I enjoyed the little detours away from just the rail line. If you have a chance to do some more of that I wish you would.

I'll pass your suggestion on to Geoff, he's doing the flying from now on.

Well Done Mike! Lovely smooth piloting, is the mini3 shooting a bit dark? Or is my screen perhaps, Sorry to hear your leaving but I'm sure you will enjoy Barcelona, Lovely temperat climate most of the year and skiing in the mountains close by. I expected a bit more expensive than Thailand. Looking forward to your updates. Safe travels

Thanks Sean! I'll have to review the footage. Geoff had it in the default 4K and I downsampled to 1080p. Yes, some things more expensive than Thailand for sure!

@Mike's Tropical Tech I had the same dark footage with a new phantom 4 on 1st shoot. But it resolved itself on next and subsequent use. Keep Safe and Well. Regards Seán

How are you going to run 160kph trains on metre guage track? Why after laying all the new narrow guage from Bangkok south would you want to make a high speed joining Malaysia? Bang Sue new station is elevated. What you will be getting is the diesel units they got for free from Japan and are being modified to run on narrow track at Makkasan workshops. The new diesels from China with Alstom engines are already on test from Hua Lampong to Chiang Mai. Top speed is 120 kph.

Thanks for your insight. I can only say I've seen several Thai agencies quoting the 160kph number, so we'll see when the trains start rolling.

@@MikesTropicalTech Mike you do realise traIn 43 leaves Hua Lampong at 0805 and arrives at Hua Hin at 11.26. So when this starts to leave from Bang Sue it will cut the journey down to 3 hours even before the dual line is put to full use. China has built a high speed line through Laos which is now running. In the same time Thailand has built 2 miles of high speed line. Surely that speaks for itself.
