1:09 it actually was this quiet! I actually managed to attend that same concert tour in Singapore and we wanted to listen & appreciate her voice at that single moment during the concert so we kept quiet as fans HAHA we were mostly in awe also though 😂

same here in Thailand😂 we love to sing along with her but when there’s the acapella times, we all went silent to hear Taeyeon’s voice
Taeyeon does have performances at MAMA and some other big award shows, and those performances are fine and all but there's a reason they are never on the top of anyone's suggestions list. Such events are simply not the kind of environment where Taeyeon thrives.
You may have noticed from her "Killing Voice" appearance that she can be a rather timid and shy person. She has a lot of anxieties. Some of it is a natural part of her introverted personality, some comes from traumatic experiences that she, unfortunately, had quite a number of. At the same time, she can be a strikingly charismatic and engaging performer. She's also a weird, funny, witty and naturally animated person. She just needs a relatively comfortable and safe environment to let that side out.
Taeyeon's most emotional and fun performances are those in front of her own fans. Solo concerts, fan meetings etc. Most of performances in today's video are from her 'S Concert in Seoul for example.
Taeyeon's most badass and charismatic moments are probably still at Girls' Generation concerts, although she has turned things up quite a bit at her solo concerts in recent years with performances like "I Got Love".
Taeyeon's funniest and happiest moments are when she's with people she knows well and likes. Her Girls' Generation activities, interactions with buddies like SHINee's Key, Amazing Saturday's crew etc. The Instagram lives she holds mostly on her dog's channel are also quite something. Her relationship with fans is rather special.
Taeyeon's birth date is listed as March 9, 1989; that makes her 33 years old according to the Western calendar and 34 according to Korean tradition.

She hasn't written her songs but she does have say in ideas and what she wants to perform for her solo stuff. She's gone through so much so these emotional songs do have a lot of meanings. Like the Japanese songs you heard here are from her Japanese album Voice, so the whole album is pretty emotional for me. I at the end made me tear up, thinking about the things she went through during and before that time. That was released in 2015, and 2014 was pretty bad for her since she had so many haters from different fandoms. So I is the song that I think started rescuing her and in finding herself. She's pretty open about her mental health

Taeyeon is more carefree and animated when performing in front of her fans. She knows they're not looking at her with judgmental eyes, waiting for her to make a mistake then criticize her for it.
As a matter of fact, her song Gravity (she also sang this on Killing Voice) is dedicated to her fans ☺
In terms of technical vocal skills Taeyeon is up there with korean powerhouses like Ailee and Hyolyn. From what I've seen they are currently top 3 best active kpop female vocalists (Ailee especially is pretty much untouchable), and all three are also easily some of the best even outside kpop. You should check the other two as well if you don't know them and if you like strong technical singers. plus their songs are very good too imo

Well for starters, QUIT trying to compare yourself to seasoned veteran vocalists who have already worked their ways to becoming world-class performers with over more than a decade of experience.
Instead, compare yourself to rookies, people who are still in training stages, who are closer to your own vocal experience. That's just the beginning of the problems in your thinking pattern.
Nobody expects you to be the next Taeyeon, so you should not hold yourself against that impossible ruler either. It is a well-known fact that artists are their own worst critics.
I mean tbh that was just a joke I thought of in the moment .. I’ve never actually said that to myself haha and I love singing and I’ve always felt like you should never compare yourself to anyone because everyone is different 🤍 we all have different tones, techniques and what we think sounds good so yeah I promise I’m good 👍 I just have a dark sense of humor lol
