I think the Hot Toys is looks-wise somewhat between the Mattel and the Sideshow Grogu. If you want accuracy and have money to burn, I would choose the Sideshow boy and modify him. There are several tutorials on TH-cam (Cosplay Chris, Adam Savage, and others) who have done it very successfully. What you cannot get out of the Sideshow Grogu though is the change of expressions the Hot Toys Grogu offers.
I agree 💯 percent with the HT falling in the middle between the two looks wise. Between not wanting to cut up a $400 statue and the interchangeable ears,hands & mouth moveability it's Hot Toys all the way for me. 🙌
Def saw some of these come out with that issue. Not sure if it was maybe an early run but I've posed mine with his mouth open for the past 7 months and used him for some videos with the mouth open and close and still no such issues. 🤷♂
For me the eyes are the most important and I think the eyes from the HotToy version are better. The second thing I notice is the pinky skin color on the HotToy version is more accurate, the other version is to strong, to much pink.
Wow, the Baby without his ears is traumatizing. 😅😢😂. I think the Sideshow one is better quality, but Hot Toys is so cute! And the moving mouth is a plus!
Please be aware there’s a problem with the mouths on these….if you keep the mouth closed, it stresses the material below the chin and they tend to rip…..split parallel to the length of the mouth just above the neck
They are both cute. But the sideshow is really like statue for Grogu just...stand. Hot Toy is more Cuter and you can make stop-motions with this little one

I have both and actually cut up my Sideshow piece and it was 100 percent worth it. It looks so much better!
