    Why all foreigners land in paharganj?!?! It is not a safe place. It is cheap does not mean it is good

    • @JumpingPlaces
      @JumpingPlaces  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In my case was a mistake, I didnt know it was going to be some awful place. I just searched on airbnb and noticed that area had loads of places to stay, so i searched the area quickly and it showed it is a popular area with backpackers... also on the airbnb of our hotel we didnt see any bad reviews really so just thought it was a normal backpacker place... It is unusual in any other country for such a bad area to have so many hotels and places to stay, very weird. I read that the government developed many hotels there for the commonwealth games so they are party to blame for investing in such a bad area. I have never seen in another country a slum level area to have loads of hotels, truly bizarre. My hotel wasn't even that cheap either, was an ok hotel

      @@JumpingPlaces that place is actually for people from other countries who buy stuff in bulk and sell it in their own country.. so they dont want any good place which are in new delhi because new delhi is capital of country so they hide in such places..thats the worst part of city will too many low class cheap room. many hotels in delhi have 5 level security checks hence some not so good type of tourist live in paharganj which you might have noticed...

    You really captured Delhi there. The streets, markets, colours, food, scams. India is fascinating, and challenging but if you stay aware of where you are, it is also very rewarding. So full of history, culture and wonder.

    Paharganj is very popular with backpacker foreign tourists but I would not recommend it. Most of the foreigners who stay there are looking for drugs etc so it is ok for them. If you are the more respectable kind then I would recommend Karol Bach where you can get good budget hotels and clean accommodation great food and good shopping places.

One of the most expensive places in Delhi though.. Very clean, posh and you'll meet only well groomed people there! Finest place 👌

    You're the first couple I have watched go to India - I've just watched Gabriel Traveler, Harald Baldr, Bald & Bankrupt and Vagabrothers. I worked with a really nice, very funny woman from Delhi in New York (she is a New Yorker now) and she was always saying I should visit there but my wife won't have it, even though we both love Indian food. She loved her hometown and talked about wanting to open a tea shop back there when she and her husband retired. When she rode the subway, though, she rode in the 'woman's only car' - need I say more. Best wishes and I hope you have more good positive experiences than negative ones - I like the way you assess things - if it's good, it's good, but if it's not, it's not, and you say so. Safe travels.

      @@JumpingPlaces hey guys! India is mental. Don't go around eating that crap Street food, you have no idea what goes into that. A few recommendations:
      1) visit the Taj Mahal, visit Jaipur Udaipur and all those palace cities. Visit Hampi and Goa, Kerala(beach destinations) in the South. The backwaters are supposed to be really cool.
      2) india is a pretty massive country like Brazil but I think you've landed in THEE most chaotic spot in the country. LOL. But that's an experience by itself.. just hang in there guys, you'll get used to it! Haha.
      3) safety for women - every country has creeps and cos of the huge population the odds of you bumping into a creep is a a lot more in India. You can show as much skin as you please in a nightclub in any of the metropolitan cities or in Goa but avoid roaming the the market streets in deep tops and shorts and you'll be fine.
      4) if you like the mountains, you can visit the state of Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand.
      5) North East India is supposed to be very beautiful also, Google it, check it out and see if that's something you'd like.
      6) also, people in the South are GENERALLY nicer..(note the word GENERALLY in caps haha). They're just a lot more polite, courteous, educated and friendly down south than in the North. But again, I hope your experience proves me wrong. I hope everyone treats you well.
      7) haggle EVERY WHERE!!!
      Anyways, that's it from me guys! Sorry for the long post but.. just doing my bit. hope it helps.. If you Need anything, hit me up. If you're down south, let me know. Wish you guys safe and happy travels!! God bless!
