Dd15 changing the crank case filter will help you have better oil pressure after half million miles I’ve run them both I know the maintenance and difference between the two dd15 and the dd13 the 13 is a fuel saver for flat lands lanes and the 15 will pull the hills better but both are realistically good I’ve had a dd15 vapor lock a driver didn’t warm it up and pulled out the yard and it locked it up on the outside of yard driver just turned the key and took off didn’t even care, I’ve had a driver pump 50 gallons of gasoline into a dd15 and it shut it down after a few miles away and it was a mess blowing out all the lines and everything towed it into the yard and pumped it out and it been running great
That's a tough truck to have gasoline run through it, and it still works. It probably wouldn't hurt to change the crankcase breather, I've changed them in the past, but not on this truck.
@@jptransport8830 yes we operate and do all in-house services on the equipment here in our own shop on our yard but she pumped 50 gallons into the diesel tanks and my husband only thing he asked was how she got 50 gallons of gasoline from the truck fuel island and we found out she used the truck island for gasoline on the opposite side of service center it’s a local place us locally folks use here in Raleigh Nc it’s setup for businesses nothing but fuel one side is diesel and the other side is gasoline but it didn’t damage the engine at all it’s a brand new truck 2024 it probably had 30k miles on it but it’s been working nonstop for about 6 months after no problems since
the threaded caps with an o-ring should have no torque spec. the o-ring does the sealing, so just thread it down till it mates and stops. Torquing it past that can just crack the plastic
@@jptransport8830 30 ft/lb is basically it being bottomed out IMO. between the resistance of the oring and it being bottomed out I bet that would click any torque wrench after hand tight
@jimwilliams516 I would like to. I don't think I would build anything here at home. We looked at a piece of property in Mitchell on Thursday that has a rental house and a shop out back. The only problem is that it's not big enough for a trailer.
I hate putting that primary fuel filter in. Always afraid of damaging the little plastic nub at the bottom. I mark the top of the filter housing in line with hole and do the same with top of filter . I put filter in and seat it and then put plastic cover on and tighten. The crowd I log for do that with all their DD’s as they had one break and caused all types of fuel starvation issues. I like your big shed and it’s about the same size as mine except I went for more snow on the floor. Good job but according to a guy on TH-cam if you work on your own truck like me then this guy reckons “ we is broke ass owner operator MF’ers” Haven’t heard from that guy in awhile.
That's a good idea about marking the placement, I never thought about that. I'm the same way about that thing. It's good when it drops down all of a sudden, and there's no doubt it's in the right place. It's rough out in the big shed in the winter, 10X, I'm sure where you live. I had a guy comment saying I was broke because I was trying to get better fuel mileage.
Let him know I’m not broke and I never work on anything I pay for everything and let him know I’m a Girl too and I never even thought about driving a truck never have and never will but he’s just a trolling troll No Truck Getting No Truck having Troll …. I got my own shop and my own mechanic and tools and they not worried about getting paid so he just wrong and he is just jealous you guys are Smarter than Him !!!! Good Job 💖💖💖 Poptart

Saw you doing this the other day!
You should have stopped and helped me.
@ haha maybe in the summer when it is nice Aand warm 😅
Good job
Thanks!
Please do a video showing your oil sample results. You get the kind of great MPG that allows oil to go 75,000 miles.
Yep, no problem. I'll do that.
Did you know if you just tap the menu button a few times it’ll take you to the idle menu?
I do now! You taught me something new today, thanks.
@@jptransport8830no problem. Youve taught me a TON

@legionofanon I totally agree. You don't want to over tighten it. I just looked it up. It's 30 to 37 ft lbs. Or 40 to 50 N m

Will you build a heated shop someday?

@@jptransport8830seems like that would be a logical investment. Keep looking…I’m sure you will find the right option. Stay warm 🥶
@jimwilliams516 No doubt. It's going to be very cold the next couple of days.
Sweet dodge. Who are you using for parts?
Thanks! That's my son's truck. I get my filters from Evansville, IN Freightliner. The oil I get from O'rileys.
@ I might could get you a better price on some stuff
Do you get a discount for buying in bulk?

44 quarts for a 14.9 litre ,,,,,,A c18 cat doesn't even take that much,,
That's what it takes. My old B model took 10 gal, i think they are 14.6
