  • In Todays Chronicle I'm battling the MASSIVE Overgrown weeds on a steep bank behind my house. I used the Speed Feed Head and Blade Kit from Echo, and did a little comparison as to which is suited best for the job! The Weed Eater I was using was the SRM- 3020 T and it was great as always!
If you enjoyed drop a LIKE! Thanks for watching :)

0:54 if the strings not strong enough buy better string, and slow your sweeps down a bit, give the cutter time to cut and build its speed back up.

I found that when cutting tall material with a blade you place your head flat on the sweep to the right tilted to the left slightly on the sweep to the left all your material will be placed in a row on the left at the end of your sweep making it easier to pick up.

@Country Boy Chronicles, I have the Echo 3020U and man I love it, I do clearing jobs man more power is awesome. I only run premix fuel and black diamond 105. 4 arm lengths of line, I usually have wraps of line in my pocket.
I've had to cut I'd say a 16 acre property of 5ft tall grass. Man what a job

Honestly a bigger trimmer would've made easy work of that weed growth. The speed feed head doesn't have anything to do with productivity. The line and the power you have is everything. We use to use the echo 3020T to cut the real heavy areas if it was a property we didn't regularly service. That things ate everything. Absolute machine. That black echo twisted line is hella nice though. I use to use that and 1 full speed feed head worth I could easily trim a full 10hr shift without changing it out or adding more line. A real busy days and knowing what you're doing you could easily get 15+ miles of trimming of 1 spool on that head

My fs240r with .130 line would of ate thru that growth easily. not knocking on the 3020 because my 3020 is one of big/medium trimmers lol.

It’s actually on the side of a like an 8 foot cliff. There’s no getting a mower or tractor near it!

For me I cant be bothered to be changing string trimmer head to brush cutter and vice versa. I jjust t bought a powerhead exclusively for Brush cutting. Its a more efficient use of my time

I tried the black dimond string and I found the cheap stuff was way better

Man, You arent running the trimmer as it should, to get the most efficient swath. And that is by removing theguard OFF ! You dont realize how much string you are Wasteing. The Only thing the gaurd protects is You. So You Protect You, remove that string cutter crap, throw that away, cause you wont go back..
I have the 2620, and it is one of the very best weedeater. Im going to get the 3020. The blade atachment was very informative. Thank you.

That black diamond premium string, is the worst damn string I ever used in a weed Wacker, always always breaks off inside the spool, shut down for fifteen minutes pulling the head off every time it happens which is Everytime you load it, pulling the broken line that's wedged in there like concrete, folks stay away from that xxxt, now if your just trimming grass around the curb your alright with it, but don't get into any weeds, ever with that line.

I know I’m a little late, but just saw your video. How are you liking that 3020T? I currently have the SRM-225, and it’s been great for the past 9 years. However, I now live on a 20 acre property with all sorts of things growing, similar to what you were cutting, and my 225 just isn’t doing the job. So I’m either going to get the 2620T or the 3020T. Would love to hear your thoughts. Also, I noticed the tower you had. What sort of HAM equipment are you running? I’m currently studying for my Technician’s license. However, I still use my Cobra 2000 GTL a good bit, but it’s hard getting out since I live in a valley.

So this guy recommends this string for everyone, than a few minutes later states " it will just keep breaking on you," but you must get it right away. I'll take your advise right away,

Speed feed or brush blade… either way when it’s 90+ degrees outside weedeating is AWFUL!

LoNoiz .130 works great on the 3020. .95/.105 will break off easily on anything big by the 3 sweep.
