Zhongli just learned and being accustomed to human's emotion and he has had so many losses. Guizhong was smart and also wise, and she is also gentle in leading her people. Traits that Ningguang also has as the Tianquan of the Liyue Qixing, basically the leader of the Liyue Harbor. Zhongli believes that now human can prosper on their own without the help of a god. In my head i like to imagine Zhongli finds a sense of familiarity in Ningguang because she is just way too similar with Guizhong. He respects and admire Ningguang just like he did with Guizhong. But not in like a romantic way or anything. It's like what you get when you get reminded of a memory you cherish so much, a memory that's now bittersweet because it's in the past but you can do nothing about it but be glad and happy because it happened, but at the same time sad because it has ended. But the life must go on. That's what i imagine Zhongli would be feeling.
On Zhongli's comments on Ningguang, he knows how she started her mechant life at yaong shaol. I mean, how would he know that unless he is actually looking out for her right? That's me wishfully thinking she is her reincarnation. Zhongli's deserves to be happy. 😭

Now imagine if they really implement this in-game, say, some new ascension mechanic that ascend Ningguang from maximum Lv 90 to Lv 100 and turn her into Guizhong incarnate. The special ascension will require a (perhaps fully enhanced) Memory of Dust as an ascension material. Now this might generate more demands for weapon banners.
It hurts cause I got ningguang on my first acc. But lost my 50/50 on zhongli banner so I made a 2nd acc and got him but I couldn't get ningguang😭😭 I want them to be on the same team

Thank you for making this. I've main Ningguang since I play Genshin back in 1.0 and got Zhongli in 1.1, since then both of them are always in my team. I really love them both, their comps are absolutely amazing. Looking forward to 2.4 where we got new Ningguang skin and possibly Ningguang hangout event (heard it from leak). I really hope we learn something new fron Ningguang side in her hangout event.

Like in the genshin universe its probably like that theory i just said, you dont remember much stuff from your past life, but in the genshin universe it is most likely you can remember bits of it. If ever Ningguang is really the reincarnation of Ghuizhong (which I truly believed in) I don't think she would inherit Ghuizhong's memory and consciousness. I believe that reincarnation is more of starting a whole new life but has the same moral quality of your past self but it doesn't mean you will be the same exact past self version.

Maybe do some research how reincarnation works in Asian folktales and culture? Reincarnation doesn’t mean you share the same personalities, you share the same soul. So it doesn’t matter if they may not have the same personalities or if they don’t look different, as long as their soul is the same. Personally I think there’s too many coincidences for Ning to not be her reincarnation or have some relevance to Guizhong
