God showed me that verse, and apparently showed Dr. Peter Ruckman also. One of the good things about Peter Ruckman is that he confirms things that God has shown me. I never met Dr. Ruckman, and I do not think he got any of his doctrine from me. Just as Ruckman mentioned that men will be called Ruckmanites who did not receive their doctrine from him, but from the Bible, or the Holy Ghost showing them where the true Bible is. Ruckman hit the nail on the head when he grabbed a hold of John 1:12. Pastors will endeavour to stop you if you start leading men to Jesus. God bless you, Tim. Soul winning starts with being a light in a dark world. It’s up to the free will of the lost to ask what gives you the fruits of the spirit. A true intention to be like the saved. Talking about Jesus Christ to the Lost or exposing sins is not the way to do it, as the old man will reject the message at best and at worst point they’ll openly target you for evil. A soul winner needs to protect him or herself as well from target of persecution. The reason this is said in this way because when you shine the light of Christ your openly persecuted without spreading message of salvation. They’ve basically said in persecution of the believer in Christ before selling the message of salvation is I don’t want this light because it shows my darkness, sinfulness, deception & evil. They’d remain in their darkness and basically rejected Christ message before the message was uttered. Soul winning comes from true intent to seek light and understand light and desire of that light. Otherwise most don’t want it and telling them will only lead the saved to persecution. Being persecuted for Christ is different to being persecuted for the message of salvation. Standing firm in defence of Christ is not the same as persecuted for message of salvation.
