I seriously can’t believe you have both the MOAB’S and Double Impact SE’s
What kind of amp are you running for the MOAB’s. I have a NAD C388 with the BluOS module. I then have the Tekton Lore’s and a wireless 12” sub that can control via my phone. It’s sounds very good It’s in my very well treated room. 20’X 30’. Thick underlay and very nice carpet. Up top is sound insulation in between the rafter, with a 4” drop to acoustic ceiling tiles below. The room height is 7’ high. This sounds so so nice here. But I always want more.
So my question is what amp or amps would you use for the Tekton MOAB’s ?
    I don’t think I want anything else.
Any suggestions my dear man ?
    Thanks Jason.

Good tips. I think you should talk about your entire speaker collection - past and present.

Hey Kevin thanks for your great Tekton videos, they have been helpful to me as I agonise over deciding between the DIs and the Moabs. The issue I have is that I will be importing them into the U.K., which will add considerably to their cost, particularly the more expensive and larger Moabs.
With this in mind, and since you are one of the few people that has both, can I ask if you hear a considerable upgrade in the Moabs over the DIs? My particular preference is for huge soundstage and holographic imaging with great instrument separation. I don’t like bright top end and prefer a warmish and very “present” midrange with a tuneful bass. I listen to complex electric jazz, fusion, funk and prog.
Are the Moabs just “more” of the DIs, or are they in a whole other league? One thing that worries me about the DIs is their use of the two midrange drivers, which seems in part to undermine the benefit provided by the use of the tweeter array to deal with midrange and provide that stellar imaging the arrays are famed for?
I realise this is all highly subjective but any thoughts you can share would be greatly appreciated.

      Hi there
thanks for your question I would recommend that you get the Moab just because if you get the double Inpact you will always be wondering what the MOAB sounds like and this will eliminate the itch to upgrade. as far as the shipping there shouldn’t be a to much difference ?because they both are large and come on a skid / pallet. Keep in mind this is just a suggestion. you have to make the final decision. if you contact Tekton for a shipping quote. Ask for Tammy hopefully she can help! thanks again Kevin

@@kevinleblanc2852 Thanks Kevin I am already ahead of you on the shipping etc, but if I can be cheeky and press you more about my original questions. If you put the itch issue to one side, is the Moab significantly better or is it a more subtle distinction as per the questions I originally asked? I am more interested in how they compare sonically so I can make an informed decision. And yes I fully accept that the final decision is mine, but any feedback you can give on your experience of the two speakers would greatly assist me. Thanks in advance 👍🏻

      @@fusionfan6883 Hello
Both seem to do all kinds of music well. I would still say go for the Moab they will give you more of the warmish sound that’ll you’re looking for and they will give you a bigger soundstage. The Moab’s are in Tekton’s flagship category. So technically they are in a higher level. And I would say in a lot of aspects that your looking for sonically as well… Both pairs I have tested have the $300 upgrade and they have the $75 bi-amp option. (Which allows you to properly bi-wire them if desired) I hope this can be of some help?enjoy deciding
      thanks again Kevin

@@kevinleblanc2852 Great thanks Kevin much appreciated👍🏻 The determining factor for me is the total cost as there is 20% import duty into the U.K. One last question, would you consider the Moab an endgame speaker?

    • @fusionfan6883
      @fusionfan6883 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@kevinleblanc2852 Hey Kevin, I have now decided to go for the Moabs! But I am struggling on the colour. I am aware that the cabinets are sprayed rather than being the higher end finish you find on other “expensive” speakers. I would like to go for the white finish like yours, but was wondering if you find the finish marks easily or is likely to yellow over time like conventional white paint often does?
Also, what have you found that is best to mount the Moabs on - do you just use the supplied feet - or do you use outriggers?
Many thanks in advance for your kind help again.

Would and Audiophile still be an Audiophile if they didn't have anyone likeminded to impress ???

Be mindful of the echo in your video....
all this is in the music too... until you deal with this: you are not utilising all the awesome equipment you have.
The secret to good sound is: use as much abosrbers and diffussors as your wife allows - and then negotiate, and use some more - and once you are done: put in some more! Forget about 3 panels, what you need is crazy amounts - man cave, madness is what you want!
Should not be thin either: rugs and curtains only kill high tones and make room dull. What you need is very thick 10 to 30 cm 4 to 12 inch... Does not need to be fancy. Industrial foams works same as expensive one. Moving them around and balancing reflection and diffusion takes time and patience: bet result will surpass your expectations. Trust me on this one.
Listening to speakers in acoustically non treated room is like watching a projector without dimming a space properly...
as impressive as results are now: you have not heard how good your system is yet.
