i worked in the industry, here in the UK at least they have a legal obligation that any product they have sold has a reasonable life expectency anywhere from 1 to 2 years, so anyone that bought one last week means it still has to work or a full refund must be offered but they have to support it if the person refuses, so they will have to run 2 platforms concurrent until the last sale reaches at least a year old (or whatever the governing body in the UK states is an acceptable period) other wise it was a fraudulent sale
Dont be confused by this. It will still work as they sell it. Their goal to avoid using their platform for fraudulent apps. Which is what people are doing. They fulfilled their obligation. Being in the industry you are aware of this correct?

Andriod is actually a heavily modified version of Linux. The real problem with the Fire ecosystem is that the huge additional sales they thought they would get but haven't gotten. Recently Amazon laid-off a large number of corporate staff, many of which worked in the Alexa and Fire OS areas. Therefore, I agree that more than likely they will make the new Fire OS a closed garden, like Roku and Apple did from the get-go. Sinse Google owns Android, they could have made Fire OS closed down tight, if they had wanted to,

As of right now I can run any Android program on my RedHat Devion distro; natively android run off Linux because it is a branch of Linux, so in the end anyone that knows Linux coding will be able to come up with a work around quickly. Depending on how the Linux Distro Amazon blends with Amazons programming is the key; Linux can be extremally fast but that means a bigger cpu and alot better cooling.
You are exactly right. Not all apps will work, but many will and the ones that don't, you can always cast from your phone. Linux is great for screen mirroring. Thanks for the comment.
The problem with Android boxes is that no one has any interest in you after selling the box to you. For example, updating the operating system or closing security gaps. So after one, two, three years you have to buy a new box. And you should. Because the box is nothing more than a computer in your network and therefore a point of attack. A new OS makes a lot of sense for Amazon. Apple and Google make a lot of money from their stores. If Amazon has its own OS for the Fire TV Stick, then they have the opportunity to open their own store and earn money from you even after the sale, and you and your safety are and will remain important to them.
I’ve been using my fire stick unlocked for quite a while, most people don’t know how to do that but there’s plenty of tutorials on the tube here. The thing I am concerned with is what effort will be made to update current equipment or will they force you to upgrade to a new Linux version.
If it’s anything like what they did with the echo show devices, I just turned it on one day and it was all forcibly updated. There will always be a work around. I will have a video on Patreon showing how for free. Can’t do it on TH-cam

Apparently our service providers can stop feeding you an internet signal as I have experienced for the last month. I had a nice iptv hookup with 1000's of channels and they gave no internet. So if I buy some android box they could do it again. I have the bare minimum on my firestick now. Their starting early, leaving me depressed. I also got the blue screen on my pc and stuck there too.
Not saying that. ExpressVPN has a firestick app. I have 7 firesticks. This video is letting people know they are changing the interface. Has nothing to do with having a vpn

The android box I use every day is the vsee box. Any model is good. We buy them and give them away free on Patreon. No more cable bills or IPTV payments with that box.

They won’t. 99% just use the apps in the Amazon App Store. There is a small group of people that jailbreak the stick to add hack apps. We are the minority my friend.
You are correct. I don’t use firestick paid IPTVs anymore since it’s free anyway and I can use it on any system. I know they are doing it to add more AI features. Good? Bad? Time will tell

Go with a Vsee Android Box. Best there is with free tv and movies. Can't beat it. It's my main box. Comes with 11 IPTVS FREE. No brainer

I find that many feel the same. I still know how to side load apps, so doesn't make much difference to me. Maybe better performance now.

Android and Android TV is Linux and so is Fire TV because it is a modified version of Android TV.
