The tripod fall was perfect comedy 😂. Thanks for remidning me about the gate vault. We were taught that in PE at school -"Now, you dont know when youll need this, you may be chased by a bull or need to escape a thunderstorm".
There is another type of trig bagging. There is an Amateur Radio award scheme for making two way radio contacts from/to a trig point. There are two types of award one for the people who go to the trig points and one for the others who work them. It is part of a wider award called Worked All Britain (but it actually covers all of the UK so NI is included). There is also a scheme called "Summits on the Air" (SOTA) which is for the summits of mountains (world wide scheme)
Loving the 2 channels, and long time just of Harrier Running kit 👍 Did my own trig bag challenge, but headed to the UK's lowest to save running any hills 😂 Video coming up soon. Is the running pose a head nod to Camera Conspiracies and slo-mo running guy?
So -1m for the lowest 😂 Camera Conspiracies - may have started with this video th-cam.com/video/adQaxG-hzco/w-d-xo.html and you at 2:35 in this one.... Good luck in the half 👍
As well as summit and trig bagging, hut bagging is a popular tramping (hiking) passtime in NZ. As the name suggests, the aim is to try and visit as many of the extraordinary network of backcountry huts found across Aotearoa.
Yeah, I'm not too aware of many back home either. After moving here, I can attest that they do make the outdoors a lot more accessible and the variety in design is always very interesting.
We actually got at least one trig in my town (East Kilbride) I bagged I suppose just for the sake of getting my drone up when I was at a loose end. I have a feeling there’s one in England that’s below sea level but is on dry land.
Glad to finally know the purpose behind those little stone markers atop many of the hills and mountains I see in your and other hiking channels’ videos. I’d thought they were just markers for the summits, but was curious and impressed that they’d go to the trouble of building them just to mark the summit. Figured there had to be another reason. Great video too.
so fun...your videos are truly done so well ...very talented storyteller. I can't believe that I would listen this long to a man talk about his pole...
Another brilliant production, funny but informative. I thought when I first looked at the title it was going to have something to do with Only Fools & Horses.
As soon as I saw you flying in the wind, I wanted to know how you’d done it. Pleased you included the edit! Super inventive and another brilliant video.
Hi Stephen, In our regiment we have a special trig map and use these points for their precise positioning when correcting our equipment or when we build firing posts for artillery or when we play the game Russians shot down all the satellites and your are not allowed to use GPS. But unlike you we get to take a 4X4 uphill :)
Interesting! Do they look the same, concrete pillars with the “spider”? Haha I’d love to see the reaction from the sheep if I was heading up the hill in a armoured 4x4 😂
I assumed the trig points were on public access land but discovered recently (from a running buddy being chased by a farmer) that they are often on private land. Just something people need to know!
Great video, very entertaining, the voice over was hilarious. You might be taking the bagging a tad too literal 😂. Loved the being blown horizontal at the trig effect, however if I was being picky the rain overlay should have been horizontal too to match. Anyway, great video 👍 P.S. how many times did you jump over that gate to get all the angles lol
I did Knocklayd just last weekend after having it on my list for years! Love watching your videos to get ideas of runs and events taking place around NI...also glad it seems to have just been as windy for you as I had it!

Today I learned something!
As an ex army communicator and lover of the hills, I will look into this 👍🏼
Heyyy… you’re wearing the same exact outfit as in Ranty Runs #15! 😛
So I am! Well actually different shoes
I saw your post in the Glorious Peak District Trig Bagging and Ethel group. Fantastic channel. Thanks for sharing.
My post? I don’t remember posting 🤷♂️ I’ll take the credit anyway! 😂
@@StephenJReid ah...... Damien Fitzgerald posted it in the group. Don't know if you know him. That's where I found you.
Ah he might be a subscriber. I’m really bad with names!

Haha, what height is the lowest?
I know who Camera Conspiracies is but I don’t get the running pose reference? 🤷♂️
So -1m for the lowest 😂

Bonus shelter at the end too! Sadly not very many huts (Bothies) in Ireland. I only know of two in Northern Ireland

Excellent video. Particularly liked the explanation of how you hung sideways on the trig point.
😁
Woohoo one of my favourite hills, but you add the fun, more please
More fun on the way 😁😁
Spectacular landscapes and impressive wind force 😂😂😂. Good video
Thanks! 😁
Ha ha brilliant! And we were all wondering in the team meeting today how you did the side trig clip!! :D
Always give away your secrets. Then people know how much work it takes! 😂
Thanks for the giggles. ❤
😁😁
Good video Stephen. Interesting to here about them trig points. I liked how you showed us the making of your thumbnail. 10/10
Thanks!

Yeah I’ve heard about the one below sea level!

I used the think of exactly the same thing and then someone told me. Every day is a school day!
@@StephenJReid I’ll have to look into whether they have similar markers here in the states.
"Reid... He's so hot right now... Reid"
Good fun again mate. Thanks for putting in the hard work 👍🏼
I only make it look like hard work 😛
so fun...your videos are truly done so well ...very talented storyteller. I can't believe that I would listen this long to a man talk about his pole...
erm thanks 🤣
Best of luck with that half of a race . .
That little door at the bottom of the trig point is a fairy door where the little people live .
No one ever comes out when I knock 🤷♂️

Haha yeah was rather pleased how that came out
I didn't come here to learn about trig bagging, only to watch your shenanigans!😂
Well you’re going to learn about trig bagging wether you like it or not! 😛
Another great video you Nutter. 😊
😁

@@StephenJReid A half buried square stone pillar with a cross on top and red and white pole next to it.
Lol I was always wondering how that was done 😮 the shot with you hanging off the side of the trig not bagging it lol
Haha yeah planned the shot before I went, brought the smallest folding chair I had 😂
@@StephenJReid well it worked great had me fooled 😃
Love the video and 2 channels, QQ - Was the Insta360 X3 used in this video?
No just the DJI Action 4
Clever edit ❤❤😂
😁

Stealth Trig Bagging... Yeah with over 5000 of them, a lot are going to be in places you maybe aren't supposed to be.

Loved the being blown horizontal at the trig effect, however if I was being picky the rain overlay should have been horizontal too to match. Haha. I actually tried the rain fully sideways but for some reason looked really fake. Hmm I think I jumped the gate 4 times
@@StephenJReid btw, I never even knew trig bagging was a thing, thought it was just Munros, lean something new everyday!
Yeah dedicated websites to it as well!

Gee, the only thing you forgot to do was kill the fattened calf atop the altar...
Was only sheep available
@@StephenJReid That will do. Thanks for your hilarious video.
You know you are a girl mom when you immediately thought that was a fairy door not a flush thingy you called it🤣🤣
😂😂 Flush Bracket.
