Look at God!!! This was a Sunday school lesson 11/2023. Entitled “Welcome Home by God” 1 John 3:1-3. This lesson spark my attention so much so I googled Deland McCullough. I have always been in awe of God. God is amazingly awesome! 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
So, here I am watching our story again. I used to cry at certain parts, but now I just start crying at the start. I thank God every day for bringing this full circle for us, bringing this miracle into our lives. I appreciate how this has impacted so many people's lives, not just ours.
Adelle Comer needs to be given her props for the job she did in raising Deland in a very difficult situation. For him to turn out as the man he is today is a credit to the kind of mother Adelle was to Deland.
Omg yes! I busted out crying thinking about how grateful his bio parents must've been to her for loving their son and raising him to be the man he is today. Lawd! 😭😭😭😭😭😭
Sherman Smith was the running backs coach for the Seattle Seahawks team that won the 2014 Super Bowl. Deland McCullough was the running backs coach for the Kansas City Chiefs team that won the 2020 Super Bowl.
Always been a Sherman Smith #47 fan. On a more somber note, he was the Tennessee Titans running backs coach when they came up a yard short to the Rams in their Super Bowl. Fifteen years later he was the Seahawks running backs coach again when they came up a yard short to New England in SB XVIX.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭I could not stop crying I had to watch this twice back to back we serve an AWESOME GOD....he was around his birth dad the whole time ....God placed him in his life to watch over him.....😭my God I can't stop the tears.....for him not to know he had a son God STILL PLACED HIM AROUND HIM SO HE CAN NOT FEEL LIKE HE NEVER KNEW HIM.....HE KNEW HIM BUT NOT AS HIS BIOLOGICAL SON.....BUT HE STILL TREATED HIM LIKE A SON.......WOW.....that tells me we have an awesome God😊💕❣so happy for u John(Deland)Smith😘😘😘😘
I went to high school with Deland. We were in the same French class. He was a great kid. Never got in trouble and very focused. Great story. Nice to hear about it. I had no idea during our days together in high school.
The clip at 09:31 was surreal...just to think he got recruited again by his biological father and all that time they never knew about their biological history. Watching them walk on that field together you can just see the similarities in so many ways. They have the same rocking walking gait. Incredible.
God is good kept his father close to him for guidance when he needed him. I'm trying not to cry, so emotional. I'm grateful to hear this wonderful story!!
A few months ago when this story came out I figured out what would be the outcome. Mr. McCullough is one awesome dude. I'm so happy for him. There are so many Deland McCullough out there. He and Sherman were bless to always be connected.
This is the one of the most beautiful and amazing stories ever! God was definitely all in this... Wow!!!! I just can't believe this. Saving this in my favorites. May God continue to cover them all!
This just goes to show that our souls truly are linked to certain people. How else could this father and son just come together 25 years before finding out? Something brought these 2 together like magnets. There's NO WAY that was a coincidence. The odds of that are just way too low.
OMG...thank you for posting this absolutely incredible story. I cried through the rest of the clip after he reached out to his birth mom lol. I hope they make a movie based on his story. ♥️
Yes, I read about this a few years ago, I went to Miami with Sherman and his Wife and were good friends back in College. Good People and a Great Story!
@@dorism4697 I've had two friends and an ex-wife that were adopted and man did they have issues. Made me wonder if all adopted people were screwed up. Not to say your husband is screwed up, but I haven't seen one yet that didn't have some real personal problems.
Omg, what a freaking story I'm in amazement, life is so unpredictable and crazy sometimes, you just have to stay strong and always do the right thing, thanks for uploading this video,,,WOW I got teary eyed so many times, blessings for the family.
KC sent me on the search for this story. I got to emotional actually shad tears of joy after he call his bio-mom. This is truly the most amazing story I have ever heard in my life.
Wow😢. This is an amazing story. The fact that he had his own dad teaching him the whole time. He already loved him. So I'm thinking that this transition to being father and son was easy. Look at God!
It’s literally the exact story of “its not learned, it’s born.”” WOW... incredible story. I’m glad it only took a simple Super Bowl win to bring the story to the main stream, because all humans can feel this one.....
Two great Miamians. Both are the epitome of #loveandhonor. I went to Miami with Mr. Deland. My cousins went to Miami with Mr. Sherman. You couldn’t ask for a better father-son combo. Kudos to Miss Adelle for raising such a fine young man! Kudos to Miss Carol for making such a difficult decision.
Great story. What a blessing!! I hope to also one day find out who my father is. I was raised by a man that loves me like his own and God has blessed me with a family of my own but sometimes I feel something is missing. Good luck and God bless 🙏
I understand how you feel. I also don't know my biological dad. A lot of people have filled that role for me (uncles, friends) but I still do wonder about my paternal side of the family. I fully believe God can give us both what we need to be happy rather we find that information or not
What an INCREDIBLE and beautiful story!!!!!! I just hear Deland's friend Kevin from Kevin's Corner, tell this story on his TH-cam channel so I had to watch it. What a great set of biological parents he has. God is so good.
What's so awesome is he didn't even have to get to know his Father. He already had known him as a father figure. 😲. Wow. God is good for keeping them all here after all these years. God bless this entire family. Happy Ms. Carol was reunited with her son. That had to be the hardest thing a poor 16 year old girl could've done.
This is an amazingly beautiful and heart warming story. I can't believe that this is my first time ever hearing about this. This is literally something straight out of a movie or something lol! And I am so glad that they put the title for the adoptive mother Mrs Addell as his mother in her title in the video and not his adoptive mother. Because even though he was adopted Mrs Addell is the real hero in this story to me! She suffered right along with her son when they didn't have necessities. She was the one that taught him to be a real man and a gentleman at that! And I'm not taking anything away from the biological mother because it was a different time then and she was only a kid and she did the best that she probably thought that she could do at the time. And the father Mr Smith just seems like an all around great man as well! But Mrs Addell and Mr Smith are the two biggest heroes in Deland's life and you can just tell how greatful he is for those two being there for him. And I mean you can tell the same thing about his biological mother as well, but you can really tell with the prior two that I mentioned. You can't choose the people you're related to by blood but you can choose who your real family is!
I too was part of a young mans journey to find his biological parent. I had the amazing time meeting with him, his wife, his two children, his dad and talking with his mother on the phone. I cannot stress enough how important it is to most children of adoption to know where they came from and why we as birth parents made the decision to give them up for adoption. Some advice, be patient, be kind, open and honest. Let them know they were a blessing from God that as a birth parent you were not able to handle yet. That God made them the blessing in someone else life to be loved and cared for.
This story makes me want to cry. I'm so glad Deland found his parents even at 45, which he doesn't look btw. On the other hand, something about Carol is off to me.
I was a student athlete at Miami U when Deland and Sherman were there...remember walking past Sherman's Mercedes on my way to practice;......this story hit me hard when it came out as I had recently found my biological mother...Deland was a stud a MU.

This is an awesome story!! So amazing how all this worked out. I have a grandson that was adopted out. Maybe one day he will want to find us😊.
Obviously you deserved for this to happen. Good people often get good results even if it takes time.
You're a beautiful lady. How great to be a _big_ part of this wonderful story!
carol briggs you did good. All of y’all
❤❤❤

This is so true Ms Adele Comer was chosen in
this divine plan of God. Just as Joseph was chosen in the divine of Jesus🙌🏾
To God be the Glory !!!!!!!

Look up ‘Show Me The Father’. Bring more tissues for that as well. Same story with much more depth.
