    I can't wait to see more videos like this on other smiths you carry. Specifically, what makes each smith unique and what makes their knives different than the next one.
    Thanks for making this

    A Nakiiri is next in line for me! I'm a great fan of Yu Kurosaki, but it's really hard to resist the beauty of Ryusen Hamono's work. Thank's for fab vids as usual

    I have the set of the Bonten Ryu and love them!!! The only thing to watch out for is not to use any abrasive sponges or such to clean them because the Ryusen Logo can come off slowly, happened to my Petty knife which is also used by others often......

    Nice explanation, Gage. Have you guys visited Japan and the forges? We are planning on going as soon as it is possible and Echizen is on our itinerary, so it would be nice to hear you talk about your experiences there.

      Gage has been quite a few times. We have some footage from previous trips and we're hoping to get some filming done there when were allowed to go again!

    Great video 👍...as always...
    Those Ryu knives will make a great addition to the selection you already offer.
    Any other makers you planning on getting in?

      Glad you liked it! Eventually we'd like to do one for every smith we carry!

    Nice video! I would definitely tune in for more 'Overview' videos on the Japanese knife brands/bladesmiths.
    I recently purchased a Ryusen Fukakuryu Sujihiki. Next to the stunning looking and super thin Damascus blade, I especially like the details in the handle. It's so comfortable in the hand! Love it!

      I absolutely love their handles! The knockdown where there is usually a ferule is super ergonomic!

    Do you ship to India, Gage? I'm interested in the Ryusen and the Kurosaki. I want a Bunka and I've found you guys to have the best range of k-tip knives than most other online stores.

    How does it compare to the Blazen line with the Western yo handle and will you ever have these in the future?

    • @SharpKnifeShop
      @SharpKnifeShop  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      We have never had the yo handle blazen series in our shop so I can't really say unfortunately. Though I would say the main difference would be the balance and feel, yo handled knives are typically balanced closer to the handle and wa handles balance further forward in the blade.

      Hey Fredrik! We have quite a few nakiris from Ryusen Hamono. You can follow the link in the description for the prices of all of them!

    Great looking knives but I couldn't spend that much on the fact that they integrated that stamping step.

    • @SharpKnifeShop
      @SharpKnifeShop  ปีที่แล้ว

      They're so beautiful in person you might change your mind! Also I think you under estimate the amount of smiths that forge weld their steel and still use a stamp or cutter to refine the shapes before grinding. It saves time, which brings the price down, and increases consistency!

      @@SharpKnifeShop Good to know thank you very much. I must tone down that elitism that I must have picked up on the web.
