Got the P0011 code and watched this, definitely was not a tough job and took your advice from this video. Thanks for saving me a few dollars because i was omw to the dealership.
Thanks for the video. Got the codes for Bank 1 (P0011) and P0300 (misfire). Going to change oil and relearn (had timing chain replaced about 3k miles ago and has been rough since). If that doesn't work will replace the solenoid.
The cover is because the exhaust vtc is magnetic and non serviceable. That part is known to fail also, so in the long run you may have to get that 1200 dollar cover. But if the intake sol. Was the only issue then fuckin sweet. Was it misfiring at idle before the fix?
Was your car stumbling or like cutting out at 4k rpms? Have a 08 37 that cuts out at 4k hard and p0011 code here and there with limp. But it cuts out at 4k without thr cel popping on as well.

@Jralls3 mine was the cam phaser sprocket the pressed ring shifted one tooth advanced bank 1. I manually tapped the ring oit 3mm and back to lining up with the 5th tooth including the one marked with the tining mark. Worked!! Ripping the car for the past week. More people need to try that instead of replacing and spending 2k in labor. Took 4 hrs
@@trustedhype7221 no theres no video on how to do the phaser adjustment. I have a thread I found where one guy tried adjusting the cam phaser ring and it worked, so before we spent the money we decided to try it, and ours was out of alignment as well on bank 1. So I did what he did, and no shit it worked. It's been several days or a week now of ripping and it's running great. I don't expect it to last forever, but that pressed ring can make a guy spend thousands to have it replaced. I'll link a thread. And if u need more questions answered how I did it exactly I can send my email as well. If your having p0011 and replaced cam sensor and checked the sensor in front cleaned screens or replaced and it's still doing limp, and your oil pressure is good, id pull that upper cam cover and check where the ring is aligned 100% to timing mark on sprocket.
@@trustedhype7221 lemme know if that helps. He doesn't tell you what all you need to take off to get the cover off, but it's more than you'd think for passanger side p0011. There's a hidden bolt on the cam cover that requires fans to be dropped lower, two idler pullers and tensioner set up. Braket for tension, power steering pump needs to be taken off but lines can remain connect, and the bracket for power steering back by header. Then pull both sensor on cam cover and gently pry it away at pry points carefully to get dowels to release. The spin engine clock wise by hand until the phaser sprocket timing mark it vertical, count each tooth including one with timing mark clockwise, and the pressed ring should line up with the 5th tooth. If it's 4 it's retarded if it's 6 it's advanced. Ours was advanced. Be careful to not damage that pressed ring or your car will not run. If it's not on the proper tooth, it won't run or will run worse. But it's not difficult with a bit of confidence.
@@Jralls3 youre right, i ended up taking it to the mechanic and let them do the work, ill probably spend less money that way then guessing and buying parts i dont need
