Always a good song, well composed song, it's tragic that Byron Berline passed away last year, I enjoyed all of his work and also with Bill Monroe and the Bluegrass Boys, You will be missed Byron Berline and Bill Monroe and all of the rest of the Great muscians that made bluegrass bluegrass.
My grandmother and I attended over 50 concerts of Byron. He was such a big part of our lives and 1000s of other lives. He was a master at his craft, a kind person that would open his door and literally sit and talk and jam with you for hours. He was an outright legend and will be sorely missed
Are used to go in there all the time! I miss it. Are used to jam out with him occasionally. When I was a kid and I got my first electric guitar from him. First date I had with my high school sweetheart he sold me a $250 guitar. For two bucks and told me to go have fun. I still have it today. I even have all the same guitar pedals from him. Lol I miss him a lot.
Colby Graves I was just thinking about this. So much history in that one building. I’m hoping that they can rebuild. It was always fun going there and seeing all of the instruments and always a joy to get to see Byron play.
Bryon b.song all the way..gold rush.just put it on a Monroe record and made it famous..1969 hall of fame album..aug.23.69 gold rush day..monroe.joe Stuart on a 46 herringbone.guitar..vic Jordan famous 2 part banjo piece where he plays a second high.melodic. part.fullnlength of banjo neck and Monroe slaps in mando part
Byron is fantasticly smooth, clean and inventive within the tradition. I somehow just missed him in SoCal in 1996. I liked his column in Frets magazine He moved back to OK around 96.
I am sorry you life is filled with hate, bitterness and anger. I am praying for you now that God will touch your heart and soul and turn you life around before it's to late.
How come it is called a song as if it has words. I don't hear any singing in this so called song. I would call it a tune. Before we had recorded music no one would ever consider dancing when some one was singing. It would have been considered being very rude to the singer.

Such true words. Always had time for me.
Beautifully said. Truth.
Rest in peace, sir, and thank you for the music.

Wonderful! He was one of a kind.
What a sweet and kind and talented gentleman he was. RIP❤️
Could listen to you all day long.
I got to play a tune with him once; he was very accessible and friendly.
back in 1980 our band backed byron in dearborn mich. great fiddler, man and sense of humor!
So much respect for this -late- most great fiddler. I was blessed to join some live performances of this all time legend in American country fiddling.
Rest in peace my friend.
So sad that he's passed away. What a tremendous man and musician.
Truly the greatest that ever lived.
Inspirational every time I hear it. What master. Thank you for posting.
Thanks so much for posting.
Very useful to hear Berline himself play the tune.
Byron is such a pro. great t see him at a relaxed moment.

you are awesome. how do you learn to play like that. Sophie 8 years old from Guthrie Ok
if only they had a guitar player for accompaniment
Bluegrass music sure is a lot sadder without the fiddle of Byron Berline

irrelivant dobro picker
should NOT even be there-a decent guitar man is in order-give baldy the HOOK
The guy on the dobro is the reason this even got videotaped. Cut him some slack.
