As Salaamu Alaikum Sister! Thanks for the video. Let me add my "two cents". I have been blessed to travel to and from Africa now for nearly 25 years. I have just returned from Senegal about a month ago now or less. My wife is Gambian. Although I have been to other countries in Africa I have been traveling to the Senegambian region for the last 15 yrs. It is very important to do research online about the places of interest in Africa that you want to visit before you go. Also I suggest visiting more than one country before making a final decision to move. As the sister said. Go there and experience the place. It is greatly different than looking at it on a screen. Something that I found out from experience to is that in some places you can rent finished apartments or houses or rooms that are much less expensive then paying for a hotel. I have enjoyed every place in Africa that I have been. But don't be fooled. Anywhere on this planet that you go always have your "Thinking Cap" on. Don't think that you can let your guard down just because you are among mostly people that look like you. You don't that in the West. So why would you do that anywhere on this Earth? And It was said, prepare yourself mentally. But don't make emotionally charged decisions. Stop overly romanticizing Africa. Because when something go wrong ( and something will go wrong Sometimes, that's just life) you shouldn't be so distraught about it that you can't go on. You have to live somewhere on this Earth. And if Africa is your choice then know that wherever you are you can't up and run away everytime some thing don't go your way. Otherwise you will be running for ever. And whatever country that you come from you don't have to cut ties or burn the bridges behind you once you cross over. If you can have multiple citizenship then do that. You can benefit from each country with citizenship that you couldn't otherwise. One other main point i want to make that was mentioned was about income. As it was said everybody's situation is different. Financial needs can differ due to a number of reasons such as family size. Desire for certain comforts to unexpected medical expenses. No matter how much money that you have of you don't have money coming in what you have will eventually run out. Even Millionaires and Billionaires keep trying to increase their wealth. People will often assume that if you come from the west or even other places in the east outside of Africa that you have money. ( Even if you don't). That can work for you and it can also work against you. Again thanks for the video. I encourage all especially those fr the diaspora to visit Africa for yourself. Peace

@@africandiaries Dear Sister, it was my pleasure and my duty. By The Grace and Mercy of Almighty ALLAH, the Most High I’m honored to be able to share my experiences that in some small way may help someone else. There is an old saying that “experience is the best teacher.” But it don’t have always be what you experience for yourself. You can learn a lot from the experiences of others being shared with you. So keep up the good work and Almighty ALLAH, the Most High will reward you for your good efforts. As Salaam Alaikum!!

Regarding your question if it is safe - Gambia is generally a safe country to be in. Just like in any other place, you do need to care for your belongings. And I would also say it depends on the places and also the time of day...
make sure you have someone with you if you're new to the country. It'll reduce confusion👏🏿👏🏿
