Just for clarity the first league section is not head to head. 4 groups of 5, and each group has been assigned a different team - with all 5 sets of managers in that group playing 3 seasons as that team (not network game or head to head)
Great video Si nice breakdown! I like their idea of doing the 3 day league season stuff to narrow down the “final group” who do the draft. This helps to limit the ridiculous levels of RNG that FM has. Honestly though, can’t imagine it being a spectacle from an entertainment POV. Typically the most entertaining and engaging e-sports are more high octane. You mention Rocket League and then others come to mind like PUBG, CSGO, LOL, FIFA etc. The type of games that are short, sharp and excitement packed. FM just isn’t that type of game so it’s going to be a big task for them to make it an entertainment piece, if that’s even something they try to do. It might just all be behind closed doors and only on the official website. Who would the target audience be for a 4 day long, slow FM tournament if it was on Twitch for example? Interested to see what happens. However, the huge RNG and lack of direct input to FM final results, coupled with how slow it is in general, imo makes it tough to be a successful e-sport
Yeah - identical teams too is going to be really interesting. I don't know if/who they have got involved to do the comms/show so that will be interesting if its larger personalities - Spencer FC, or large FM people aka Lollujo.
@@SiMaggio Yup if they have someone like that who is used to commentating, working with somebody with a more in depth knowledge of FM it could work for the draft. That bit may well draw in a crowd! I also hope that Fantasy Draft doesn’t shit the bed on game night 😂 we all know what it can be like! If it’s done properly, at the very least it will get more eyes on the game, specifically from proper mainstream Gamers, which should be a naturally target market for the new look FM from 25 onwards
