Mister Cromwell!!! I never would have thought to see you on You Tube given how old-fashioned you are! Glad to see you again and glad I was your student although it was really tough. Guys his Algebra course is one of the hardest courses you will ever take but he will also always work with you to make sure you do things in a mathematical way.
Really inspiring story and your passion for math education is wonderful I don't really share your political perspective (but don't entirely disagree either), but no matter as far as I am concerned. It's fantastic that you are helping to make a difference in the lives of young people and better prepare our workforce for the jobs of the future. God bless you!
my man tricked me into watching an ad 😂 I honestly was expecting to listen to all the hardships he had been through in his childhood, like failing in math etc but dude's out here tryna sell his course/book 😭
Thank you for your reply. There is a lot to say about all those issues you mentioned in the book. A video on all those topics would be too long, so the book does it a lot more justice. City Tutoring provides several courses, not just one course. We offer all the secondary school subjects as well as college courses. If you need any assistance with Math on a particular topic, please let me know if any area is not covered in this channel.
Professor Cromwell, it a delight to know that you are also well versed in political science, and interested in International relations. As of the way you teach mathematics, I am certain that you are more dedicated than the selected diverse education level tutors I was exposed to in my sixth year of primary school in a Coaching College (won't say the name) that eventually closed in the city I lived and went the city it stared. All I needed was to keep practicing fractions. One adult at home had an aversion or antipathy for fractions, that a student that has learning difficulties does not need . Very few teachers will say that one reason you learn fractions is logical thinking. The dumber society is ,the easier it is for selected figureheads to control
The "powers that be" indeed do not want to have a healthy and informed citizenry. In America, our founding fathers warned against having an ignorant population, because that is the sure path to a tyrant...and sadly, we have drifted away from freedom and empowerment of the individual to what we see today.
I am actually a Columbia grad student in their Construction Admin program within SPS. But am more interested in returning in the future for their Ops research program or Management Science Program. I am looking forward to your course on pre-calc and calc and the GRE so that I can improve my mathematical ability to perform well as I will be taking the quant courses from the beginning next year to establish my quantitative ability. So hopefully you're able assist me with this area of need. Thank you again!
For me, it has simply been a process of willingly not participating in all that. Most people will find it unusual or question it, but once you free yourself from that world, there is no going back.

Oh, I quite agree - great power brings great responsibility. I would like to see them both throw down their weapons, sit back at the negotiating table, and get things done.
college calculus textbooks will give you the best foundation. I'm self reviewing calculus up to college calc 2 from the ron larson 11th edition calculus of a single variable, I'm sure there are textbooks online that you can download and review.
To have a strong foundation for Calculus, you need a solid training/grounding in Algebraic language and procedures. For me, speaking personally, the book that changed my life was: Algebra, Structure and Method, by Dolciani. I also particularly enjoyed Chrystal's Elementary Algebra, from the turn of the century/late 1800s.
You become a mathematician when you realize that the only thing more satisfying than solving a problem is realizing there’s an even harder one you haven’t touched yet. That, at least, is my perspective. To paraphrase the great English mathematician Hardy, it is when you would rather be right than happy.
LOL bruh this guy IS like literally from the past...if you go to one of his classes it'll feel even more old school, doesnt even have a cell phone I think...when I was his student he had a flip phone that was only used during office hours. Super conservative vibe.
@@billylee5624 its really hard, but I just wish it was more like contemporary. I learned a lot in his class, but hes super serious about Math so it made me somewhat nervous. But I truly understood the Algebra with him compared to other more laid back people.
"Mathematics is difficult, even for mathematicians." ~ Reinhold Böhme, quoted in Appendix A of "Vector Calculus" (2nd Edition) by Marsden & Tromba.
