yogyakarta, in restaurant called "Jejamuran".
