    Very good. You are a natural in front of a camera. These HE-R9's are now $109 from manufacturer. I grabbed them just for fun.

    This is what a review should look like.
    I have a feeling I'm going to be watching a boat load more of your videos, everything about this whole production is on the money.

    I've been hunting every review I can on these cans. I also found your channel, and glad I did! Nice review, you may just be my tie breaker on purchasing these!

    They cost me 130€ without the bluetooth device, and for this price is an excelent headphone!

    Appreciate the review, I love my HE-R9s. I use Bluetooth often and don't feel like the impact to quality is anywhere near what you're describing. I feel like you left out critical details around your BT connection..did you ensue that LDAC was enabled on your transmitting device? If LDAC was enabled, did you confirm 990 kbps bitrate? LDAC can transmit at 330, 660, or 990 kbps depending on connection quality and device settings (best effort is the usual default which varies based on connection quality).
    Anyway, I think at the very least we need more details about your Bluetooth configuration before we can take anything meaningful from your results.
    Standard CD audio quality is 1440 kbps, I would bet most listeners would be hard pressed to discern a difference between 990 kbps and 1440 kbps (assuming your LDAC connection is stable at 990).

    These dropped to $250 on Amazon this November. What do you think of the value proposition there, with the competition in that bracket? I ordered them and have them on the way, but I'm curious what you think given your greater experience.

    You are funny beeing and I like it 👍. Macy Stripped album and many more chesky records are spot on quality, glad you mentioned it. About Hifiman build quality there is nothing to talk about, my Arya double the price but its piece of plastic at least not ugly like R9 haha :)

    I just discovered this channel (and subscribed, of course).
    It was an excellent description. Would you or anyone here know how it compares to the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO? I mean, when it comes to closed headphones, for the purpose of listening to music without disturbing the people next to you and that are in the same price range, is the R9 better than the classic DT 770?
    Congratulations on the channel and a big hug from Brazil, Rio de Janeiro!

      Hi Adriano, The HE-R9 is a fun tuning with extended and elevated bass and a nice soundstage. The DT 770 is neutral in tuning, with a tighter bass and a more reference tuning. It really depends on what you prefer. Neither is necessarily better, but they have different sound signatures.

    Imagine these at $250 wish they used normal pin layout so using aftermarket cables would have been so easier.

    Hey. if I use these headphones on a bass emphasis warm amplifier will it be too much and get distorted and bloated?

    • @DirectorsGarage
      @DirectorsGarage  ปีที่แล้ว

      No distortion. But they are bassy headphones to begin with. Depends on your taste, really. Some love heavy overemphasized bass. Nothing wrong with that. Others prefer a more natural even bass.

    Guesses on what he is going to unbox next: Hifiman Shangri-la Jr, Stax X9000, Chord Dave (Or maybe a holo dac),, T+A Solitare P, Bakoon amp, Hifiman EF1000, something Crazy from Noble Audio,

    HE6se v2, some call the baby Susvara, is also $600 at Adorama. Two totally different headphones, but which is your preference? And which is the better value?

    • @DirectorsGarage

      I've heard neither of these headphones! Maybe someone else can chime in?

    • @Luinitari

      @@DirectorsGarage I’ve got the HE6se v2. It’s fantastic! Although, I haven’t compared much to it, only IEMs, the best of which being MEST mki.

    • @terrybritner4037
      @terrybritner4037 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can add to the sound and value of the HE6se v2’s. I have several headphones, focal Utopia 2022, Audeze lcd5, Audeze lcdx, Sony mar-z1r, Fostex th900 mk2. I am going to sell what I don’t use enough. I will keep the best sounding ones for me. I will keep the Utopia and HE6se v2, in fact I bought a second pair of the HE6se v2 for $450. The Utopia is the best I have heard for dynamic and HE6sev2 are the best I have heard for Planars.
